Villainess Breaker: Raising Broken Beauties Against Destiny
Chapter 420: The Ice Queen Has Expensive Toys
The Sacred Arena became strangely quiet as Evelyn and the masked Yamikarasu ninja faced each other.
Neither of them said a word.
Unlike Linsey and Masaru, there was no provocation, no boasting, and no argument between the two fighters.
They simply stared at one another, silently observing their opponent’s movements.
However, the silence didn’t last long.
Suddenly, the masked ninja moved.
His figure blurred forward with astonishing speed, one hand already reaching for the short blade at his waist.
Evelyn reacted almost instantly.
With a casual movement of her hand, she retrieved an exquisite bow from her spatial ring.
The moment the weapon materialized, a terrifying wave of cold air swept across the arena, causing the surrounding temperature to plummet.
[Glacial Starfall Bow]
Before the ninja could even fully draw his weapon, Evelyn had already raised her bow and pulled back the string.
Instead of an ordinary arrow, a slender projectile made entirely of condensed frost formed between her fingers, radiating an intense icy aura.
Without hesitation, she released the bowstring.
Whoosh!
The frost arrow vanished from sight, shooting toward the masked ninja at terrifying speed.
His eyes widened as he instinctively twisted his body sideways, narrowly avoiding what should have been a direct hit.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t quite fast enough.
PUCHI!
The frost arrow grazed his upper arm before continuing past him, leaving a shallow but bloody wound.
The ninja immediately landed several meters away, his expression changing beneath his mask.
At first, he thought he had successfully avoided the worst of the attack.
However, the moment he glanced toward his injured arm, his eyes narrowed sharply.
The shallow wound had already begun freezing.
A thin layer of ice rapidly spread outward from the cut, creeping across his upper arm and toward his shoulder.
’What kind of frost Qi is this?’
Without wasting another moment, he hurriedly circulated his Qi, forcing the invading cold energy back before it could spread any farther.
Only after suppressing the frost did he finally raise his head again.
This time, his expression was completely different.
He had initially assumed that Evelyn was merely another woman accompanying the mysterious foreigner.
However, after witnessing the speed and terrifying power of that single arrow, he realized that he had severely underestimated her.
’She’s dangerous...’
The ninja tightened his grip on his short blade, his gaze shifting between Evelyn and the beautiful bow resting in her hands.
Yet the longer he examined the weapon, the more familiar it seemed.
Suddenly, his eyes widened beneath his mask.
’Wait... That bow!’
His gaze snapped back toward Evelyn, genuine shock appearing in his eyes as though he had just recognized something completely unexpected.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the arena, both Kurogane Masanori and the Yamikarasu leader had already risen from their seats.
Masanori’s expression changed dramatically as he stared at the beautiful bow in Evelyn’s hands. "That aura..."
Beside him, the Yamikarasu leader clenched his fists, his eyes widening beneath his mask. "No way..."
Both men stared at the weapon for another moment before exclaiming almost simultaneously.
"A King Grade weapon?!"
Their shocked voices immediately attracted the attention of the surrounding spectators, particularly the representatives of the major factions seated nearby.
After all, life-and-death battles in the Sacred Arena were relatively rare, especially when two established Second Tier factions were involved.
Naturally, nearly every major faction in Hanamiyako had sent representatives to observe the event.
However, none of them had expected to witness the appearance of a King Grade weapon.
At first, several representatives were skeptical, unwilling to believe that such a precious treasure could appear so casually.
Nevertheless, they quickly extended their spiritual senses toward Evelyn’s bow, carefully examining the powerful aura radiating from it.
The moment they confirmed its grade, their expressions changed dramatically. "It’s real... That’s actually a King Grade weapon!"
Some representatives immediately stood up, their eyes filled with disbelief and undisguised envy.
After all, King Grade treasures weren’t something that could be casually purchased or obtained.
Even many powerful factions treated such weapons as precious foundational inheritances, treasures that were passed down through generations and only entrusted to their most important members.
Some established Second Tier factions didn’t even possess a single King Grade weapon.
Yet now, an apparently young foreign woman had casually taken one out in the middle of a battle.
How could they possibly remain calm?
Meanwhile, inside one of the private viewing sections, Raika was equally stunned.
Her normally cold expression had completely disappeared as she stared at the beautiful frost bow in Evelyn’s hands.
As a member of the influential Shinrai Family, Raika naturally understood just how valuable King Grade treasures were.
After all, her own clan possessed such a treasure, and she knew very well how carefully it was guarded.
Seeing another King Grade weapon appear so casually was already shocking enough.
However, what confused her even more was the identity of the woman holding it. "Evelyn...?"
Raika narrowed her eyes, examining the cold-looking woman more carefully.
There was no mistake.
She was Evelyn, another former disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect and one of Linsey’s close friends.
Raika had already been struggling to understand how Linsey had reached the Nascent Soul Realm in less than a year.
Yet now, Evelyn had appeared as well, casually wielding a King Grade weapon as though it were nothing particularly special. "First Linsey, and now Evelyn..."
Raika muttered in disbelief, her gaze shifting between the two familiar women. "Just what happened to you two? And how the hell did Evelyn get her hands on a King Grade weapon?"
She tried thinking back to everything she knew about them, but nothing seemed to explain the ridiculous changes she was witnessing.
Eventually, Raika leaned back in her seat and rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on. "Seriously... Just what the hell happened while I was away?"
Her eyes then drifted toward Damian and the other women waiting near the arena.
For some reason, she was beginning to suspect that the answer had something to do with that mysterious group of foreigners.
