Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Su Youning, Just What Kind of Amazing Person Are You?

Zhang Liang strode over to Ye Feng and fell to his knees with a THUD. He spoke, full of remorse, "Divine Doctor, you are the true Divine Doctor. My skills are poor and my knowledge is shallow. I have offended you, please forgive me!"

Tang Min’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. Who was Zhang Liang? He was a renowned physician of the Great Xia Empire, a name on the list of the nation’s most revered doctors. He was notoriously arrogant and proud; countless dignitaries and nobles had to bow and scrape just to see him. But today, after being utterly humiliated by Ye Feng, he wasn’t angry? He was kneeling?

How... how was this possible?

Tang Min looked at Ye Feng, filled with silent admiration. ’The Young Pavilion Master is in a class of his own. Incredible!’

Tang Min thought that surely Ye Feng would accept the apology now. But to his astonishment, Ye Feng completely ignored the kneeling Zhang Liang. Instead, he looked at Tang Min and said calmly, "I’ll write a prescription. Get the herbs according to the formula. I guarantee that after one course of treatment, the old lady will be as good as new."

Tang Min was utterly stunned.

’So domineering?’

But he quickly came to his senses, nodded, and went before Ye Feng. He dropped to his knees with a THUD and exclaimed, "Thank you, Young Pavilion Master! Thank you for saving my mother.

Tomorrow, once my mother’s condition has stabilized, I will rush to Jiangcheng!"

Ye Feng said considerately, "There’s no need to rush. You should stay home and take care of the old lady."

Tang Min shook his head. "You aren’t in Jiangcheng right now. Your family needs my protection. I must leave for Jiangcheng tomorrow."

Looking at Tang Min, Ye Feng nodded to himself. ’He’s a man who knows how to repay a kindness.’

Tang Min smiled at the girl next to him and said, "I can rest easy with Youyou here to take care of her grandmother."

Then he looked at the girl. "Youyou, come and greet your uncle."

Tang Youyou pouted. "Oh, Dad! He looks about my age. Calling him ’big brother’ would be one thing, but how can I call him ’uncle’?"

They all laughed.

Ye Feng wrote a phone number for Tang Youyou. "Youyou, call me anytime if anything changes with your grandmother. I’ll come over and take care of her."

Tang Min looked at Ye Feng, his jaw set with determination. "It’s a deal, Young Pavilion Master. I’m entrusting my mother to you, and you can entrust your family to me. As long as I, Tang Min, am still breathing, I swear they will be safe and sound."

Ye Feng clapped Tang Min on the shoulder, gave a slight nod, and then took his leave.

Behind them, Zhang Liang started to give chase but then stopped, his face pale. "I wanted to ask the Little Divine Doctor to take me as his disciple," he said, "but I’ve made him angry. This won’t do. I have to find a way to apologize and earn his forgiveness!"

With that, he shouldered his medical kit and staggered away.

Just then, as Ye Feng reached the entrance, he saw a man pacing back and forth.

The man’s eyes lit up when he saw Ye Feng. He rushed over and said excitedly, "Young Pavilion Master, I’ve been waiting for you."

Ye Feng recognized him at a glance—it was the Patriarch of the Xiaao family, Xiaao Zhan.

After speaking, Xiaao Zhan turned and roared at a trembling Xiaao Zhe standing nearby, "Get over here!"

Xiaao Zhe scurried over. Xiaao Zhan kicked the back of his knees, forcing him to the ground before Ye Feng. Then, he turned to Ye Feng and said through gritted teeth:

"Young Pavilion Master, I already warned this rebellious son of mine to behave himself. I never imagined he’d go out bullying people again today. I can’t control him anymore, so I’m handing him over to you. Whether you want to toss him in the river or dig a hole and bury him, just say the word. I will obey."

Terrified, Xiaao Zhe kowtowed repeatedly to Ye Feng, crying, "Young Pavilion Master, I’ll never do it again! I beg you, please spare my life!"

Ye Feng almost laughed. ’Xiaao Zhan is putting on quite a show for my benefit.’

’Still, the fact that he’s this self-aware is enough.’

So he looked at Xiaao Zhe and nodded. "As long as you recognize your mistake, that’s what matters. Get up."

Xiaao Zhan breathed a long sigh of relief, silently congratulating himself on his gamble paying off.

He sent Xiaao Zhe flying with a kick and cursed, "If you ever dare to act so arrogant again, even if the Young Pavilion Master lets you off, I won’t! Now get lost!"

Xiaao Zhe scrambled away, and Xiaao Zhan turned back to Ye Feng, bowing obsequiously. "Young Pavilion Master, regarding what happened in Jiangcheng, I was out of line. I have come today to sincerely apologize. I swear to you, I will never act so arrogant and domineering again. If I break this vow, may I die by your hand."

"There is no greater virtue than to admit one’s errors and correct them." With that, he and Ah Dao turned and walked toward their car. Reaching the vehicle, Ye Feng took out his phone and made a call.

"Second Sister, you can consider resuming our cooperation with the Nanjun Xiaao family."

After speaking, he got straight into the car, which then sped away.

Behind them, Xiaao Zhan was so excited he nearly jumped for joy.

’I gambled right again! The Xiaao family can return to its former glory!’

He watched Ye Feng’s car disappear into the distance and murmured:

"Young Pavilion Master, from this day forward, I, Xiaao Zhan, will follow you. Through life and death, without regret!"

...

Ye Feng and Ah Dao checked into a hotel. Ye Feng picked up his phone, glanced again at a text from his Sixth Master, and murmured to himself:

"Su Youning, just what kind of incredible person are you to earn such high praise from Sixth Master? Well, tomorrow, I suppose the answer will be revealed."

...

The next morning, Ye Feng and Ah Dao drove to Nanjun’s Hundred Herbs Hall. They got out of the car and walked straight inside. Ye Feng scanned the people within and asked calmly:

"Who is Su Youning?"

Everyone turned to look at Ye Feng.

His gaze swept the room and fell on someone behind the counter who quickly lowered their head.

’Holy shit, what is she doing here?!’

A sun hat and a large mask hid most of her face, and she wore a loose white lab coat. The getup, ironically, made her instantly recognizable.

It was the girl from the Hundred Flowers Building last night.

Just then, a short-haired girl rushed over. Glaring at Ye Feng, she roared through clenched teeth:

"Well, look what we have here. You bastard, you actually came all the way here to hit on girls? Get lost, now! Or I’ll get rough."

Ye Feng looked at the short-haired girl. "Look, miss, let’s cut the crap and get down to business. Su Youning is my fiancée. I’m here today to fulfill our marriage contract..."

Before Ye Feng could finish, the short-haired girl stared at him and let out a cold laugh. "Oh, really? You? Our Ningning’s fiancé? Are you even worthy?

Let me ask you, do you have a luxury car? A high-end villa? You don’t have either, and you think you can win over our Ningning? You won’t even get past me."

The short-haired girl had barely finished speaking when the roar of a powerful engine echoed from the entrance of the Hundred Herbs Hall. A Rolls-Royce Phantom screeched to a halt outside. The door opened, and a man in a suit hurried in. He came before Ye Feng, respectfully offered him a car key, and said:

"Sir, Patriarch Xiaao heard you’ve just arrived in Nanjun. For your convenience, he had me deliver this Rolls-Royce. He said you can make do with it for now. If there’s another model you’d prefer, he said he’ll buy it and have it delivered to you."

Then, he handed over another set of keys. "These are for Villa Number One in the Fushou Mountain residential area. The Patriarch said you can make do with it for now. He also said if you don’t like the environment there, just name any villa you prefer, and he will acquire it for you immediately."

At his words, everyone in the hall was left dumbfounded.

Good heavens! A Rolls-Royce was just something to "make do" with? Then what car *wasn’t* just "making do"?

And the Fushou Mountain villa district was the most luxurious residential area in Nanjun, where a single villa easily cost hundreds of millions! Villa Number One, in particular, was valued at an astronomical one billion. And he was supposed to "make do" with that? What place wouldn’t be just "making do"? The imperial palace? The Jade Emperor’s Heavenly Court?

The way everyone looked at Ye Feng changed in an instant.

Just who was this tycoon, to be so extravagantly domineering?
