Chapter 879: Chapter 878: Schemes (2)
Judy Zimmerman said with some annoyance, "That Rhonda has such a heavy scheming nature!"
Cynthia Young also frowned, "It’s not uncommon in this circle to compete for roles, but for her agent team to plot against my artists like this, do they think I’m dead? Don’t worry, I’ll find out how the information got leaked."
"Hmm, let’s not talk about that for now." Bella Acker seemed more relaxed, smiling, "Ms. Young, has Director Ford arrived?"
"He’s already here, let’s go over first."
The three of them went from the elevator and took a long detour to reach the back door of the teahouse.
The teahouse business was quite good, and the decor was elegant. Each area with tables was individually separated with plants and arrangements, making it a suitable place to discuss matters.
"Director Ford." Bella Acker greeted with a smile as she walked up.
Director Ford was flipping through a screenplay, raised his head upon hearing her voice, and smiled, "How many times have I told you, call me Mr. Ford." Eventually, you’ll also call me godfather, calling me Director Ford now is too formal.
However, the latter words were only imagined by Director Ford, as not many people currently know about his situation with Sharon Cheney.
He wanted to make it public immediately, perhaps announce it on social media, but Sharon Cheney preferred to be low-key, and he had no choice.
"Mr. Ford." Bella Acker followed his lead and changed the way she addressed him, then looked at the person sitting next to Director Ford.
Director Ford introduced, "This is the head screenwriter Mr. Lawson."
Bella Acker immediately extended her hand, "Mr. Lawson, nice to meet you, I’ve heard so much about you."
"Ms. Acker, you’re too kind." The screenwriter also stood up with a smile and shook hands.
After mutual introductions, everyone took their seats, and Director Ford turned the screenplay in his hand around to push it in front of Bella Acker, "Bella, take a look at this screenplay."
"Hmm." Bella Acker accepted the screenplay with a smile and began flipping through it seriously.
She read about half of it before reluctantly putting it down and said, "It’s an excellent screenplay; whether it’s the coherence and excitement of the plot or the unique and richly developed characters, it’s all very captivating. If not for the limited time, I’d love to read it all at once."
The screenwriter felt very happy to receive praise for his adapted story.
Especially since Bella Acker seemed sincere, and read the screenplay very attentively, not flipping through it casually like she was just going through the motions, which increased the screenwriter’s good impression of her.
Director Ford smiled, "How about it? Are you interested in this screenplay? Do you want to try expressing it?"
"If possible, I’d certainly like to." Bella Acker didn’t hide her thoughts.
"I also want you to give it a try, after all, your acting is filled with spirit, has a strong adaptability, and is more anticipated," Director Ford spoke, turning to say, "Mr. Lawson, how about having Bella try a scene of the lead female Ariel Finch right here?"
"Sure. I think Ms. Acker’s overall image matches the profile of Ariel Finch well." Seeing as the director spoke like this, the screenwriter wasn’t foolish and could clearly see Director Ford planned to favor her, so naturally, he said along with his words.
"Alright, Bella, you’ve already read quite a bit of the screenplay, pick a section and do an audition," Director Ford said with a smile, "Since you returned from abroad, we haven’t worked together yet, I’d like to see the results of your years of studying."
"In front of Mr. Ford and Mr. Lawson, how could I possibly show off," Bella Acker said with a modest smile, "Then I’ll try the part where Ariel Finch boosts morale and leads the army in a breakout."
