Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife
Chapter 882 - 881: Suppressing Rhonda
Chapter 882: Chapter 881: Suppressing Rhonda
Everyone here is smart, so there’s no need to say more than necessary to get the point across.
Director Ford frowned, "Whose fans are camping outside?"
"Rhonda’s," Cynthia Young replied.
"Rhonda is considered an actress who knows how to hone her skills, yet she’s resorting to these underhanded tricks. Trying to use my new movie for publicity without considering her own standing," Director Ford sneered. "We’ll leave through the back door; we won’t give her free publicity just to gain popularity."
Cynthia smiled, "That’s exactly what I think. It’s mainly to prevent baseless rumors online about Bella stealing someone else’s role. Normally, we wouldn’t need to pay attention to such things, but being used by others is never pleasant."
Mr. Lawson, standing nearby, also sighed, "Ah, today’s artists really don’t know how to focus on their work and always look for shortcuts, not understanding that true success comes from hard work, step by step, with no shortcuts."
"Who are they trying to fool?" Director Ford scoffed, "The entire entertainment industry is being corrupted by people like them."
"I completely agree with Director Ford and Mr. Lawson," Cynthia nodded, seeming to ponder for a moment before adding, "Director Ford, we are veterans in this circle and should know that these unethical artists will have issues sooner or later. If we hire them, there’s a chance they might cause a major scandal, impacting all related projects and endorsements, so we must be careful. What do you think, Director?"
This was clearly suggesting not to give Rhonda any roles in Director Ford’s new drama, or any future ones for that matter.
Cynthia’s move was a bit ruthless, essentially cutting off Rhonda’s opportunities to work with Director Ford.
Screenwriter Lawson certainly understood that Cynthia was suppressing Rhonda. Such incidents are common in the industry, and Rhonda’s attempt at using publicity stunts and smearing Bella Acker was indeed unethical. It’s reasonable for Cynthia, as Bella’s manager, to pave the way and clear obstacles for her.
Thinking of this, Screenwriter Lawson pretended not to comprehend the underlying intentions in Cynthia’s words, positioning himself as an observer.
Upon hearing this, Director Ford glanced at Bella Acker and smiled, "Young, I understand very well, don’t worry."
"Director Ford, your insight is admirable," Cynthia politely nodded.
After finishing their work discussion, Director Ford shifted to a personal topic, "Bella, is your godmother having dinner at home tonight?"
Bella Acker smiled, "My godmother’s schedule is quite full today, so she probably won’t be home for dinner."
Director Ford sighed disappointingly, having not had dinner with Sharon Cheney for several days. But there was no other way as both were busy, and not living together made daily meetings a luxury, with phone calls being the only relief for their longing.
Director Ford said, "Bella, what about you? It’s getting late, want to have dinner together?"
"I probably can’t," Bella replied directly, without the need for pleasantries with Director Ford. "I have to pick up Talia soon, and Ethan should be finishing his piano practice, so I need to prepare dinner for the kids."
Before Bella Acker could finish speaking, her phone rang from her bag, displaying Damian Sinclair’s name.
