Chapter 440: Chapter 439: This Is Roasting Me Alive
At that moment, the store clerk glared at Su Mei and roared, "You broke our store’s most prized piece! End of discussion. Pay up!"
Su Mei frowned and said, "Young man, I didn’t even touch this jade bracelet. How can you say I’m the one who broke it?"
The store clerk’s eyes widened as he roared, "You’re the one who fucking broke it! Stop trying to pin it on me!"
"Have you no decency?" Su Mei’s brow furrowed.
Just then, the man in the suit walked over with a group of people. He looked at Su Mei and said in a cold voice:
"What, still trying to cause trouble here? You should really see whose turf you’re on. Cut the fucking crap and pay up. Ten million. Be short one cent, and I’ll break one of your hands!"
"You might as well be robbers!" Su Mei roared in anger.
The man in the suit chuckled sinisterly. "So I am robbing you. What are you going to do about it? You think a couple of country bumpkins like you can make waves here?"
Behind them, Ye Tianwen’s eyes went cold, and he was about to make a move, but just then, a calm voice came from the entrance:
"I’ll pay."
With those words, Ye Feng strode forward.
The man in the suit didn’t recognize Ye Feng. When he heard Ye Feng was willing to pay, a smug smile spread across his face. "Finally, someone who gets it!"
He walked up to Ye Feng and held out his hand. "Pay up!"
’He was overjoyed. ’How did I get so lucky today, running into such a moron? Ten million, just like that! This is my lucky day!’’
But in the next instant, the situation took a violent turn. Ye Feng suddenly seized the man’s right hand and twisted it back. With a sickening CRACK, the man’s wrist was snapped. Blood flew, and a shard of bone jutted out.
The man in the suit let out a bloodcurdling scream and staggered backward.
Ye Feng looked at the man and said calmly, "Is this enough?"
The man’s eyes were bloodshot as he stared at Ye Feng and roared, "You son of a bitch! How dare you start shit here! You’re in for it now! You’re in deep fucking trouble!"
He then pulled out his phone and made a call. As soon as it connected, he said through gritted teeth, "Lord Kui, someone’s causing trouble at our jewelry store, and they broke my hand!"
A cold, sinister voice came from the other end. "Someone dares to cause trouble on my, Song Kui’s, turf? They must have a fucking death wish! Tell them to wait. Just wait for me!"
There was a loud CRACK from the phone, followed by a dial tone.
The man in the suit lowered his phone. Staring at Ye Feng, he said through gritted teeth:
"Punk, Lord Kui is on his way. Do you even know who Lord Kui is? He’s Song Kui, the underground emperor of the Imperial Capital! He’s the kind of man who can make the entire Imperial Capital shake with just a stomp of his foot.
"And you dared to cause trouble on his turf? You’re a dead man today. A dead man!"
Su Mei looked at Ye Feng with a worried frown. "Ye Feng, these people obviously have powerful backing. Let’s not cause any more trouble. How about we just pay them and be done with this?"
Ye Feng smiled calmly. "Mom, it’s fine. You just sit back and watch the show."
Before long, a large group of people came storming in.
At the head was a bald man with a brutish, fleshy face, a cigar clamped in his mouth. He held his head high with an air of absolute arrogance.
This was none other than the underground emperor of the Imperial Capital, Song Kui.
Behind him was a throng of men in suits, each wielding a machete that glinted with a sinister, cold light. An overwhelming killing intent instantly soared through the room.
When the man in the suit saw Song Kui, he quickly ran over, pointed at Ye Feng who stood with his back to them, and said through gritted teeth:
"Lord Kui, that’s the piece of shit causing trouble here! He’s the one who broke my arm!"
Song Kui looked at Ye Feng’s back and let out a cold laugh. "Daring to cause trouble on my, Song Kui’s, turf? That’s the same as grinding my face into the mud. You think I’m some kind of pushover? Let me tell you, I’m no soft target. I’m a man-eating Fierce Tiger!"
With a wave of his hand, he ordered imperiously, "Do it! Chop him up!"
The machete-wielding men shouted their assent and charged at Ye Feng with their blades raised.
But just then, Ye Feng slowly turned to face Song Kui. He was smiling faintly as he spoke, "So, you’re the one who wants to chop me up?"
The moment he saw Ye Feng’s face, Song Kui froze as if he’d been poleaxed. His face instantly turned deathly pale.
’The man in the suit might not recognize Ye Feng, but he sure as hell did! Who was Ye Feng? He was the man who could single-handedly crush the Martial Arts Association! The man who dared to execute a Queen! The terrifying existence who had beaten Prince Zhenkun himself into the dirt! And he, Song Kui, had actually managed to provoke him today? That wasn’t just having a death wish—it was begging for it!’
The man in the suit, oblivious to Song Kui’s strange reaction, was still shouting arrogantly:
"That’s right, Lord Kui wants you chopped up! You got a problem with that? For Lord Kui, killing you is as easy as squashing a bug! Get him! Chop him up..."
Seeing his men rush up to Ye Feng, blades raised and ready to strike, Song Kui nearly pissed his pants in terror. ’These idiots are trying to get me killed!’
He couldn’t stop himself from shrieking, "Stop! All of you, stop, goddammit!"
All the men stopped in their tracks and turned to look at Song Kui in confusion.
’The man in the suit was also completely baffled. ’Lord Kui was the kind of man whose glare alone could kill. Why was he suddenly being so merciful today?’’
He turned to Song Kui and asked in confusion, "Lord Kui, he’s just an ant. We can crush him easily. Why are we wasting our breath on him...?"
