Chapter 261: Chapter 261: The Life-Saving Mountain-Burning Fire Acupuncture Technique

Ye Feng looked at the Imperial Physician and chuckled. "So you’ve made your diagnosis and determined he’s beyond cure? With skill like that, I’d say you should stop embarrassing yourself in public."

"You..." The Imperial Physician stared at Ye Feng, his entire body trembling with rage.

To have reached the position of Imperial Physician meant he was one of the top experts in the medical world, a figure everyone admired. But today, to be so thoroughly humiliated by Ye Feng... He felt like his lungs were about to explode. He turned to the Queen and shouted in a flustered rage:

"Your Majesty, look at this scoundrel! He is far too insolent!"

The Queen’s expression turned icy. "Guards! Drag him out and execute him by mace!"

"I’d like to see who dares touch him." Long Xi’er shielded Ye Feng, glaring at the guards who had rushed in. She rebuked them coldly, "Until he has treated my Imperial Father, anyone who dares to touch him makes an enemy of me."

The guards froze in place.

The Queen looked at Long Xi’er and spoke patiently. "My dear Princess, he’s just a charlatan. Please stop trusting him. Don’t let him torment your Imperial Father any longer..."

"I insist on letting him try today," Long Xi’er said to the Queen, her tone firm and resolute.

"You..." The Queen’s expression grew cold, but she ultimately suppressed her fury. She stared at Ye Feng and said with a glacial voice, "Fine. I will give you one chance today. If you actually manage to cure the Emperor, we’ll let this go. But if you can’t, that proves you’re a charlatan, and I will personally have you torn limb from limb. When that time comes, no one will be able to protect you."

Ye Feng didn’t even spare her a glance. He walked straight to the side of the imperial bed, pulled out his needle case, and deftly plucked out a silver needle. He pierced one of Long Ao’s major acupoints, inserting it an inch deep. Three insertions, three withdrawals; a slow lift, a firm press...

Just then, the Imperial Physician standing behind them watched Ye Feng’s technique and cried out, "Burning Mountain Fire! That’s the Burning Mountain Fire Array!"

"Hmph." The Queen shot the Imperial Physician a cold look. "Shouting and screaming in the Emperor’s chambers. Have you forgotten all decorum?"

The Imperial Physician looked at the Queen, his voice trembling as he explained, "No, Your Majesty, it’s not that! This Burning Mountain Fire technique is simply heaven-defying! It was created by the Divine Doctor Bian Que and is said to have the power to bring the dead back to life. But the procedure is so complex that almost no one could master it. It was thought to be lost to history! I never imagined that he would actually know this technique!"

The Queen instantly understood the Imperial Physician’s implication, and her expression changed drastically. She was just about to speak when Long Xi’er, at the side of the bed, cried out in excitement, "He’s awake! Imperial Father is awake!"

The Queen’s pupils contracted sharply before she quickly composed herself. She looked at Ye Feng and said coldly, "This is merely a temporary surge of vitality, a final burst of life before the end. Princess, don’t let him fool you."

Recalling the events of the previous day, Long Xi’er’s face once again filled with worry.

But Ye Feng paid them no mind. He picked up the beverage bottle Long Xi’er had given him, looked at her, and asked one more time, "Long Xi’er, let me ask you one last time. Are you, or are you not... you-know-what?"

Long Xi’er instantly blew her top.

Ye Feng smiled faintly and brought the bottle to Long Ao’s lips. "Your Majesty, this is the sacred antidote. Drink up."

Long Ao nodded and took a large gulp. GULP. The next moment, his expression became incredibly colorful.

Long Xi’er, standing nearby, never imagined that Ye Feng would use the "medicinal catalyst" in such a way. Her pretty face flushed crimson, and she wished she could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.

She absolutely despised Ye Feng at that moment. Gritting her teeth, she vowed internally, ’Ye Feng, oh, Ye Feng... if your treatment doesn’t work, even if the Queen doesn’t kill you, I’ll never let you get away with this.’

But a few minutes later, Long Ao’s complexion miraculously returned to normal. He even sat up on his own, having clearly regained his strength. He looked at Long Xi’er and said, "Xi’er, I’m hungry."

Long Xi’er was so thrilled she was on the verge of tears. Long Ao had been ill for so long, surviving only on IV drips, barely consuming any food or water. For him to have an appetite now was a clear sign that his imperial health was improving!

She quickly nodded and arranged for someone to bring the imperial meal.

Before long, a eunuch from the imperial kitchen arrived with the meal. The Queen hurried over to receive it, taking a bowl of ginseng and bird’s nest porridge. She sat down beside Long Ao and said with a smile, "Your Majesty, you’re finally awake. I’m so happy. Here, let me feed you."

With that, she scooped up a spoonful of porridge, blew on it to cool it, and was about to bring it to Long Ao’s lips.

But just then, Ye Feng called out from behind them, "Your Majesty, I’d advise you not to eat anything she feeds you. I’ve been here twice, and both times I’ve seen her practically praying for your death. So, I have a strong suspicion that she’s the one who poisoned you."

"AHEM, AHEM, AHEM..." Several people in the room broke into furious, awkward coughs.

Even if you have a grudge, aren’t you supposed to backstab them discreetly? Who confronts someone so openly? And the Queen, of all people?

’He’s just making a powerful enemy! Offending the Queen like that... he must have a death wish!’

And just as expected, the Queen’s face turned livid. She stared at Ye Feng and roared, "You villain! How dare you slander me so! Guards! Seize him and execute him by mace!"

But Long Ao spoke calmly, "The Divine Doctor saved my life. We shouldn’t take his life over a few careless words, should we?"

"Your Majesty, this knave is utterly disrespectful!" the Queen cried out.

But Ye Feng twisted the knife, looking at the Queen with a broad grin. "You don’t want to kill me because I was disrespectful," he said. "You want to kill me because I can cure the Emperor. You want me dead so His Majesty will die without a cure. Am I right?"

"You... you..." The Queen trembled with rage. If Long Ao hadn’t been there, she truly would have had Ye Feng torn limb from limb.

She turned to Long Ao and pleaded, "Your Majesty, don’t listen to him trying to sow discord! This man’s heart is utterly venomous..."

But Long Ao cut her off calmly. "That’s enough. I am perfectly capable of judging right from wrong myself. You’re tired. Go and get some rest."

He finished with a wave of his hand.

The Queen resentfully set down the bowl of porridge and turned to leave.

The Emperor dismissed everyone else, then looked at Ye Feng with a smile. "Divine Doctor, aren’t you afraid of offending the Queen by speaking so brazenly?"

Ye Feng said with a shrug, "I have no intention of becoming a court official, so what does it matter if I offend her? That old hag has been targeting me from the start, so I’m just returning the favor. Let me tell you, that Queen is bad news. You’d better be on your guard, or next time she poisons you, you’ll be done for good..."

"AHEM, AHEM..." Long Ao coughed violently. ’Does he have to be so blatant about sowing discord?!’

He looked at Ye Feng with a wry smile. "Alright, Divine Doctor, I can handle that myself. Let’s get back to the matter at hand. I shouldn’t have another relapse now, should I?"

Ye Feng held up the mineral water bottle and, grinning at Long Ao, said, "Whether or not you have a relapse all depends on this bottle of medicine right here in my hand." ℯℯ𝘭.

Long Ao’s eyes lit up. "Well then, give me the medicine."

Ye Feng held out his hand. "You want the medicine? Fine. Trade the Jade Pendant for it."

Long Ao looked at Ye Feng and shook his head, smiling. "I have an agreement with your master. The day Xi’er becomes pregnant is the day I return the Jade Pendant to you."

Ye Feng smiled back. "You don’t return my Jade Pendant, I don’t give you the sacred antidote."

Long Xi’er, standing nearby, couldn’t take it anymore. She shouted at Long Ao, "Imperial Father, don’t listen to his nonsense! What sacred antidote? That’s clearly just..."

Ye Feng turned to face Long Xi’er, a smirk on his face. "Go on, why don’t you tell everyone what it is?"
