Chapter 857: Chapter 856: Very Tempted (2)
Bella’s lips curled up involuntarily as she slightly lifted her gaze to sneak a look at Damian Sinclair’s profile.
He seemed to be more handsome and charming than before.
In today’s popular terms, he was simply a walking hormone, no wonder so many women’s eyes instinctively gravitated toward him.
A complete walking attraction magnet.
Bella pouted, silently complaining in her heart. He clearly knows how attractive he is yet doesn’t bother to restrain himself, this man is just too unaware.
Leaving the hospital, the sky outside was already dark, the street lights had come on, and at some point, delicate snowflakes started to drift down from the sky.
As soon as she got in the car, Sharon’s call came through.
Bella picked up, "Hello, godmother."
Sharon’s voice came through the phone, sounding anxious, "Bella, it’s so late, are you still at the hospital? How’s Talia doing?"
"Godmother, don’t worry, Talia just caught a cold and had a fever, she just finished her IV drip, and the fever has subsided. We’re on our way back now."
Hearing this, Sharon was somewhat relieved, "That’s good. I just got home from work and Ethan told me Talia was sick, it made me so worried. It’s snowing outside, drive slowly, I’m cooking now, and you’ll arrive just in time for dinner."
"Okay. Oh, and godmother, please prepare a bit more, there’s an extra person." Bella glanced at Damian, who was driving beside her, and replied to Sharon with a bit of embarrassment.
Hearing her somewhat hesitant tone, Sharon paused before realizing, laughing, "Alright, I’ll prepare some extra. Does President Sinclair have any preference for food? I can still run to the nearby supermarket."
Though not face-to-face, Bella felt her ears heat up upon hearing Sharon’s laughter, "No need for special groceries, and apart from avoiding too spicy food, he isn’t picky. Godmother, we’ll be there soon, so I’ll hang up now."
Ending the call, Bella held the phone, her heart inexplicably racing. Just like secretly dating back in school only to be discovered by adults, she was a bit nervous.
Damian turned to look at her, a faint smile in his eyes, "Why do you still blush as easily as before?"
"That’s called having thin skin, unlike you, President Sinclair, whose face is as thick as a city’s wall," Bella shot him a look, put away her phone, and turned to the little girl in the car seat.
Thanks to the subsided fever, the little girl was sleeping comfortably, her breathing had calmed and was no longer as rushed.
Bella felt reassured.
The car pulled into the community’s parking garage, Bella said, "President Sinclair, stay for dinner before you leave."
Damian got out, carried the sleeping girl from the car over to her side, then said, "Ms. Acker, with such a gracious invitation, I naturally cannot refuse, please."
"President Sinclair, I realize you’re quite suited for acting, you recite those old phrases quite smoothly," Bella laughed, stepping ahead into the building’s lobby.
"I don’t have the time for that," Damian followed her upstairs.
Bella unlocked the door and entered, immediately smelling the aroma of food; Sharon, wearing an apron, was bringing dishes out from the kitchen. Seeing the trio, she smiled at once.
"You’re just in time, the stir-fried dishes are ready, only a tofu vegetable soup is left, come over and eat first. President Sinclair, could you please take Talia to the bedroom?"
