Chapter 153: Chapter 153: Let’s See How Much He’s Worth

Just then, Ding Qiang came over, looked at Ye Feng, and said in a cold voice, "So it was you who broke my son’s wrist?"

Xu Qiqi rushed over, looked at Ding Qiang, and cried out, "Sir, this wasn’t his fault! It was your son who tried to force himself on me, so he stepped in!"

Ding Qiang whipped his head around to face Xu Qiqi and sneered, "So my son took a liking to you? Then you should have spread your legs and served him well, understand? A cheap slut like you shouldn’t be making so much trouble. You dare come here and whine? Believe it or not, I’ll beat you to death!"

"You..." Xu Qiqi’s face turned pale with rage at how utterly unreasonable Ding Qiang was being.

Just then, a large hand reached out from behind Xu Qiqi and delivered a heavy slap across Ding Qiang’s face.

SMACK! With a crisp crack, one side of Ding Qiang’s face immediately swelled up.

Then, a calm voice spoke up from behind them. "Like father, like son. No wonder the kid’s a piece of trash when his old man is one too. In that case, I might as well teach you both a lesson."

The one who had struck was Ye Feng!

At that, everyone on the scene froze. They never imagined that someone would dare to slap Ding Qiang’s face on the Dragon King Pavilion’s own turf.

Even Ding Qiang himself was stunned by the slap.

It took him a long moment to recover. He stared at Ye Feng, then suddenly let out a cold, mocking laugh.

"In all the years since I, Ding Qiang, made a name for myself, no one has ever dared to slap my face. You’ve really shown me something new today! A young hero, truly. But it seems your heroic career is destined to be cut short!"

With that, he drew a machete from behind his back.

Seeing this, Xu Qiqi quickly stepped forward, shielding Ye Feng. She looked at Ding Qiang and cried out desperately:

"Sir, this is all my fault! I’m begging you, please spare him..."

"Get the hell out of my way! Make another sound and I’ll chop you to pieces right along with him."

Feeling the terrifying killing intent rolling off Ding Qiang, Xu Qiqi trembled from head to toe, but she still held her ground, refusing to retreat.

Ding Qiang sneered. "Since you want to die with him, I’ll be happy to oblige!"

As he was about to charge, Wang Tao, who had been watching from the side, could no longer stand by. He stepped in to block Ding Qiang, trying to placate him. "Brother Ding, calm down. Whatever the issue is, we can talk it over!"

"My son’s wrist was broken! Discuss my ass! Today, he pays for it in blood!"

Huang Xin came over as well and said to Wang Tao, "Wang Guardian, he didn’t just slap Ding Guardian’s face. He slapped the face of our entire Dragon King Pavilion. Today, he will pay the price—a heavy one!"

Wang Tao sighed and fell silent.

Ding Qiang looked at Ye Feng and sneered. "You piece of scum, this is where it ends for you!"

With that, he raised his machete and brought it down savagely toward Ye Feng and Xu Qiqi.

Xu Qiqi screamed and clung to Ye Feng, her body shrinking into a tight ball of fear.

But in that instant, Ah Dao stepped forward, caught Ding Qiang’s wrist in his grip, and twisted.

With a sharp CRACK, Ding Qiang’s wrist was snapped clean. The machete fell to the ground with a CLANG.

Ding Qiang shrieked in pain and stumbled backward.

Ah Dao stared him down and said coldly, "You want to touch my brother? I don’t think so."

Everyone present stared at Ah Dao, completely stunned.

Who was Ding Qiang? He was one of the sixteen Guardians of the Dragon King Pavilion, a top-tier master at the Martial Venerable level! In all of the Southern Prefecture, he was the kind of person who could do whatever he pleased. Yet this big man had just snapped his wrist. How was that possible?

Ding Qiang’s eyes went red as he glared at Ah Dao. "You bastard! I didn’t think you had a few tricks up your sleeve. But if you think that’s enough to cause trouble at the Dragon King Pavilion, you’re not even close to qualified."

With that, he roared to the members of the Dragon King Pavilion, "Get him! Cut him to pieces!"

"Yes, sir!" a hundred members of the Dragon King Pavilion roared in unison. They grabbed their weapons and prepared to charge.

But just as they were about to move, Wang Tao caught sight of Ye Feng’s hand and cried out in shock.

"Everyone, stop! Stop right now!"

The Dragon King Pavilion members halted and turned to look at Wang Tao.

Ding Qiang spun around to face Wang Tao, his eyes bloodshot as he roared, "Wang Tao, are you determined to make an enemy of me today?"

Huang Xin’s expression also turned cold as he looked at Wang Tao. "Wang Guardian, what do you think you’re doing? Do you want to make an enemy of the Dragon King Pavilion?"

Wang Tao paid no attention to Huang Xin or Ding Qiang. He stumbled forward and fell to his knees before Ye Feng with a heavy THUD, his voice filled with reverence.

"Wang Tao, Guardian of the Dragon King Pavilion, pays his respects to the Young Pavilion Master!"

Behind them, Huang Xin’s face sank. He glared at Wang Tao and yelled, "What Young Pavilion Master? Wang Tao, do you hear the nonsense you’re spouting?"

Wang Tao pointed to the ring on Ye Feng’s right middle finger and shouted frantically at Huang Xin, "The Dragon King Ring! It’s the Dragon King Ring!"

Hearing this, the expressions of the Dragon King Pavilion members behind them changed dramatically. They all threw down their weapons and, one after another, fell to their knees with a series of thuds, crying out in unison:

"The members of the Dragon King Pavilion pay their respects to the Young Pavilion Master!"

When the Elder Pavilion Master went into seclusion, he left a decree: The one who wears the Dragon King Ring is the Young Pavilion Master of the Dragon King Pavilion. Any who disrespect him shall have their entire clan exterminated.

How, then, could any member of the Dragon King Pavilion dare to show disrespect?

Watching from the back, Ding Shaohui’s face became deathly pale. He never imagined that Ye Feng possessed such a terrifying status—he was someone even his own father couldn’t hope to oppose!

’Does this mean my wrist was broken for nothing?’ He turned to look at Ding Qiang, his eyes filled with helplessness.

But Ding Qiang’s face only turned colder. "So you’re the Young Pavilion Master. Let me ask you, then. You broke my son’s wrist before we’d even properly met. Is this how you treat the loyal veterans of the Dragon King Pavilion? I’m asking you, do you have any respect for us at all?"

Wang Tao was scared to death when he heard these treasonous words. He looked at Ding Qiang and shouted urgently, "Ding Guardian, you’ve gone too far!"

"You shut your mouth!" Ding Qiang roared, his bloodshot eyes locked on Wang Tao. "It wasn’t your son whose wrist was broken today, it was mine! Understand? He has to give me an explanation today."

Wang Tao: "..."

Just then, Ye Feng looked at Ding Qiang and chuckled. "You want an explanation from me?"

"That’s right," Ding Qiang shouted, puffing out his chest defiantly. "In the Dragon King Pavilion, strength is what earns respect! Don’t think you can use your title to crush people. It’s useless here."

"You will apologize to my son today and earn his forgiveness. Do that, and we can let this slide. Otherwise, this isn’t over between us!"

Wang Tao was dumbfounded. ’This is practically a rebellion!’ he thought. ’The Young Pavilion Master is sure to fly into a thunderous rage!’

He looked up at Ye Feng, only to be surprised to see that Ye Feng’s smile had grown even wider. Ye Feng ignored Ding Qiang and turned to Huang Xin. "You’re the Squad Leader here?"

Huang Xin spoke with arrogance, "I’m the Deputy Squad Leader. But the Squad Leader isn’t here, so I’m the one in charge!"

Ye Feng nodded. "Then let me ask you, what’s your take on what Ding Qiang just said?"

Huang Xin chuckled. "I think Ding Guardian has a point. We in the Dragon King Pavilion believe that strength earns respect. Besides, if you want to take charge here one day, you’ll need the support of us old-timers. If you don’t give Ding Guardian face today and make things ugly, you’ll lose his support, and with it, the support of the people. So, just apologize!"

Wang Tao shrieked at Huang Xin, "Squad Leader Huang, you mustn’t...!"

But before he could finish, Huang Xin cut him off with a cold voice, "You shut your mouth! Wang Tao, you traitor! Don’t think I can’t touch you just because you’re a Guardian. You’re too full of yourself. Now get the hell out of the Dragon King Pavilion! Scram!"

"You..." Wang Tao was so furious he trembled all over.

But just then, Ye Feng held Wang Tao back. He then looked at Huang Xin and let out another soft chuckle.

"What was that you just said? In the Dragon King Pavilion, strength is what earns respect? Excellent. Then today, I’ll see just how much strength you really have."

With that, he glanced at Ah Dao beside him and said calmly, "Go test his mettle. See what he’s really made of."

Ah Dao grunted in acknowledgment and walked straight toward Huang Xin.
