Chapter 370: Chapter 370: Whoever Dares to Block, Kill Without Mercy

The next moment, the man in black recognized the newcomer and couldn’t help but shriek, "You’re the Grand General of the Great Xia Empire, Murong Jue."

The old man spoke calmly. "It seems you do recognize me. In that case..."

The next moment, his expression turned cold as he roared, "Stand down!"

The tall man in black’s face instantly turned as pale as a sheet. He couldn’t help but turn to a fat man in black behind him, his voice trembling as he said, "Boss, it’s Murong Jue."

The fat man in black spoke with contempt. "Murong Jue? So what?"

With that, he walked straight toward Murong Jue.

Murong Jue chuckled drily. "So there really are people who don’t know their place. In that case, I’ll be happy to grant you your death wish!"

With that, he raised his right fist and brought it crashing down toward the fat man’s temple.

The fist, whistling through the air, arrived in an instant, about to smash into the fat man’s head.

The crowd behind them all heaved a collective sigh of relief. With Murong Jue taking action, the fat man was surely done for.

But the scene that followed made everyone’s pupils shrink in shock.

The fat man in black merely sneered. He suddenly raised his right hand and caught Murong Jue’s fist. No matter how hard Murong Jue struggled, his fist couldn’t move another inch.

The next moment, the fat man roared. With a sudden exertion of strength from his right hand, the towering Murong Jue, who weighed a good two hundred twenty pounds, was lifted high into the air and then slammed violently onto the ground.

With a deafening BOOM, the hard concrete ground was shattered. Murong Jue let out a muffled grunt, his body now embedded in the pavement, and began to vomit mouthful after mouthful of blood.

The onlookers could scarcely believe their eyes.

’Who was Murong Jue? He was the Grand General of the Great Xia Empire! A powerhouse who had reached the peak of Tier Three Martial God! Throughout the entire Great Xia Empire, he was someone who could do as he pleased without consequences. Yet, in front of this fat man, he couldn’t even withstand a single move? Who on earth was this guy, and how could he be so powerful?’

At that moment, Murong Jue struggled to lift his head. He looked at the fat man and cried out in terror, "Who... Who in the world are you?"

Before the words were even out of his mouth, the fat man planted his right foot directly on Murong Jue’s head, stomping him back down into the crater. He then walked away casually, his cold voice drifting back, "You’re not qualified to know who I am."

Murong Jue tried to rise, but the next moment he coughed up a huge mouthful of blood. His eyes rolled back in his head, and he passed out cold.

Then, the fat man in black roared, "Charge! Kill anyone who stands in our way, no mercy!"

"Kill!" the tall man in black roared in response, leading his men in a charge toward the Prince Consort’s Manor.

Behind them, Ouyang Nan and the others had expressions of pure despair. ’Even Murong Jue was defeated in a single move. Who in this Prince Consort’s Manor could possibly stop these people? Is no one going to make it out of here alive today?’

But just as despair set in, countless giant crossbow bolts suddenly shot out from behind the front courtyard wall. Many of the men in black were caught completely off guard and struck. The bolts carried them through the air, pinning them to the wall on the other side. One bolt even pierced through three men before its momentum finally carried it into a large tree, pinning them all to the trunk. Blood gushed forth, but it quickly turned a sickly green. The bolts were clearly coated in a lethal poison.

The three men screamed in agony, "Help! Help me!"

But a moment later, their heads drooped lifelessly, and they went still.

The rest of the men in black scrambled backward in fear, turning to look at their fat leader with terror in their eyes.

The fat man’s expression turned cold. He took a step forward, raised his right palm, and with a great roar, thrust it forward.

With another deafening BOOM, the entire courtyard wall collapsed. The mechanisms within were destroyed, rendering the massive crossbows useless.

The fat man snorted coldly. "Mere parlor tricks, and you thought you could stop us? Dream on! Everyone, charge! Drag all those women out for me!"

The tall man in black waved a hand and roared, "Charge! A great reward for whoever captures the women!"

The men in black raised their weapons and charged into the Prince Consort’s Manor.

But they hadn’t gotten far before a black mist erupted from the ground ahead, swiftly enveloping the men at the front.

The fat man snorted again. "So you’ve resorted to these deceptive tricks. But will it do you any good? Charge through it! Grab those women!"

But his words had barely left his mouth when blood-curdling screams erupted from within the mist, along with the nauseating sound of crunching bones.

The tall man in black peered into the mist, and the hair on his arms stood on end. He could vaguely make out flickering, ghostly figures within. He thought he saw zombies. A few of his men tried to break free from the mist, only to be dragged back by massive, unseen hands. A fresh wave of screams followed, and then, silence.

A few minutes later, the black mist fell completely silent.

The tall man turned to the fat man, his face pale as he cried out, "My lord, that’s not just an illusion! It’s a deadly formation!"

The fat man’s face was livid. He roared and launched a palm strike at the black mist.

A fierce gale from the strike howled forth, instantly blowing the black mist away.

The fat man said coldly, "As I said, mere parlor tricks."

But the words were barely out of his mouth when, to his surprise, the mist billowed up once more, and the area ahead became as black as ink again.

His expression instantly turned foul.

The tall man looked at him, his face pale. "My lord, this Prince Consort’s Manor... it’s too damn strange."

The fat man spoke coldly, "No matter how strange it is, it won’t stop us. Not a single one of those women will escape today."

The tall man nodded, but a moment later his expression changed. "My lord, what if they’re just stalling for time so they can escape?"

The fat man gave a cold smile. "Escape? You’re overthinking it. When I say not a single one will get away, I mean not a single one will get away."

He then leaned in and whispered a few words to the tall man, whose eyes immediately lit up. "My lord, your plan is truly thorough. This subordinate is impressed."

...

「Meanwhile」

In the main hall of the Prince Consort’s Manor, Long Xi’Er and several other women sat with grave expressions.

Just then, Caiyun rushed in, her face pale. She looked at Long Xi’Er and said, "Princess, the men in black have broken into the manor! Even Grand General Murong Jue has been gravely wounded. The traps you set couldn’t hold them back. They’ll be here any minute!"

Long Xi’Er’s expression turned ice-cold.

Beside her, Chen Yun’Er looked at Long Xi’Er and asked with a frown, "Princess, who are these people? How can they be so terrifyingly powerful?"

The other women all turned to look at Long Xi’Er as well.
