Chapter 858: Chapter 857: Very Tempted (3)
Bella Acker said, "I’ll go. He doesn’t know where Talia’s room is."
She prepared to reach out to take the little girl that Damian Sinclair was holding.
Beside them, Sharon Cheney laughed, "President Sinclair knows."
Bella Acker looked at Damian Sinclair.
Damian said, "I’ve been here many times while you were filming out of town. Ms. Cheney, leave the soup, I’ll cook it when I come down."
"Oh, that’s too much trouble for you. It’s just one soup, I can handle it. You all set the table and get ready to eat." Sharon said with a smile as she headed to the kitchen, clearly in a very good mood.
Ethan heard the noise and came out from his room, "Sister, how’s Talia?"
"Her fever has gone down, she’s fine now." Bella Acker gestured, "Ethan, stop doing homework and come down for dinner."
"Okay." Ethan came downstairs, checked the little girl’s forehead in Damian’s arms to confirm the fever was gone, and felt relieved. "Mr. Sinclair, you can put Talia in my room. Let her sleep with me tonight, so if she’s unwell in the middle of the night, I’ll know."
Bella Acker nodded, "Let Talia sleep with Ethan tonight."
"Alright." Damian carried the little girl upstairs to Ethan’s room, took off her jacket, and tucked her in before coming back down.
Sharon had already finished cooking the last soup, while Bella Acker and Ethan set the table.
"President Sinclair, dinner’s ready." Sharon called out with a smile.
Damian said, "Ms. Cheney, you can just call me by my name."
Sharon glanced at Bella Acker, smiled, and nodded, "Sure. Damian, it’s snowing and cold tonight, I have an opened bottle of Maotai; how about the three of us have a little?"
"Sure." Damian replied, "Where’s the wine? I can get it."
"No need, no need, you stay seated and I’ll get it." Sharon went to the wine cabinet, brought back the Maotai and three small glasses, happily poured the wine, and then sat down, "Damian, there aren’t many dishes, please help yourself."
"Ms. Cheney, we’re all family, no need to be so formal." Damian raised his glass, "Let’s have a toast first. Thank you, Ms. Cheney, for the wonderful dinner."
"Oh, it’s just a few simple home dishes." Sharon also raised her glass.
The two of them held their glasses up and turned to look at Bella Acker, who was pretending not to hear their conversation the whole time.
Faced with their gaze, Bella could only sigh helplessly, raise her glass, and say, "Cheers, if you’re so happy, bottoms up! I’m just here for the ride."
Sharon laughed, "There are no outsiders here, we should celebrate a little, what’s there to be embarrassed about?"
Bella knew her godmother was happy for her and Damian, but even though they weren’t deliberately keeping their distance, they hadn’t officially gotten back together either. Wasn’t her godmother celebrating a bit too soon?
There was a smile in Damian’s eyes, and he glanced at Bella and said, "We really should celebrate." With that, he tipped back his glass and drained the liquor in one go.
Sharon smiled, sipped her drink, but didn’t finish her glass of liquor.
Bella’s mouth twitched slightly, picked up a dish with her chopsticks, and placed it in Damian’s bowl, saying, "President Sinclair, such a generous drinker."
Damian rarely had to drink for business socializing, and when he did drink occasionally, it was with some brothers and friends. His drinking capacity really developed because of the breakup with Bella.
Damian smiled with profound meaning, "It’s all thanks to you."
