Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Is Your Name Myriad Affairs?
The onlookers watched Ye Feng and shouted urgently:
"Kid, you can’t beat his master! Hurry up and get everyone out of here!"
"Exactly! If you don’t run now, you won’t be able to leave!"
But just as they finished speaking, a bone-chillingly cold voice echoed from a distance:
"Too bad. He’s not going anywhere."
As the voice faded, heavy footsteps echoed down the corridor.
The crowd looked toward the corridor and saw a monk in robes striding toward them. His face was fleshy and cruel, his eyes filled with a vicious light. One of his ears was missing, leaving only a ring of scar tissue that added to his ferocious appearance.
The One-Eared Monk, abbot of Tielin Temple in the southern suburbs of Jiangcheng.
The One-Eared Monk moved swiftly, reaching the restroom in a matter of breaths. Seeing Wuneng, covered in blood and pinned to the ground under Ye Feng’s foot, the One-Eared Monk let out a cold sneer.
"To dare bully a man of my Tielin Temple... That’s a slap in my face. That’s a slap in Tielin Temple’s face!"
Seeing the blatant murderous intent in the One-Eared Monk’s eyes, Nangong Xue’s face turned pale. She quickly shouted, "Master, it’s not us bullying him! He harassed me first, so he’s the one in the wrong..."
The One-Eared Monk looked at Nangong Xue and chuckled.
"My disciple taking an interest in you is your good fortune. You should have obediently washed yourself and presented yourself to him. Understand?"
"You..." Hearing the monk’s utterly unreasonable words, Nangong Xue’s face went white with anger.
But the monk no longer paid her any mind. He turned to Ye Feng and said coldly, "Let my disciple go immediately. Otherwise, you will pay a heavy price..."
But before he could finish his sentence, Ye Feng stomped his right foot down.
With a sickening SQUELCH, the crowd watched in horror as Ye Feng brutally crushed Wuneng’s head. Red and white matter splattered across the floor.
Everyone at the scene was stunned. They never imagined that Ye Feng would actually dare to kill Wuneng right in front of the One-Eared Monk.
Then, Ye Feng looked at the One-Eared Monk with a smirk and said, "You were saying? What kind of heavy price will I pay?"
The One-Eared Monk stared at Ye Feng, his eyes instantly turning bloodshot. "How long has it been since I last descended the mountain? To think someone has already forgotten the might of the One-Eared Monk! To think someone dares to touch a man of my Tielin Temple!"
In the next moment, his voice became terrifyingly cold and deep. He stared at Ye Feng and said, word by word, "Today, I will show you exactly what kind of existence you have provoked."
With that, his body blurred, and he was instantly in front of Ye Feng. He swung the Zen staff in his hands, bringing it down towards Ye Feng’s head.
Before the staff even arrived, a howling gale preceded it. Nangong Xue, Xiao Yufei, and Wang Luyao, who were standing next to Ye Feng, were forced to stumble back, nearly falling to the ground.
The three girls turned to look at Ye Feng and screamed, "Ye Feng, get out of the way! Quick—"
But the One-Eared Monk laughed wildly. "Dodge? In front of this old monk, he has no ability to dodge! Just stay right there for me!"
As he spoke, the staff, wrapped in a fierce wind, was already a foot above Ye Feng’s head, about to smash down upon him.
Behind him, Wang Luyao and Xiao Yufei screamed in terror and shut their eyes tightly. They couldn’t bear to watch the gruesome scene of Ye Feng’s violent death.
But in the next moment, they heard Nangong Xue’s excited shout beside them, "Look! Ye Feng’s okay! He’s okay!"
The two girls opened their eyes in confusion, and in the next second, they clapped their hands over their mouths.
They were astonished to see that Ye Feng had spread his index and middle fingers and caught the Zen staff between them.
The staff was frozen an inch from his head. No matter how hard the One-Eared Monk pushed, it wouldn’t move another fraction.
That Zen staff weighed over two hundred jin, and with the One-Eared Monk’s full force behind it, the impact force was well over a hundred thousand jin. Yet, Ye Feng had caught it easily with just two fingers. How much strength did that take? What terrifying skill was this?
The One-Eared Monk looked at Ye Feng, his pupils contracting sharply. He finally realized he had picked a fight with the wrong person—someone far more ruthless and powerful than himself.
He no longer had any desire to fight. He let go of the staff and turned to flee.
But behind him, Ye Feng chuckled and said, "How can you leave your meal ticket behind? Here, have it back!"
With that, he grabbed the Zen staff and hurled it at the monk’s back.
There was a sickening THUD, followed by the old monk’s bloodcurdling scream.
The onlookers watched as the Zen staff pierced straight through the old monk, its momentum unabated, pinning his body to the concrete wall.
The old monk coughed up mouthfuls of blood and twitched for a moment before falling completely still.
At this point, Ye Feng dusted off his hands and said nonchalantly, "With such pathetic skills, you wanted to exterminate my entire clan? Dream on."
Wang Luyao looked at Ye Feng, her eyes sparkling, and asked, "Ye Feng, you even took out the One-Eared Monk. Just how strong are you?"
Ye Feng looked at Wang Luyao with a grin. "How strong am I? You don’t know already?"
"Hmph!" Wang Luyao feigned a spit, rolling her big, beautiful eyes at him. "You lecher, you never miss a chance to make a dirty joke."
Ye Feng burst into loud laughter.
The four of them went outside. Ye Feng said, "Alright, it’s time for me to go."
Wang Luyao’s eyes were filled with reluctance to see him leave.
Beside her, Nangong Xue said with a smile, "Alright, he’s a busy man, handling tens of thousands of affairs a day. Let him go, don’t keep him from his important business!"
Ye Feng leaned close to Nangong Xue’s ear and whispered, "When did you change your name to ’Tens of Thousands of Affairs’?"
Nangong Xue, who was as innocent as a blank sheet of paper in these matters, didn’t get it at all. She looked at Ye Feng in confusion and asked, "What do you mean, my name is ’Tens of Thousands of Affairs’?"
Ye Feng held back his laughter and said, "Go home and think about it. You’ll understand."
With that, he laughed heartily, got into Cui Biao’s car, and sped away.
Watching Ye Feng leave, the three girls suddenly felt a sense of emptiness, and their eyes reddened.
They really couldn’t bear to see him go.
Nangong Xue and Wang Luyao turned to look at Xiao Yufei, both feeling a little embarrassed. They stammered, wanting to explain, but Xiao Yufei wrapped her arms around their shoulders and said sincerely:
"Back at the Martial Arts Association, you saved my life. From that moment on, you’ve been my dear sisters in my heart."
Hearing this, the two girls’ eyes lit up, and they nodded quickly. "Yes, yes, we’re dear sisters now."
Though nothing more was said, everything was understood. The barrier between the three of them instantly melted away.
Then, Xiao Yufei looked at Nangong Xue and Wang Luyao and said solemnly, "Sisters, Ye Feng is so exceptional. If we don’t work hard, we’ll definitely be left behind. We have to find a way to catch up to him."
Nangong Xue and Wang Luyao nodded quickly, then looked at Xiao Yufei. "Sister, do you have a plan?"
Xiao Yufei nodded. "I do have an idea."
