Chapter 1440: Chapter 612: Slaanesh and Tzeentch’s Collaboration_2

The female knight’s face suddenly changed, as she considered a possibility, an extremely terrifying possibility. She had a vague understanding but dared not speak it out loud.

"You... you’re testing me! Dark Elf!" Surya immediately drew the Leonais Sword, its flaming blade pointed directly at Ollica’s face, an unusual anger burning on Surya’s face: "Do you think I’m that kind of person?!"

"I have never made a judgment on you, Lady Surya." The Dark Elf laughed, sweetly yet eerily: "My responsibility is simply to tell you everything and let you choose for yourself. How you choose is none of my concern and I won’t recommend any course of action to you. But I think I can understand it this way, Lady Surya: you don’t understand us Duruzi at all. Moreover, his existence has always been a potential threat to you and to the master, haven’t I spoken correctly?"

"Ollica!" Surya finally shouted in anger, the female knight exclaimed softly: "Don’t force me! I don’t want to embarrass Laine!"

"Let me repeat, I am not forcing you." The Dark Elf shook her head: "I am simply asking you to choose. Let me repeat again, how you choose is none of my business."

After speaking, Ollica raised her head, the image of Surya reflected in the amber eyes of the Dark Elf: "You have your way of loving the master, and I have mine. Furthermore, you don’t have the condition to embarrass me. The equipment you wear may be invincible to others but not to me. You know well that I bear a Spirit Rune Brand similar to yours, engraved by the master himself. I asked you to choose merely because you are the lady."

The female knight was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, a trace of helplessness finally appeared on Surya’s exquisitely delicate face. She lowered her sword: "I am not that kind of person, Ollica. Don’t bring your black elf ways to our side. I will repeat once more, I am not that kind of person. You know what that means to Amelia."

"I understand." Ollica nodded and sheathed her weapon: "This is your choice. So let us join forces today, while the Imperial Palace hosts a grand feast. The Association of Pleasure Seekers is preparing a gathering here and the slaughter of the von Slek family has already alerted these people."

"Very well, then what is your plan?" Surya glanced again at the corpse on the ground.

"My plan is to do it again." Ollica laughed.

Thirty minutes later, a group of guards and several carriages arrived from afar, traveling along the snow-cleared road in the affluent district to the gate of this noble estate. A guard produced a large copper key and opened the estate’s gate.

The sound of wheels turning broke the silence of the night as a noble, dressed in aristocratic attire and holding a briefcase, quickly stepped off the carriage with the help of the guards.

"Lord Lark, welcome." Another noble said to him: "Everyone has arrived."

"I understand." This noble was Baron Werner von Lark, a well-known painter and politician in the Imperial Capital. He wore an imported bear fur coat from Kislev, snow covering his waistcoat, and had cropped hair that was somewhat graying.

He quickly walked into the manor, and the guards immediately began their vigilance, forming a circle around the entire estate.

Ascending the stairs, Werner swiftly went to the second floor, opened the door to a room, and glanced a bit uncomfortably at the oil painting framed on the wall.

In the oil painting was a grand ball, where numerous men and women were dancing, a scene of utmost luxury and madness. But upon closer inspection, despite everyone at the ball softly singing and dancing, there was a certain fear and unease on their faces. In the mirrors at the ball, indescribable figures were joining in the revelry with these men and women; some wore masks, some did not. A eerie atmosphere surrounded the painting.

Werner furrowed his brow tightly and mouthed a few words before walking behind his desk, sitting down in a soft chair, lighting the oil lamp, and placing the briefcase on the desk: "Where are they? Didn’t you say they arrived?"

"My lord, they are still arguing about what to do." A noble of visibly lower status walked in from outside, bowing in respect before continuing: "Some believe we are exposed, others do not. We have temporarily halted the plan to lay low."

"Has there been any news from Nuer?" Werner frowned deeply, opening the briefcase to reveal a thick stack of documents, stamped with the Empire’s double-headed eagle mark and bearing the unique White Wolf symbol of the Midland Territory.

"No." The visitor shook his head: "Lady Qingrou has given no orders."

"Very well. Leave me alone for a moment." Baron Werner signaled for the visitor to leave: "Make sure they prepare quickly!"

"Yes!" The visitor bowed, then left the room.

Baron Werner took out the documents and began to peruse them closely, his mind starting to ponder.

The gathering place of the Slaanesh Cultists is extremely difficult for ordinary people to discover because, from the outside, it appears to be merely a shop, inn, or noble estate. After a millennium of lurking, these Slaanesh followers have learned to avoid the watchful eyes of Demon Hunters and Combat Priests, and to subtly corrupt the great nobles and priests. Entertainment is a spiritual need for all mortals, and the Association of Pleasure Seekers knows how to exploit this. Often, the line between leisure and embarking on the path of worshiping Slaanesh is but a single thought away. To this day, some Slaanesh followers do not even know what they are worshiping, unaware that they are already Chaos Cultists.
