Allies in the Gathering Storm

After Shera left with several members of the Thunder Mammoth Elite Squad, Julian remained seated inside the speeding vehicle for a few moments.

The convoy continued racing toward the Tyson Family estate.

Beyond the windows, the streets of Valemont bustled as usual. Office workers hurried to their destinations, traffic flowed through busy intersections, and the morning sun bathed the city in warm golden light.

To ordinary people...

It was simply another peaceful day.

None of them knew that an invisible war capable of reshaping the entire city had already erupted.

One battlefield was stained with blood.

The other was drowning in money.

Julian rested one arm against the window, his golden eyes reflecting the passing skyline.

After a brief moment of thought, he unlocked his phone and selected a familiar contact.

Felberta Ashbourne.

The call connected after only two rings.

A soft, familiar voice came from the other end, carrying both relief and affection.

"Dear Julian."

Hearing her voice, the coldness in Julian’s expression softened almost imperceptibly.

"Felberta."

His deep voice became noticeably gentler.

"Did I wake you?"

A quiet laugh reached his ears.

"You know I was already awake."

She paused before adding in a teasing tone,

"Or were you simply looking for an excuse to hear my voice?"

A faint smile appeared on Julian’s lips.

"I won’t deny that."

Inside the Ashbourne family’s manor in Silverhaven City, Felberta stood beside the floor-to-ceiling window of her office.

Her long black hair cascaded gracefully over her shoulders, while her crimson eyes gazed toward the distant skyline.

Although she smiled, worry lingered deep within those beautiful eyes.

She knew exactly why Julian was calling.

The financial war had already reached the Ashbourne family.

"I heard about the D’Aurelius Group."

Her voice became much softer.

"Are you alright?"

Julian looked out at the endless highway.

"I’m fine."

"As long as the people around me are safe, everything else can be solved."

Felberta’s heart warmed.

That answer...

It sounded exactly like the man she loved.

No matter how heavy the burden on his shoulders became, he always placed the people he cared about first.

Taking a slow breath, she spoke more seriously.

"Dear Julian... I’ve already ordered our investment department to prepare emergency funds."

"But..."

She hesitated.

"The Ashbourne family is also being targeted."

Julian’s expression remained calm.

He wasn’t surprised.

The Obsidian Wing had clearly planned everything well in advance.

If they wanted to cripple the D’Aurelius family completely, isolating its allies was the obvious first step.

Felberta continued,

"Several large foreign consortia suddenly entered the market this morning."

"They’re attacking us while supporting Blackstone Global Group."

"I’ve already ordered a counterattack, but a large portion of our capital is tied up in ongoing projects."

She bit her lower lip lightly.

"Please give me a little time."

"I’ll squeeze out every available Euro I can."

"I’ll support the D’Aurelius family."

Julian could almost picture her determined expression through the phone.

A warm feeling spread through his chest.

"Felberta."

"Hm?"

"You don’t have to force yourself."

"I don’t want you placing the Ashbourne family in unnecessary danger."

For several seconds...

Neither of them spoke.

Only the faint sound of each other’s breathing remained on the line.

Then Felberta smiled.

A smile filled with tenderness.

"When have I ever left you to fight alone?"

"You protected me."

"You trusted me."

"You loved me."

"So now..."

"My place is beside you."

"No matter how difficult this battle becomes."

Julian slowly closed his eyes.

His fingers unconsciously tightened around the phone.

A gentle smile appeared across his handsome face.

"Thank you."

"Dear Julian."

Her gentle voice carried the same warmth as before, but he could also hear a hint of exhaustion beneath it.

A faint smile appeared on Julian’s face.

"How’s the situation on your side?"

Felberta glanced at the financial reports scattered across her desk before letting out a quiet sigh.

"It’s not looking good."

"The Ashbourne family has also become a target."

"Several large foreign consortia have launched attacks on our companies in the stock market."

Julian’s expression grew more serious.

"So it’s happening there too..."

He had called partly because he was worried about her, but he also hoped the wealthy Ashbourne family might still be able to spare enough capital to help stabilize the D’Aurelius Group’s financial position.

Felberta seemed to understand exactly what he was thinking.

"I’m sorry, Dear Julian."

"I really need a little more time."

"I have to stabilize the Ashbourne family’s situation first and free up enough funds."

"The moment I can, I’ll support the D’Aurelius family."

Julian let out a soft breath before smiling gently.

"I understand."

There wasn’t even a trace of disappointment in his voice.

He never blamed her.

The Obsidian Wing’s plan had targeted every one of his allies simultaneously.

Under such circumstances, the fact that Felberta was still thinking about helping him despite the crisis surrounding her own family was already more than enough.

He never blamed her.

In fact, considering the circumstances, she had already done everything she possibly could.

After exchanging a few more gentle words, the call finally ended.

Julian slowly placed the phone on his lap.

After ending the call, silence once again filled the luxurious vehicle.

The warmth in his heart lingered.

There were countless people plotting against him.

But there were also people willing to stand beside him without hesitation.

That alone made every risk worthwhile.

Julian looked out through the window.

The morning sunlight no longer felt warm.

It merely illuminated a battlefield that stretched across the entire financial world.

This time...

The Obsidian Wing had come fully prepared.

Every hidden card they possessed had been revealed at once.

Julian understood their objective perfectly.

They had two targets.

One was the Old Martial Arts forces of Valemont led by the Tyson Family.

The other...

Was the D’Aurelius family, the undisputed number one household of Valemont.

To destroy the Tyson Family...

They would rely on martial strength.

To destroy the D’Aurelius family...

They would burn unimaginable amounts of money.

At this critical moment...

Finding hundreds of billions of Euros to stabilize the market was enough to give even Julian a headache.
