Ultimate Master in the City
Chapter 154: Scared to Death
Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Scared to Death
Huang Xin looked at Ye Feng and burst into wild laughter. "You want this fool to back you up? Let me tell you, he’s not worthy.
You really think that just because he could handle Ding Guardian, he has the right to act insolent in front of me?
You’re overthinking it. Ding Guardian is just a Tier Five Martial Venerable. Do you know what my cultivation level is? Tier Eight Martial Venerable! There are few in this entire South County who dare to be arrogant in my presence. Him? He thinks he can test me? I’ll show you who’s testing whom today!"
Wang Tao watched Ah Dao approach Huang Xin and shouted urgently, "Little brother, you’re no match for him! Come back, quickly..."
Beside them, Ding Qiang smirked coldly and said, "Come back? In your dreams. He dared to provoke Squad Leader Huang’s authority. He can just stay there..."
But before he could finish speaking, his pupils suddenly constricted. To his astonishment, he saw Ah Dao’s right hand shoot out, clamp down on Huang Xin’s neck, and lift him high into the air before slamming him onto the ground.
A deafening CRACK echoed out, immediately followed by Huang Xin’s blood-curdling scream.
Ding Qiang watched, wide-eyed, as Huang Xin was smashed directly into the concrete floor. A series of snaps from breaking bones rang out, and blood gushed from Huang Xin’s nose and mouth. The next moment, his screams cut off abruptly. His body twitched twice, then fell completely still.
Ding Qiang felt the hairs on his body stand on end. Who was Huang Xin? He was a supreme master, a Tier Eight Martial Venerable with few rivals in the entire South County! Yet, in front of this fool, he was smashed to death like a helpless kitten. ’How is this possible?’
Just then, Ah Dao said impatiently, "If you’re going to fight, then fight. What’s with all the yammering?"
Everyone stared at Ah Dao, completely dumbfounded!
This big oaf... was actually that strong.
Ding Qiang looked at Ah Dao, his entire body trembling. He finally realized he had picked a fight with someone he couldn’t handle. He finally knew he’d provoked an existence he should never have crossed. All his arrogance vanished. He stumbled over to Ye Feng and dropped to his knees with a THUD, speaking respectfully:
"Dragon King Pavilion Guardian Ding Qiang, pays his respects to the Young Pavilion Master!"
Ye Feng looked at Ding Qiang and chuckled. "Weren’t you the one who wanted me to pay a heavy price? Come, tell me, what price did you want me to pay?"
"I wouldn’t dare! This subordinate was wrong, so wrong!"
As he spoke, he began kowtowing repeatedly, like a chicken pecking at rice. His head split open and blood streamed down, but he didn’t dare stop.
Ye Feng looked at Ding Qiang and asked again, "When Squad Leader Cui of Jiangcheng tried to mobilize his men, were you the one who stopped him?"
"Young Pavilion Master, it was all my foolishness! It was me and Squad Leader Huang—oh, no, Huang Qixin—we plotted together. We wanted to put you in your place, to make you come and beg us yourself. It was all my fault! I’ll never dare to do it again!"
Ye Feng straightened up and, looking at Wang Tao beside him, asked with a smile, "Wang Guardian, what is the first iron law of the Dragon King Pavilion?"
Wang Tao replied respectfully, "The first iron law of the Dragon King Pavilion is: those who dare to defy the authority of the Pavilion Master shall have their nine generations executed!"
"No!" The moment Ding Qiang heard this, he was so terrified his bones felt like jelly. He kowtowed frantically toward Ye Feng and shrieked, "Young Pavilion Master, I was wrong! I’ll never dare to do it again! Please, I beg you, give me one more chance!"
But before he could finish his plea, Ah Dao had already rushed over and slapped a palm down on his head.
With a sickening SQUELCH, Ding Qiang’s head was driven straight into his chest cavity.
Ding Qiang didn’t even have time to scream before he collapsed to the ground, dead.
Ah Dao then said with displeasure, "Daring to mess with my big brother? You were courting death!"
Everyone on site stared at Ah Dao, the hairs on their bodies standing on end. ’Now *that’s* a man of brutal action and few words. A truly ruthless person!’
Then, Ah Dao turned his head to look at Ding Shaohui behind him. "So you’re the one who wanted to find someone to take care of my big brother?"
Seeing the undisguised killing intent in Ah Dao’s eyes, Ding Shaohui was so terrified his spirit broke. He let out a scream as a torrent of blood erupted from his mouth, visibly mixed with fragments of his internal organs.
The next moment, he collapsed limply to the ground, twitched a few times, and then moved no more.
Ding Shaohui had actually been scared to death by Ah Dao.
The members of the Dragon King Pavilion at the scene remained kneeling, not daring to move a muscle.
Just then, Ye Feng looked at Wang Tao beside him and said calmly, "Where is the Squad Leader of the South County Dragon King Pavilion? Tell him to get his ass over here to see me, now!"
Wang Tao nodded quickly, took out his phone, and made a call. Twenty minutes later, a Hummer roared up, screeching to a halt in the parking lot. A man got out, jogged all the way over, and dropped to his knees with a THUD before Ye Feng, saying respectfully, "Tang Min, Squad Leader of the South County Dragon King Pavilion, pays his respects to the Young Pavilion Master!"
Ye Feng leaned down, looked at Tang Min, and said calmly, "Scum like Huang Xin and Ding Qiang have appeared in the Dragon King Pavilion, and you just turn a blind eye?"
"Young Pavilion Master, I was wrong!" Tang Min cried out hastily.
Ye Feng asked again, "Is this how you manage the Dragon King Pavilion?"
Tang Min’s face went pale with fright. He stammered, "Young Pavilion Master, this subordinate was wrong."
Ye Feng looked at him and chuckled. "If you don’t manage anything, what use does the Dragon King Pavilion have for you?"
Behind them, Ah Dao’s expression turned cold, and he was about to step forward and act. But just then, Wang Tao hurried over and called out urgently to Ye Feng:
"Young Pavilion Master, please allow me to explain! Squad Leader Tang has a seventy-year-old mother at home whose health has always been poor. He has been on leave recently to care for her. That’s why Huang Xin and Ding Qiang colluded and dared to act so recklessly. In truth, Squad Leader Tang is a good man."
Only then did Ye Feng raise a hand to stop Ah Dao. He looked at Tang Min and said calmly, "Is what Wang Guardian says true?"
Tang Min quickly and respectfully replied, "Reporting to the Young Pavilion Master, what Wang Guardian said is correct. My mother’s health has always been poor, and her condition flares up often. So I have been at home caring for her and have neglected my duties. I hope the Young Pavilion Master will forgive my offense!"
Only then did Ye Feng nod. "Get up."
"Thank you, Young Pavilion Master!" Tang Min then rose to his feet.
Ye Feng looked at Tang Min. "You held the position but didn’t perform the duties. That is a dereliction of duty, and for that, you must also be punished. Starting today, you will go to the Jiangcheng Dragon King Pavilion and assist Squad Leader Cui in protecting my family. Are you willing?"
Tang Min nodded quickly. "This subordinate is willing!"
Ye Feng gave a slight nod, then turned to Wang Tao beside him. "Wang Guardian, I have seen your actions. Your loyalty is commendable. Therefore, I announce that starting today, you are appointed Squad Leader of the Jiangcheng Dragon King Pavilion branch."
Wang Tao immediately knelt and exclaimed, "Thank you, Young Pavilion Master! Wang Tao will not disappoint you!"
Ye Feng nodded, then looked at Xu Qiqi beside him and said with a smile, "Qiqi, you don’t have to worry now, do you?"
Xu Qiqi stared blankly at Ye Feng before it finally dawned on her. She exclaimed in pleasant surprise, "Big Brother, so you’re the Young Pavilion Master of the Dragon King Pavilion! Now I can finally relax. Big Brother, I have to go back to the Hundred Flowers Building now. Goodbye!"
Ye Feng nodded. "Call me if you need anything!"
The moment ago when Xu Qiqi disregarded her own safety to stand in front of him had genuinely moved Ye Feng.
"Mhm!" Xu Qiqi nodded her little head and then left cheerfully. Then Ye Feng turned his head to look at Tang Min. "Take me to see the old lady."
Tang Min’s eyes lit up. He quickly nodded, went to open the car door, and let Ye Feng and Ah Dao get in. Then he drove toward his home.
Tang Min looked at Ye Feng and asked, "Young Pavilion Master, I heard from Squad Leader Wang when he called me that you were planning to transfer men to Jiangcheng. Is something going on?"
Ye Feng replied nonchalantly, "I can’t stay in Jiangcheng all the time. I’m having Squad Leader Cui transfer people over to ensure my family’s safety."
"What’s the old lady’s condition?" Ye Feng asked, looking at Tang Min.
Tang Min sighed. "My mother has epilepsy. I’ve sought medical help everywhere, but there’s been no improvement. In fact, her condition is getting worse. I’m worried sick."
After speaking, he looked at Ye Feng and asked, "Young Pavilion Master, you know medicine too?"
Ye Feng replied calmly, "A little."
Hearing this, a hint of disappointment flickered in Tang Min’s eyes.
