Some buildings had light shining through their windows while others were completely dark. Aiden couldn’t help as a smile formed on his face, this reminded him of the scene back on earth.

He found himself enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. After everything that had happened today, a quiet ride was what he needed, and his system read his mind and kept to itself.

Katarina was also quiet. She sat beside him with her arms folded and her eyes closed, occasionally looking through the window, but it didn’t take long before the carriage slowed down and came to a stop.

Aiden was so busy admiring the city, he had no idea they had arrived the the carriage stopped, but the rider didn’t come to open the door, and soon he heard a loud sound, the sound of a gate opening and the carriage continued inside, slowly this time.

The door to the carriage was pulled open as it came to a stop; Aiden stepped outside, and a smile formed on his face. Even at night, the academy looked impressive.

The entrance was surrounded by a tall stone wall, with several large crystals at the top. The path leading to the academy was also illuminated by soft blue light, leading all the way inside the academy.

Two large towers stood on both sides of the entrance, reaching high into the night sky; without being told, Aiden could sense the magic at the top of both towers.

“This way,” Kat spoke as she walked forward towards the academy grounds.

The academy had a large gate, and through the first entrance, carriages could be kept, and families could stay to see their children go into the academy, as non-mages weren’t allowed on academy grounds.

Further in was another entrance, the main entrance, and once they walked through, Aiden noticed how everything looked different.

First, they passed through a garden which had magical plants that gave off a faint green light since it was nighttime, and the same blue crystals were placed along the walkway leading deep into the academy.

There were several buildings spread across the academy grounds, and it didn’t take long for Aiden to spot the library at the far end to the right.

Aiden couldn’t tell which building were which, so he just assumed most of those would be classrooms and training halls, and since either was nighttime, he couldn’t find a single student, the only sound was their footsteps as they moved towards the main building.

The main building was much larger than Aiden had expected; he could count several floors, countless windows, and several towers connected to the main structure. The academy looked more like a castle than a school.

Also to the side of the main building, there were statues of mages placed along the entrance path, and one of them was of Katarina; his eyes scanned the rest before he looked away.

Both of them continued towards the main building, and Katarina pushed the door opened and Aiden stepped inside. His eyes quickly scanned the hall as soon as he walked in.

Inside was just as impressive as outside; the walls were decorated with paintings of famous mages, and some of the statues also had their paintings inside, not that Aiden knew any of them or what they achieved.

Some of the paintings even depicted mages on the battlefield. He looked away from the decorations, and in front of Aiden was a large staircase that led to the upper floors.

“What’s upstairs?” Aiden asked as he turned towards Kat, who simply stood back, letting him admire the academy.

“The dorm rooms are on the upper floors,” she replied.

“All of them. I know it’s big, but is it enough to contain all the students?” Aiden asked.

“Only the first and second-year students. The academy has different dorms for third-year students”

“Hmmm, very nice…I like to see the students training when I have the time,” Aiden muttered.

Katarina smiled before turning towards another hallway on the ground floor. “The dining hall is this way”

Aiden followed her as they walked through the hallway on the ground floor, passing through a few rooms along the way; since it was so late, almost every door was closed.

Even though he hadn’t seen the entire building, Aiden couldn’t help but smile. This was exactly how a magic academy should be; too bad there isn’t an academy arc in his life. He was almost established the moment he came to this world.

“This place is impressive,” Aiden replied.

“Really, even though you haven’t seen the entirety of it, you should come when I’m giving a lesson to the students, or when the third years are training; it is truly impressive,” Katarina replied with a smile on her face.

They finally arrived at a set of doors, with the words written at the top, ‘Dining Hall’ in very bold letters.

Katarina pushed the door open and stepped inside, holding the door for Aiden to step through, and once he did, the scent of a meal hit his nostrils.

Unlike the entrance hall, the dining hall was much simpler; several long tables were arranged across the floor, with enough seats for hundreds of students.

At the far end of the room was the serving area, with several large counters where food would normally be placed; there were also smaller tables along the walls.

Since it was nighttime, the dining hall was almost completely empty. A single male sat across the room, his head on the table as if he was sleeping, while a student also sat on one of the chairs, her face glued to the book she held in her hand.

Katarina walked towards the counter with Aiden following behind, and as they approached the counter, they could hear laughing sounds, and almost like Kat wanted to surprise them, she slowed down, killing the sound of her footsteps as she approached.

She arrived at the counter, and she could see three of the chefs seated on the floor laughing with a single plate of food in front of them, with each of them holding cards in their hands.

“It seems you’re having a good time,” Katarina said, startling the three of them as they dropped the cards.
