Chapter 150: Chapter 150: Scream Yourself Hoarse and No One Will Help? I Don’t Think So.
Xiao Yufei looked at Wang Luyao and Nangong Xue. "I suggest our three families join forces to establish a group. We’ll build it up, make it bigger and stronger. Then, when Ye Feng needs us, we’ll have the power to help him. That way, we can keep up with him. What do you think?"
The two women’s eyes lit up, and they nodded eagerly. Wang Luyao looked at Xiao Yufei and asked, "Sister Fei’Er, what do you plan on naming the new company?"
Xiao Yufei spoke, enunciating each word. "Chasing... Wind... Group!"
...
A Range Rover sped down the road. Inside, Cui Biao looked at Ye Feng and asked, "Boss, are we heading straight to the Dragon King Pavilion?"
Ye Feng nodded. "The people from the provincial capital’s Dragon King Pavilion have arrived. I should go meet them and lay out my instructions."
Cui Biao hesitated for a moment, then said,
"Boss, I called the people at the Dragon King Pavilion in the provincial capital. They said they’re busy and can’t schedule anything right now."
At this, Ye Feng turned his head to look at Cui Biao, his voice calm. "Did you not tell them that this... was my directive?"
Cui Biao stammered, "I did, but... but they still said they were busy. Boss, maybe they really are busy..."
In the end, Cui Biao couldn’t even convince himself.
Ye Feng let out a dry laugh. "Heh. In the few years since my master stepped back, it seems they’ve all grown bold. I’m going to go see for myself just what they’re so busy with!"
He then looked at Cui Biao. "Squad Leader Cui, I’m heading to the provincial capital. I have a task for you. Until I return, your sole mission is to protect Yufei, Luyao, Xue’Er, and their families."
Cui Biao looked at Ye Feng and declared, his voice firm as iron, "Rest assured, Young Pavilion Master. As long as I, Cui Biao, still draw breath, no one will harm them."
Ye Feng nodded and gave his instructions. "I’ll arrange for manpower for you right away. If you need funds, go directly to the Hundred Flowers Building."
Cui Biao’s eyes lit up. He nodded quickly and got out of the car.
Ye Feng took the wheel, picked up Ah Dao, and tore off toward the provincial capital of Southern Province.
...
It was early evening by the time the two arrived in the provincial capital, and the lanterns were just being lit.
Ye Feng took Ah Dao to a streetside BBQ stall. They ordered plenty of food and beer and began grilling and eating.
Just then, a few men arrived at the BBQ stall and sat down at a nearby table. One of them, a man in an Armani suit with a slick, gelled buzz cut, leaned back in his chair. He lit a cigarette, took a drag, and said with an air of boredom:
"So, fellas, what’s the plan for tonight? I’m so fucking bored."
The words were barely out of his mouth when a sweet voice called out from nearby. "Check, please!"
The man in a red jacket next to him turned to look and immediately cursed. "Holy shit, that girl’s a total knockout."
The man in the suit turned to look, his eyes lighting up as well.
A girl stood there, her jet-black hair cascading over her shoulders. She had an oval face with delicate, picturesque features. A white dress perfectly hugged her exquisite figure, making her look as if she had just stepped out of a painting.
The man in the suit’s eyes gleamed, a sleazy smile spreading across his face. "Damn right. I was just complaining about being bored tonight, and look what shows up."
He glanced at the man in the red jacket and smirked. "Six, go invite that beauty over to have a drink with us. Let’s have some fun."
"You got it." The man in the jacket snapped his fingers, stood up, and blocked the girl in the white dress just as she finished paying and was about to leave. He said with a wide grin:
"Hey beautiful, our boss wants to buy you a drink. Come on over!"
The girl frowned at him. "I don’t believe I know you."
The man in the jacket chuckled. "We’ll get to know each other after a drink, won’t we? Come on, don’t keep the boss waiting."
"I’m sorry, I have other plans," the girl said, clearly displeased.
She turned to leave, but the man in the jacket stepped in her way again. He grinned. "And what if I say you can’t go?"
The girl’s expression turned cold. "Get out of my way."
The man in the jacket sneered at her. "My boss taking an interest in you is a blessing. Who are you trying to fool with this act? Get over here."
With that, he reached out to grab the girl’s hand.
The girl dodged, crying out, "Someone, help me!"
A few onlookers couldn’t bear to watch any longer and started to get up.
Just then, the man in the jacket whirled around to face them. He let out a cold laugh. "The Xiaao family’s young master is handling business here. Anyone who interferes gets crippled."
Upon hearing this, the would-be helpers froze, their faces filled with apprehension.
Seeing this, the man in the jacket roared with laughter. "See that, little lady? Nobody dares to get involved in our business! So stop struggling and come along quietly."
He then reached out to grab her.
The girl dodged and screamed, "Help! Help me!"
The man in the jacket laughed wildly. "I already told you, no one dares to interfere! Keep screaming. You can scream until you’re hoarse, and it won’t do you any good. Now, get over here."
With that, he lunged at her.
The girl’s face went pale with fury.
But just then, a calm voice spoke up from nearby. "’Scream until you’re hoarse and no one will care?’ I find that hard to believe."
A flash of white light followed, and the man in the jacket let out a sharp scream.
Everyone looked and saw a chopstick embedded in the man’s right hand. Blood instantly began to GUSH from the wound.
The man in the suit shot to his feet, his eyes wide as he roared, "Who the fuck did that? Who was it?"
Sitting at his table, Ye Feng spoke calmly. "That would be me."
Hearing that familiar voice, the man in the suit whipped his head around. The moment he saw Ye Feng, his face turned deathly pale, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably.
The man in the jacket didn’t notice his boss’s reaction. His eyes bloodshot, he glared at Ye Feng and roared, "It was you! Who the hell do you think you are, sticking your nose in our business? I’ll be damned if I don’t beat the shit out of you today!"
He then turned to the man in the suit and said through clenched teeth, "Boss, give the order. Let’s waste this guy."
But the words had barely left his mouth when the man in the suit lunged forward as if he’d gone insane. SLAP! He delivered a vicious backhand across the jacketed man’s face, roaring, "Shut your damn mouth!"
The man in the jacket clutched his face, staring blankly at his boss.
’Siding with an outsider against your own man? What the hell is this?’
He stared at his boss, about to speak, but was stunned to see the man scurry over to Ye Feng. With a loud THUD, he dropped to his knees, his voice trembling as he cried out, "Mr... Mr. Ye!"
"Mm." Ye Feng picked up a skewer, took a bite, and looked at the kneeling man with an indifferent expression.
The man in the suit was none other than Xiaao Zhe, a man whose life Ye Feng had nearly ended.
Staring into Ye Feng’s frigid gaze, Xiaao Zhe trembled so hard he could barely stay upright. He began kowtowing frantically, his voice shrill. "Mr. Ye, I was wrong! I’ll never do it again! I’ll apologize to the young lady right now!"
He then struggled to his feet, stumbled over to the girl, and dropped to his knees with another THUD. "Miss, I was wrong! I apologize! Please, put in a good word for me! Ask Mr. Ye to spare me!"
The girl was completely stunned and took a moment to process everything. She looked at Ye Feng and quickly said, "Mister, he didn’t actually hurt me. Please, just let him go."
Only then did Ye Feng nod. "Scram."
As if granted a presidential pardon, Xiaao Zhe scrambled to his feet and fled in a panic with his men.
Everyone at the scene stared at Ye Feng, completely dumbfounded.
’He brought that arrogant tyrant Xiaao Zhe to his knees with just his presence?’
’Who in the world was this man, to command such authority?’
Just then, the girl walked up to Ye Feng’s table. "Thank you, sir," she said gratefully.
Ye Feng smiled and shook his head. "It was nothing. By the way, where are you headed? I can give you a ride, save you the trouble of running into any more riffraff."
The girl quickly told him the address, and Ye Feng’s eyes lit up. "What a coincidence!"
