Chapter 302: Chapter 302: I’m Idle, How About Accompanying Me to Watch a Grand Show?
The moment she saw Ye Feng, Long Xi’Er cried out. She stumbled over to him and threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly as she exclaimed with emotion:
"You’re finally back! You’re finally back!"
In the next moment, she was already weeping with joy.
Ye Feng helped Long Xi’Er up. Frowning at her pretty, swollen face, he asked, "Who hit you?"
Before Long Xi’Er could speak, Wu Xiu, who was standing behind them, answered coldly, "I did. You have a problem with that?"
She walked up to Ye Feng and sneered. "Scum. I don’t know how you managed to escape with your life, but what difference does it make? You’re still going to die here today.
You scum! You’ve ruined my plans time and time again. You should have died long ago..."
Before she could finish, Ye Feng’s right hand shot up and viciously slapped her across the face. With a loud CRACK, Wu Xiu was sent flying!
Without even looking back, Ye Feng said coolly, "So noisy."
Everyone present was stunned. To dare strike the Empress herself—he was unbelievably audacious!
Wu Xiu scrambled up from the ground, pointed a trembling finger at Ye Feng, and roared in fury, "You scum! You dare hit me? You deserve to die!"
Then she turned to Wuchen beside her and said through gritted teeth, "Master, please act! Cripple this scum!"
Wuchen nodded and walked toward Ye Feng.
Long Xi’Er’s face paled instantly. She looked at Ye Feng and shouted frantically, "Ye Feng, he’s a Tier Four Martial God! You can’t take him! Go, quickly, run!"
Wuchen, walking up behind them, shook his head and chuckled. "Leave? Wishful thinking. Why don’t you just stay here forever?"
With that, his body flickered, and he was already in front of Ye Feng. He raised his right palm and brought it smashing down toward Ye Feng’s head.
In that instant, Long Xi’Er felt an immense pressure, as if a mountain were crashing down on her. Her legs trembled so violently she almost collapsed to her knees.
She looked at Ye Feng, her eyes filled with despair. ’He can’t escape. He’s going to die a horrible death here today.’
But then she saw Ye Feng, standing there perfectly calm and unconcerned. Just as Wuchen’s palm was about to strike his head, Ye Feng casually flicked his right hand toward him.
It didn’t look like a life-or-death struggle at all; it was more like he was shooing away an annoying fly.
But in the next instant, Long Xi’Er watched, wide-eyed, as a flash of light streaked past. Wuchen was sliced clean in two. He collapsed to the ground, dead before he hit the floor.
Long Xi’Er stared blankly at Ye Feng, unable to believe her eyes.
’Who was Wuchen? He was a top-tier expert, a mighty Tier Four Martial God! Yet he couldn’t even withstand a casual flick from Ye Feng?’
"Impossible! This is absolutely impossible!" Wu Xiu shrieked, finally snapping out of her shock.
Ye Feng turned to face Wu Xiu and chuckled. "I slapped twelve Tier Four Martial Gods to death when they joined forces against me. How could a single ant like him hope to stand in my way?"
The color drained from Wu Xiu’s face. At that moment, Long Ao looked at her and chuckled.
"With Ye Feng here, what trouble could you possibly stir up now?"
Wu Xiu looked at Long Ao and suddenly broke into a sinister smile. "There’s one thing I forgot to tell you. My father has already led a five-million-strong army, in disguise, to the Imperial Capital. By now, they should have reached the East Gate.
All of the Imperial Capital’s forces have been deployed elsewhere, leaving the city defenseless. Do you really think you can rely on him alone to stop five million soldiers? Do you think he can turn this situation around? Impossible! The outcome today remains the same: I win, you lose!"
Long Xi’Er glared at Wu Xiu and shouted in fury, "The twelve-nation coalition army besieging Meng War God, deploying Ye Feng and the Imperial Capital’s forces to deal with it, and then having your father march his army here... It was all your conspiracy from the start!"
Wu Xiu looked at Long Xi’Er, chuckling as she nodded. "You’re not completely stupid, I’ll give you that. But don’t you think it’s a little too late to figure it out now?"
The color drained from Long Xi’Er’s face. ’The Imperial Capital is practically an empty city right now. If Wu Cheng really is leading five million soldiers here, how can we possibly resist? Is today’s situation truly hopeless?’
But just then, Ye Feng turned to Wu Xiu and chuckled. "So you refuse to give up until you’re faced with absolute despair. Fine. I’ll show you what true despair looks like."
With that, he walked over, grabbed Wu Xiu by the collar, and turned to Long Ao with a faint smile. "Your Majesty, since we have some time on our hands, how about you join me for a good show?"
Long Ao rose to his feet, smiling and nodding. Then, along with Ye Feng and Long Xi’Er, he left the imperial palace and soon arrived atop the East Gate.
Long Xi’Er looked out over the city wall, and in the next moment, her face went white.
Outside the East Gate, a dense mass of soldiers stood in neat formation. The weapons in their hands glinted with a cold, sinister light, and a palpable killing intent surged toward the heavens.
At the head of the army stood an old man in golden robes and armor. His face was lean and gaunt, and his eyes glinted with a cold light, as sinister as a viper’s.
Upon seeing the old man, Wu Xiu cried out excitedly, "Father!"
The man was none other than the Great Marshal of the Daxia Border, Wu Xiu’s father, Wu Cheng!
Wu Xiu turned her head and sneered at Ye Feng. "Now who do you think is refusing to face despair?"
Then, she turned to Long Ao with a triumphant smirk. "My father and his five million soldiers are right outside. Are you planning to have this one man fight them all? Do you really think he can handle that?
Dream on!
Kill this rebel right now, and I might still spare your life. Otherwise, not a single one of you will leave here alive today. That’s a promise!"
The moment she finished speaking, Ye Feng slapped her across the face again. He looked down at her and said coldly, "Still so noisy."
"You..." Wu Xiu was so enraged she trembled from head to toe.
Beyond the wall, Wu Cheng’s face turned glacial when he saw Ye Feng strike Wu Xiu right in front of him. He pointed at Ye Feng and roared:
"Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you disrespect the Empress!"
Ye Feng looked at Wu Cheng and chuckled. "I’m the Ye Feng you were scheming against."
"It’s you! You’re not dead!" A flicker of surprise crossed Wu Cheng’s face, but he quickly composed himself. He glared at Ye Feng and said coldly,
"It just means you get to live a little longer. What difference does it make?"
Then he turned to Long Ao and declared imperiously, "Your Majesty, this man has dared to disrespect the Empress. This is an act of high treason! I demand you strike him down at once!"
Long Ao looked at Wu Cheng and said calmly, "And what if I disagree?"
Wu Cheng’s face darkened. "Then don’t blame me for taking matters into my own hands and cleansing the sovereign’s side!"
Ye Feng laughed. "It’s just treason. No need to dress it up in such elegant words."
"You..." Having been exposed by Ye Feng, Wu Cheng’s old face flushed red before he declared brazenly, "So what if I’m committing treason? What can you possibly do about it?
Do you really think one man can stand against an army of five million? Is that even possible?"
Long Xi’Er looked at Ye Feng, her eyes filled with despair. "Ye Feng, you can’t win this! You have to go!"
She then turned to Long Ao beside her and shouted urgently, "Father! Give Ye Feng his Jade Pendant back and let him go! This is our royal family’s feud. There’s no need to drag an innocent person into it!"
Ye Feng looked at Long Xi’Er and smiled.
