Chapter 288: Chapter 288: With Me Here, the Wolf Clan Won’t Dare to Be Disrespectful

However, Ye Feng just smiled. "It’s useful. This much time is enough for us to reach the summit of Wild Wolf Valley."

"Why go to the summit?" Meng Jiaxin asked, looking at Ye Feng in surprise. "If we do that, won’t we be completely cut off?"

Ye Feng smiled faintly. "Don’t worry, I have a plan. Give the order. Have everyone retreat quietly to the summit."

Seeing Ye Feng’s confident expression and realizing they had no other way out, Meng Jiaxin gritted her teeth. She gave a few quiet orders to her adjutant, who acknowledged them and led the soldiers in a quiet retreat toward the mountain summit.

An hour later, the black fog finally dispersed, and clarity returned to the valley.

Michael sneered. "Finally ran out of Spiritual Power, have you? You’re all still going to die by my hand."

Just then, an operations staff officer approached and reported to Michael, "Vice Marshal, Meng Jiaxin and her routed soldiers are gone from the valley. They must have fled toward the mountain behind it."

Michael sneered. "Fled toward the mountain? That mountain is the Wolf Tribe’s territory. For them, it’s a dead end. This time, they have nowhere to run.

Relay my order! Pursue them at once! We must annihilate these remnants before dawn."

The operations staff officer spoke cautiously. "Vice Marshal, Wild Wolf Valley is a canyon flanked by peaks. It’s easy to defend and hard to attack. If the enemy lays an ambush, we will suffer heavy losses."

"Haha..." Before the staff officer could finish, he was cut off by Michael’s wild laughter. "In the face of absolute strength, any and all schemes are nothing more than petty tricks!"

With a wave of his hand, he declared imperiously, "All soldiers, charge! We must end this battle before dawn!"

"CHARGE!"

"KILL!"

The coalition soldiers roared, brandishing their weapons as they charged into the valley.

On the summit, Meng Jiaxin watched the tide of coalition soldiers surge forward. She looked at Ye Feng and sighed. "The moment their army charges up here will be the moment we’re all wiped out. Ye Feng, you were too reckless."

Ye Feng just smiled. "Charge up here? They wish."

Then, his voice turned cold. "All soldiers, fall back."

With that, he walked to the edge of a massive boulder, pressed his palms against it, and roared, "MOVE!"

The soldiers behind him watched, stunned, as Ye Feng single-handedly budged the massive boulder, which must have weighed a thousand tons. It began to roll forward slowly. As the slope steepened, the boulder picked up speed until it was thundering down, triggering a large-scale collapse of the surrounding rock face. Instantly, countless boulders went whistling down into the valley below.

Down below, the operations staff officer looked up and shrieked, "Landslide! It’s a landslide! All soldiers, take cover!"

The coalition soldiers saw the tumbling boulders and scattered in terror.

But the valley was nothing but sheer cliffs; there was nowhere to hide. They screamed and tried to flee back toward the valley entrance, but the dense mass of soldiers behind them blocked any escape. They could only watch in horror as the boulders descended, crushing them where they stood.

The valley instantly filled with bloodcurdling screams. Countless men were buried beneath the rockslide. Bodies and blood were everywhere, and the dying wailed in agony. In a flash, the entire valley had become an Asura’s hell.

Michael’s face was ashen with rage as he stared at the carnage in the valley.

Just then, the disheveled staff officer stumbled over to Michael and said, his eyes red, "Vice Marshal, we... we lost five hundred thousand men in the valley."

Michael trembled with fury, roaring, "That treacherous, shameless Meng Jiaxin! Today, I will tear her limb from limb and avenge our fallen soldiers!"

With a wave of his hand, he bellowed, "Soldiers, charge! We must kill these dregs today!"

With that, he spurred his horse forward, leading the charge back into the valley.

Seeing the devastating casualties among the coalition forces, the Eastern Domain soldiers on the summit erupted in cheers.

But Meng Jiaxin’s face remained clouded with worry. She looked at Ye Feng and sighed, "Ye Feng, this will only stop them for a little while. Once they charge up here, we’ll still have nowhere to run."

Ye Feng gestured behind them with a smile. "Isn’t that our way out right there?"

Meng Jiaxin turned, and her face fell. "Ye Feng, do you know whose territory this is? This mountain belongs to the Wolf Tribe.

When our war with the coalition began, the Wolf Tribe issued a statement. They declared they would not take part in our conflict, but that neither side was to set foot in their territory. They said they would treat any trespasser as an invader and fight them to the death with the full might of their tribe.

So that’s not a way out. It’s just another battlefield where we’ll be slaughtered."

Ye Feng chuckled. "Don’t worry. As long as I’m here, the Wolf Tribe won’t dare to be impolite."

With that, he turned and strode directly toward the entrance to the Wolf Tribe’s lands.

Meng Jiaxin’s expression changed drastically. "Ye Feng!" she called out urgently. "The Wolf Tribe is incredibly fierce! With our current strength, we stand no chance against them! Don’t be rash, come back!"

Ye Feng just smiled. "Don’t worry. The Wolf Tribe wouldn’t dare attack me."

He had already reached the entrance to their territory. His voice boomed, "Bartel, Chieftain of the Wolf Tribe! Come and see me, Ye Feng, at once!"

The words had barely left Ye Feng’s lips when the sound of mechanisms whirred from within the Wolf Tribe’s territory. Meng Jiaxin watched in horror as countless massive crossbows were aimed at Ye Feng, and a terrifying killing intent locked onto him.

Moments later, several hundred people emerged from the forest.

A burly man in wolf pelts led them. He stared at Ye Feng and demanded coldly, "Who are you to trespass on the lands of the Wolf Tribe?"

Meng Jiaxin quickly stepped forward from behind him. Forcing a smile, she said to the burly man, "Friend, we mean no offense..."

The burly man’s gaze fell on Meng Jiaxin, and his expression turned cold. "Meng Jiaxin. So it’s you. The Wolf Tribe made it clear we would not interfere in your war with the coalition, nor would we permit either side to enter our domain. And yet today you dare break our pact and invade our lands. You’re courting death."

He roared, "All warriors, prepare to fire the heavy crossbows!"

Before the order could be carried out, Ye Feng blurred into motion. In an instant, he was in front of the burly man, his hand clamped around the man’s throat, lifting him off the ground. Ye Feng’s voice was ice. "The first person to fire a bolt, he dies!"

Everyone froze.

The burly man was Monte, grandson of the Wolf Tribe’s chieftain, Bartel. Bartel doted on the boy, so none of the tribesmen dared to disregard Monte’s life by attacking Ye Feng or Meng Jiaxin.

The situation was at a stalemate.

Monte glared at Ye Feng, his eyes bloodshot with rage. "Fine! You dare to lay a hand on me? You’re declaring war on the entire Wolf Tribe! Excellent."

Then he roared, "Sound the horn! Summon all our Wolf Tribe brothers! Today, I’m going to wipe these people out!"

A piercing horn blast immediately echoed throughout the valley.

Soon, Meng Jiaxin could see countless figures swarming toward them from the direction of the Wolf Tribe’s settlement.

The color drained from Meng Jiaxin’s face.

’This is it,’ she thought, ’we’ve completely alienated the Wolf Tribe. Now we’ll have to fight them to the death!’
