Chapter 483: It’s Been a While Since a Scene Like This

Wang Chenning’s booming shout drowned out the racket, startling several people.

The fat boss and his men gave Wang Chenning a strange look as he waved at them, thinking the attractive couple had to be a pair of morons.

Once the noise died down, Wang Chenning gave Yang Xiaofu a small smile, stood up, and strode toward the counter.

He pulled the furious middle-aged man who was about to pay his bill to one side. Then, he brazenly walked up to the burly men, slapped the menu from his table on the counter with a loud SLAM, and barked gruffly, “We’re done eating. Hurry up and calculate how much we owe.”

The fat boss shot Wang Chenning an odd look, took the menu from his hand, and after a quick calculation, said, “The total comes to three thousand five hundred and eighteen. Let’s round it down to an even thirty-five hundred. Alipay or WeChat? Alipay is this way, scan over there for WeChat!”

“Oh? We ate a ton, so how is our bill cheaper than theirs?” Wang Chenning looked at the fat boss with feigned surprise. “I thought it was going to be tens of thousands. I was all set to leave my car here as collateral. I can’t believe it’s only a little over three thousand. That’s a real bargain.”

A hush fell over the restaurant. The furious middle-aged man’s family, along with everyone else inside, was completely stunned.

They all stared at Wang Chenning as if he were some kind of freak. The only one who didn’t find it strange was Yang Xiaofu, who was still sitting off to the side, leisurely eating her food.

She knew what was coming. ‘Another good show is about to start.’

“Hey, buddy, watch your mouth!” the fat boss roared, slamming his hand on the table. “This isn’t the place for jokes! Pay up and get out!”

“Oh? Running a scam joint and still this arrogant?” Wang Chenning sneered at the fat boss. Then he reached out and, with a resounding SLAP, struck the man hard across the face. “Who the hell do you think you are, slamming the table at me!”

The slap sent the boss reeling, almost knocking him to the floor. He clutched his cheek, stunned for a moment, before stamping his feet and roaring, “Son of a bitch! You dare to hit me!”

SLAP! Wang Chenning struck him again. “I just warned you. You still dare to act tough?”

The other men crowded around them finally snapped to their senses.

“Punk, acting tough in our place? You must have a death wish!”

“You actually laid a hand on him? We’ll show you what happens next!”

The group of them immediately prepared to jump Wang Chenning.

But Wang Chenning gave them no such opportunity. With a few deft front and side kicks, he effortlessly felled the entire group of brawny men.

The fat boss, still dazed from the two slaps, was terrified when he saw Wang Chenning so easily defeat all his companions. He immediately turned to run.

But he had barely taken two steps before Wang Chenning snatched him by the collar and hauled him back.

Wang Chenning effortlessly lifted his nearly two-hundred-pound body into the air.

The fat boss’s face went pale with fright.

‘What kind of monster is this guy? I weigh almost two hundred pounds, and he can lift me with one hand? That’s terrifying strength!’

“Why run a scam joint?” Wang Chenning asked contemptuously. “What century are you living in, still pulling these tricks? If you’re that desperate for money, you should just print it yourself!”

“…” The fat boss was speechless.

“What, was I wrong?” Wang Chenning smacked the fat boss again. “Ignoring me when I’m talking to you!”

“Let me go!” the fat boss struggled feebly.

“Fine!” Wang Chenning obliged, letting him go—by throwing him directly at his companions who were struggling to get back up.

With a few pained cries, three or four of them went down in a pile.

The few others who had already gotten up charged Wang Chenning in unison.

Wang Chenning remained completely unfazed. He gave each of them a single slap, sending them right back to the floor.

The fat boss and his companions had just managed to struggle back up, only for Wang Chenning to slap each of them back down to the ground again.

The middle-aged man and his family were stunned by Wang Chenning’s brutality. The man quickly pulled his child aside, shielding him to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. Inwardly, however, they were cheering Wang Chenning on. This was clearly a scam joint, the kind that preyed on tourists.

‘For them to be taught a lesson by a master like Wang Chenning… it’s exactly what they deserve.’

“My hand is starting to hurt from slapping them all. What should I do?” Wang Chenning asked with a wide grin as Yang Xiaofu got to her feet.

“Make them slap themselves!” Yang Xiaofu replied, looking like she was enjoying the chaos. “After all, you have your ways!”

“Whatever you say!” With that, Wang Chenning hauled one of the men up from the floor, grabbed his hand, and started swinging it wildly at the others.

Amid a flurry of SLAP-SLAP-SLAP sounds, the faces of the other thugs began to swell up.

Yang Xiaofu, watching the spectacle from the sidelines, found the scene so amusing that she couldn’t help but giggle.

When the conflict began, she had already taken out her phone to record a few key moments.

However, she had wisely chosen not to record the more violent scenes, such as Wang Chenning actually hitting people.

Yang Xiaofu also spotted the security camera in the corner. She gestured to Wang Chenning, who understood her meaning.

Taking advantage of the chaos, he smashed the surveillance system’s main console.

In just a few moments, the men in the shop were once again felled by slap after slap, each of their faces swelling up like a pig’s head.

After giving the men a thorough lesson, Wang Chenning hoisted the fat boss up again. “Still planning on running a scam joint?”

“Never again!” the boss, his face swollen like a pig’s, begged repeatedly.

“Hurry up and ring us up again—properly this time!” Wang Chenning shoved the fat boss toward the counter.

“The meal’s on the house today!” The beating hadn’t scrambled the boss’s brains entirely; his reflexes were still sharp. “We don’t want your money!”

He didn’t expect, however, to get another slap from Wang Chenning for his troubles.

“We’re law-abiding citizens. We never dine and dash! Now calculate the bill. Do theirs first! Hurry up!”
