Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!
Chapter 350 -: 349 Husband and Wife.
Chapter 350: Chapter: 349 Husband and Wife.
The odd pair stood before the entrance of the village, which was known as Rock Wood Village.
It was a small settlement belonging to the Sapphire Kingdom, one of the few surviving kingdoms that had managed to avoid being caught in the devastating battle between Ian and the gods.
Fortunately, the conflict had taken place far from this region, and although the distant lands had suffered greatly from the aftermath, Rock Wood Village had remained relatively untouched.
The village itself was not particularly large, containing only around a hundred families, most of whom had lived there for generations.
Fields stretched around the settlement, their green crops swaying gently in the breeze, while several fenced areas were occupied by livestock.
Compared to the countless worlds Ian had visited and the magnificent cities he had once ruled through fear, the place was almost laughably insignificant.
Destiny and Ian had also made considerable preparations before entering the village.
Their divine clothing had been replaced with ordinary mortal robes, and neither of them carried anything that would immediately distinguish them from common villagers.
They even had luggage with them, making it appear as though they had travelled from another town after getting married. More importantly, they had already purchased a small house within the village using some of the money Ian had acquired earlier.
As far as the villagers were concerned, they were simply a newly married couple who had decided to settle down in Rock Wood Village.
Ian, however, was deeply dissatisfied with the arrangement. Having spent his entire life despising gods and fighting against them, the thought of pretending to be the husband of a goddess was enough to make his expression darken.
Still, he could only endure it for now. His current life was already approaching its end, and if Destiny truly intended to protect his soul after his death, then perhaps he should at least prepare himself for the possibility of reincarnation. Of course, Ian was far from trusting her.
They said one should never trust a god, and Ian had followed that principle long before he became the Heavenly Demon.
Destiny might have promised to safeguard his soul, but Ian had no intention of placing his future in the hands of someone he considered an enemy.
While pretending to cooperate with her, he would continue searching for a way to break the curse of time.
If that failed, he would find another method to escape with his soul before Destiny could interfere. And if neither option worked, then he would simply have to find a way to kill her.
The thought was almost absurd considering his current condition, but Ian had never been the type of man to abandon an objective merely because it seemed impossible. Even if the chance of success was less than one in a billion, he would still attempt it.
With a reluctant sigh, Ian followed Destiny into the village. The moment they entered, the gazes of the villagers immediately fell upon them.
Most of the people currently outside were women and children, while many of the men were working in the surrounding fields.
Their curiosity quickly turned into admiration when they noticed Destiny. Although she had deliberately altered her appearance to resemble an ordinary human woman, her beauty was still far beyond what ordinary mortals could possess.
Her pink hair framed her delicate features, while the pink irises she had chosen for her disguise seemed to possess a strange charm that naturally drew people’s attention.
Ian noticed that she had even changed the colour of her eyes, though he couldn’t be bothered to comment on it. He himself was also receiving quite a few looks, though for an entirely different reason.
His appearance was striking enough that the villagers could easily believe the two of them were a newly married couple who had come from a wealthy family in another region.
"Hello, we are new here. I hope you will help us."
Destiny greeted the villagers with a warm smile, immediately putting them at ease.
Her natural charm made it easy for her to start conversations, and within moments several women had gathered around her, asking where she and her husband had come from, how long they intended to stay, and whether they had travelled from another kingdom.
Destiny answered their questions with ease, carefully maintaining the identity they had prepared. Ian, meanwhile, remained several steps away and looked around the village with an increasingly displeased expression.
His eyes moved across the houses, the fields, the roads, and the surrounding forest, automatically searching for anything that might pose a threat.
There was nothing. No hidden spell caster , no dangerous beast, no assassin, no powerful aura lurking nearby. The village was completely ordinary, which somehow made Ian feel even more uncomfortable.
Two children eventually noticed him standing apart from the others. A little girl and a boy stared at him curiously before slowly approaching.
Ian lowered his gaze and noticed them watching him with the sort of fearless curiosity only children seemed to possess.
He frowned.
"What?"
The moment his cold voice reached them, both children immediately froze before turning around and fleeing toward their mothers.
Ian watched them disappear behind the skirts of the women before his expression became even more irritated. What kind of absurd situation was this?
He was Ian, the God Slayer, the Heavenly Demon who had fought countless enemies and survived battles that could have annihilated entire worlds, yet he was now standing in some tiny village watching children run away from him because he had spoken to them. He felt as though the heavens themselves were mocking him.
’What a mess. The God Slayer, the Heavenly Demon, and whatever other titles I’ve accumulated over the years... reduced to this.’
Ian glanced at the surrounding fields with growing resentment. He had spent countless years fighting for power, scheming against enemies, searching for opportunities, and preparing for the day when he would finally take his revenge, only to end up living in a village where the greatest concern seemed to be whether the crops would grow properly. He clenched his fists as another thought entered his mind.
’I should have captured that bastard’s soul when I had the chance.’
His expression darkened as memories of his enemy surfaced.
’Time, you piece of shit. You better stay dead. If you somehow manage to survive this, I’ll find you even in the next life and tear you apart myself.’
Ian was still silently cursing when Destiny finally finished speaking with the villagers and approached him. Her expression was gentle, almost completely different from the bratty goddess he knew.
"Husband."
Ian’s entire body stiffened.
For some reason, hearing that single word from Destiny made his skin crawl. He slowly turned toward her, his expression filled with disgust.
"What was that?"
Destiny ignored his reaction and simply smiled before reaching out and taking his hand. Ian immediately tried to pull away, but his expression changed when he realized that he couldn’t.
Destiny had deliberately used her strength to prevent him from escaping, making it impossible for him to free his hand without expending far more strength than he wanted to reveal.
"This..."
Ian tried to protest, but Destiny had already begun dragging him toward their new home.
Their house stood near the edge of the village and was considerably smaller than the residences Ian had once occupied. It was a simple wooden, single-story building with a small courtyard outside.
A lone tree grew near the entrance, providing a little shade over the packed-earth ground.
Inside, there was a relatively spacious bedroom, at least by the standards of the surrounding houses, along with a small kitchen, a bathroom, and a guest room. There was nothing luxurious about it, but everything necessary for ordinary life was present.
Destiny looked around the house with satisfaction before turning toward Ian.
"Now we are mortals, and we will live like mortals. You are my husband, and I’m your wife."
Ian stared at her coldly for several moments before walking toward the bedroom and pointing at the bed.
"You will sleep on the ground, and I’m sleeping on the bed. And I dare you to touch me while I’m sleeping. If you do, I’ll cut you off, understood?"
Destiny simply looked at him without responding to the threat, as though she had already become accustomed to his ridiculous temper. Instead, she calmly began explaining how their new life would work.
"I’ll take care of the household while you earn money. You’ll need to find some work, so go outside and look for something suitable."
Ian gave her a long, incredulous look before snorting.
"What’s there to earn? I can simply steal money. If necessary, I can force someone to hand it over. When I was young and needed resources, I would kidnap some young master or young miss and force their family to provide whatever I wanted. I’m sure if I kidnapped one of the children here, the villagers would..."
"No."
Destiny’s expression immediately became serious.
"You will not steal from people, and you will not threaten them."
Ian frowned.
"If you do anything like that, I’ll make you pay for it. We’re living as mortals now, which means you will earn your money honestly. Go and find some work."
Ian’s expression became increasingly sour.
"And I’m not going to use the money you stole earlier either. We’ll only use enough of it as dowry money, and that won’t last more than a few days. After that, you’ll have to support yourself, so go and find a job."
Before Ian could argue further, Destiny walked to the door and pushed him outside.
Ian stumbled onto the courtyard before turning around and staring at her with a resentful glare.
The goddess stood in the doorway with an infuriatingly calm expression, seemingly satisfied with how quickly she had dealt with him. Ian’s hands clenched into fists as he stared at her.
"You’d better prepare your neck."
His voice was filled with murderous resentment.
"When I get my hands on you, I’ll eat you alive, you evil goddess."
Destiny merely smiled before closing the door in his face.
Ian stood silently in the courtyard for several seconds, staring at the closed door. Around him, the ordinary sounds of village life continued as though nothing had happened.
