Chapter 881: Chapter 880: Leading Lady

As soon as Bella Acker opened her eyes, not only did her gaze change, but her entire aura transformed completely.

After finishing a scene, both Director Ford and Mr. Lawson were incredibly shocked.

Catching his breath, Director Ford said, "Bella, your acting skills are really..." as he gave a thumbs up.

This was not mere flattery.

Director Ford had previously worked with Bella Acker and knew what her acting was like at the time. Back then, her acting skills were self-taught, diligent yet still somewhat immature. Now, in addition to retaining her previous liveliness, she had gained many more techniques and depth.

Even Director Ford was amazed, let alone Mr. Lawson, who was working with her for the first time.

Mr. Lawson excitedly said, "Bella, the way you portrayed Ariel Finch is exactly how I envisioned her. It truly surprised me." To bridge the gap, the scriptwriter even changed Ms. Acker’s name to a more familiar nickname.

Bella Acker smiled slightly, and the resilient, domineering aura she had earlier had long since disappeared, "I’m relieved that I didn’t disappoint Mr. Ford and Mr. Lawson."

"Not only did you not disappoint, but you amazed us." Director Ford exchanged a glance with the scriptwriter before continuing, "Bella, would you be interested in taking on this role?"

Bella Acker said, "Mr. Ford, Mr. Lawson, if I said I really want to play the role of Ariel Finch, you wouldn’t laugh at me, would you?"

"Laugh? We couldn’t be happier!" Mr. Lawson immediately waved his hand, somewhat sighing, "As scriptwriters, we always want to find someone who closely matches the role in our minds, but now, with the demand for popularity, viewership, and being the face of the show, finding someone with acting skills is really difficult. Never mind, let’s not talk about that. Bella, if you can play Ariel Finch, I believe we’ll have a very pleasant collaboration."

Director Ford also looked at Bella Acker, the invitation in his eyes already very evident.

Bella Acker turned to look at Cynthia Young, as taking a script should be something handled by her agent.

Though she knew Cynthia Young would definitely agree to her taking this script, she still turned to seek Cynthia Young’s opinion.

This is out of trust and respect for her work partner.

Cynthia Young finally spoke, "In that case, we can discuss the contract details now."

Cynthia Young was very straightforward, fully conducting business without lowering the price because of Bella Acker’s relationship with Director Ford.

Bella Acker never involved herself in contract discussions, leaving everything to Cynthia Young. This is the trust and tacit understanding between them.

After the main contract terms were settled, the matter was finally agreed upon. Director Ford shook hands with Cynthia Young, saying, "I’ll head back and have someone print the contract, and send it to your studio tomorrow."

"Alright, then I’ll be waiting for your news tomorrow." Cynthia Young withdrew her hand and said, "By the way, Director Ford, there are quite a few reporters and fans waiting outside the teahouse. Did you have other meetings to discuss the script?"

Director Ford was taken aback, "No." Since he started planning this drama, he had talked with Sharon Cheney, who naturally recommended Bella Acker out of personal bias. From the beginning, Director Ford intended for Bella Acker to be the female lead, and today’s visit was merely a formality; he hadn’t arranged to meet anyone else.

Cynthia Young smiled, "Then Director Ford should probably leave through the back door to avoid any rumors about someone stealing someone else’s role."
