Chapter 290: Chapter 290: The Paper People Go Crazy

Ye Feng chuckled slyly and said, "Senior Sister, does this mean you’re accepting my bet?"

Meng Jiaxin simply shut her mouth.

She finally understood that when talking to a smooth operator like him, she was bound to lose no matter what she said.

Just then, Bartel personally brought in their meal.

Meng Jiaxin was starving and began to devour her food, forgetting all about her image.

Ye Feng just watched Meng Jiaxin for a moment, then suddenly said, "Senior Sister, you’re so beautiful."

"PFFT..." Meng Jiaxin sprayed a mouthful of tea all over Ye Feng’s face. She glared at him, shouting in embarrassed fury, "You brat, can’t you see there’s a guest here?!"

The moment she said this, Bartel, who was standing nearby, rose to his feet, laughed heartily, and left.

Meng Jiaxin immediately realized how inappropriate her words had sounded. Her face flushed red as she looked at Bartel and said, "Old Chieftain, that’s not what I meant."

But Bartel had already left the room, still smiling.

Meng Jiaxin glared at Ye Feng, crying out in vexation, "It’s all your fault, you bastard! If you ever dare say such things again, I’ll bite you to death!"

But Ye Feng’s next words nearly made her explode with rage.

Ye Feng glanced at a certain part of Meng Jiaxin’s body and asked meaningfully, "How would you bite me?"

Seeing the look in his eyes, Meng Jiaxin instantly understood. Ye Feng was being suggestive again. Furious, she reached out, grabbed his ear, and twisted it a full two hundred and seventy degrees.

The room was immediately filled with Ye Feng’s bloodcurdling screams.

But just then, the mournful sound of a horn echoed from the direction of the mountaintop.

Soon after, Bartel entered the room, his expression grave. He looked at Ye Feng and said, "Benefactor, the coalition forces have begun their attack."

Meng Jiaxin shot to her feet and said coldly, "Then we fight."

She then roared to the outside, "Second-in-command, heed my order! Immediately gather all our men and prepare for battle."

But Ye Feng just smiled and shook his head. "Senior Sister, the troops are exhausted and haven’t recovered yet. Let them continue to rest."

With that, he turned and walked outside.

Meng Jiaxin also felt for the soldiers. Looking at her second-in-command who had just rushed over, she ordered, "Let the men rest a while longer. Await my signal."

After saying this, she followed Ye Feng.

At this point, Bartel said to Ye Feng, "Benefactor, let’s summon the wolf pack to join the fight!"

Ye Feng shook his head and said calmly, "It’s not time for that yet. You, just bring the paper figures and follow me."

"Are those things really going to work?" Meng Jiaxin asked worriedly.

Ye Feng smiled faintly. "You’ll see whether they work or not soon enough."

The next moment, his expression turned cold. "I’ll make sure every last one of these invading bastards stays here for good."

Instantly, a terrifying killing intent filled the air.

Meng Jiaxin and Bartel couldn’t help but shiver.

The group quickly arrived at the valley entrance. It was already a scene of carnage, a mountain of corpses in a sea of blood. The coalition soldiers were surging forward like a tide, and the Wolf Clan warriors could no longer hold them back, retreating step by step.

Just then, Tut, his face covered in blood, ran over. He looked at Bartel and shouted breathlessly,

"Grandfather, we can’t hold on any longer!"

At that moment, Michael, who was behind the attacking line, spotted Bartel. His face instantly turned icy. "You old fool! How dare you break our agreement and help the soldiers of Great Xia. It seems your Wolf Clan no longer wishes to exist. In that case, I will wipe out your clan today!"

With that, he roared, "Soldiers, charge! Slaughter the Wolf Clan for me today!"

"CHARGE!" the coalition soldiers roared, surging forward like a tidal wave.

Meng Jiaxin looked at Ye Feng and yelled anxiously, "Ye Feng, I should just call my soldiers up and fight them to the death!"

Ye Feng said calmly, "There’s no need. I alone am enough to deal with these ants."

Then he looked at Bartel beside him. "Lay out all the paper figures."

Bartel turned and waved to the Wolf Clan members behind him.

They quickly laid all the paper figures out on the ground.

From the rear, Michael watched Ye Feng and said through gritted teeth, "You bastard, I know you can set up some grand Array, but I came prepared today. I had my brothers attack from different directions. Let’s see if your great Array can stop us now."

But Ye Feng paid him no mind. He formed a hand seal with his right hand and chanted an incantation. The next moment, he pointed at the paper figures and shouted, "Go!"

To everyone’s astonishment, the paper figures rose on their own, as if lifted by an invisible wind. They quickly filled out, and within a few breaths, they had grown to the size of normal men.

Ye Feng pointed forward and roared, "Attack!"

The tens of thousands of paper figures instantly charged toward the coalition army.

Michael, at the rear, burst into unrestrained laughter. "You think you can kill people with these paper-mâché toys? You’re dreaming!

"You bastard, I bet you’re out of Spiritual Power and have run out of tricks. To think you’d try to use this junk against my grand army... you must be joking. I’ll show you just how my brothers will destroy these pathetic props of yours."

He then roared, "Brothers, get them! Tear these things to shreds!"

The coalition soldiers raised their weapons and swung at the paper figures charging toward them.

Michael sneered from the rear. "See? Your paper figures are utterly fragile..."

But the words had barely left his mouth when a scene unfolded that made his pupils contract. He watched in astonishment as the soldiers’ weapons struck the paper figures, producing the clang of metal on metal.

Not only did the paper figures not shatter, but they were completely unscathed.

The next moment, the paper figures pounced into the ranks of the coalition soldiers like mad beasts, scratching and biting ferociously.

Michael watched, wide-eyed, as the coalition soldiers who were scratched or bitten went rigid, their expressions turning vacant. A moment later, as if possessed, they turned and began to attack the comrades around them, scratching and biting.

More and more coalition soldiers fell victim, turning on their own brothers-in-arms.

The number of afflicted soldiers grew exponentially. In just a few short minutes, over a hundred thousand men had turned into madmen, frantically attacking the coalition soldiers around them.

Michael’s face turned ashen. He roared, "They’ve been cursed! Kill them! Kill them all!"

The coalition soldiers gritted their teeth and attacked the comrades beside them.

But the cursed soldiers were now incredibly agile and possessed immense strength, making them difficult to kill. Instead, even more soldiers were afflicted, turning on their own allies.

It was like a plague spreading through their ranks. Swathes of coalition soldiers died unnatural deaths, leaving the ground littered with corpses.

Witnessing this scene, Michael’s face turned white as a sheet. He now understood that these paper figures were even more terrifying than that Array.

He turned to look at Ye Feng, who was still chanting his incantation, and his eyes instantly turned bloodshot. "You bastard! I’m going to kill you, the cause of all this!"

With that, he lunged toward Ye Feng like a bolt of lightning.

Bartel’s expression grew cold. "If you want to harm my Benefactor, you’ll have to get through me first."

He then fearlessly charged forward to meet Michael, and the two collided heavily.

A deafening BANG was heard, immediately followed by a muffled grunt!
