Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System
Chapter 420 How To Find Wolf Queen
"Your game is over."
Vikram looked straight at the Evolution King, his eyes filled with cold killing intent.
"Now, your immortality ends as well."
Although he still couldn’t understand how the Evolution King had survived the sea of flames without a scratch, none of that mattered anymore. The Crimson Flesh Tree was gone. Without it, the Evolution King had lost his greatest advantage.
The Evolution King quietly looked back at him before letting out a faint chuckle.
"Yes... I still don’t know how you managed to destroy the Crimson Flesh Tree." A hint of admiration appeared in his crimson eyes. "I must admit, you’ve surprised me. But..." His smile widened. "I’ve already collected enough data. Every ability you’ve displayed... every technique... every transformation... they’ve all been recorded."
He slowly raised a hand and tapped the side of his head. "The Zombie Emperor will be very pleased."
Vikram frowned. "The Zombie Emperor?" His eyes narrowed. "What do you mean he’ll be pleased? And who’s going to deliver him that data?"
The Evolution King’s smile never faded. "Of course... I am."
Vikram’s expression turned cold. "You?" A murderous aura erupted from his body. "You won’t be leaving this place alive."
As soon as those words fell, Vikram kicked off the ground.
The earth beneath his feet exploded as he shot forward like a bolt of lightning, his twin swords aimed directly at the Evolution King’s neck. He didn’t care what the Evolution King was planning. He only knew one thing, he couldn’t allow him to escape.
However, just before Vikram reached him, the space behind the Evolution King suddenly distorted. A pitch-black portal silently opened. The Evolution King stepped backward into it without the slightest panic.
Before his figure disappeared completely, he looked at Vikram one last time. A faint smile remained on his face.
"I truly enjoyed watching your battle. I hope you’ll be ready... when we meet again."
The portal instantly collapsed. By the time Vikram’s swords cut through the spot where the Evolution King had been standing, nothing remained. Only empty air.
"...Damn it!"
Vikram clenched his fists, his face dark with frustration. Despite destroying the Crimson Flesh Tree and cornering the Evolution King, he had still allowed his enemy to escape.
After the Evolution King disappeared, Vikram stood silently for a few moments, staring at the battlefield.
The once terrifying crater had become a sea of ashes. The towering Crimson Flesh Tree was gone. The endless Zombie Commanders had vanished. Only blackened earth and drifting ash remained, carried away by the gentle wind. There wasn’t a single trace of life left.
Vikram let out a slow breath before turning toward the edge of the crater. The allied army was already waiting there, watching him anxiously.
With a light leap, he climbed out of the crater.
The moment they saw him emerge safely, Lyra, Kara, Carol, Liora, Evelyn, Aurelia, and the others immediately rushed toward him.
"My King!"
"You did it!"
"You won!"
Vikram nodded with a faint smile. "We won."
His gaze swept across everyone before becoming slightly solemn. Although the battle had ended, he knew it wasn’t a complete victory. The System had already declared the mission complete, proving that every zombie within the Southern Argenti Forest had been wiped out.
However... the true mastermind had escaped. The Evolution King had survived. Somewhere beyond the forest, he was undoubtedly carrying everything he had learned back to the mysterious Zombie Emperor. That future threat still remained.
Even so... the nightmare that had haunted the Southern Argenti Forest for countless years had finally come to an end.
Vikram looked at the gathered army and spoke in a calm voice. "The battle is over."
A wave of relief spread through the crowd.
Lyra stepped forward with a gentle smile, unable to hide the pride in her eyes. Kara stretched her arms before letting out a long sigh of relief. "I was starting to think those zombies would never end."
Carol smiled brightly, the tension that had weighed on her heart finally disappearing. Liora quietly closed her eyes and offered a silent prayer of gratitude.
Evelyn smiled softly as she looked at Vikram, her eyes filled with admiration.
Aurelia crossed her arms and gave a satisfied nod. "As expected... you never disappoint."
Soon, the united army regrouped and began their journey home. Unlike when they had marched into the Blood Marsh, every step now felt light. There was no longer any fear. No tension. No uncertainty. Only the joy of survival and victory.
As they passed through one territory after another, cheers erupted everywhere they went. The news had already spread throughout the Southern Argenti Forest. The zombie horde had been annihilated. The Crimson Flesh Tree had been destroyed. The Blood Marsh had fallen.
Every tribe welcomed the returning heroes with expressions of gratitude and excitement. Warriors raised their weapons in celebration, while countless ordinary survivors bowed deeply toward the allied army.
---
Several days later, Vikram and the united army finally returned to the Mist Tribe.
The enormous wooden gates slowly opened. The moment the warriors stepped through them, countless werewolves gathered along both sides of the road. Their eyes were filled with admiration, gratitude, and respect.
"Welcome home, King Vikram!"
The shout echoed across the tribe. In the next instant, deafening cheers erupted from every direction.
"Long live King Vikram!"
"Long live the Eastern Alliance!"
"Our King has returned!"
The celebrations continued without end as the people welcomed the heroes who had saved the Southern Argenti Forest from destruction. Children ran through the streets excitedly, while the older werewolves bowed respectfully.
The warriors who had participated in the battle were greeted with smiles and heartfelt gratitude wherever they went.
The entire Mist Tribe was immersed in celebration.
---
After returning to the Mist Tribe, Vikram remained there for many days. With the war finally over, he set aside the burdens of leadership and spent his time with his wives, enjoying the peaceful life they had all fought so hard to protect.
The lively atmosphere gradually returned to the tribe. Laughter once again filled the streets. Training grounds became lively as young warriors resumed their daily practice. Markets reopened, and the once-tense settlement regained its warmth.
During this peaceful period, Vikram also frequently visited the settlement where the human Awakeners had been accommodated.
There, he spent time with Bushra, Sana, Ayesha, Pooja, Neha, and Kavya. After enduring the horrors of the zombie invasion together, they finally had the opportunity to relax, talk, laugh, and enjoy the peace they had helped create.
Day by day, the scars left behind by the zombie war gradually faded. The destroyed villages were rebuilt. The wounded recovered. Life slowly returned to normal throughout the Southern Argenti Forest.
---
One morning, Vikram went to visit the Mist King.
When he arrived, he found the Mist King and the Sand King sitting together in the courtyard, quietly drinking tea.
The Mist King looked up and smiled. "You’re here early today."
Vikram sat opposite him. "Grandfather, I’d like to ask you something."
The Mist King’s expression turned serious. "What is it?"
"Where can I find the Wolf Queen?"
The Sand King glanced at Vikram, but the Mist King wasn’t surprised. He simply set down his teacup and stood. "Come with me."
He led Vikram into a nearby study, where a large map of the werewolf territories hung on the wall. The Mist King pointed at the southern region.
"Our world is divided into five great forests. Together, they are the homeland of every werewolf. This is the Southern Argenti Forest, where we live."
His finger moved west. "To the west lies the West Palesti Forest."
Then east. "To the east is the East Dragon Forest."
Finally north. "And here is the North Amazon Forest."
Vikram silently memorized the map.
The Mist King’s finger moved to the largest region at the center. "This is the Central Fenrir Kingdom. It is different from the other four forests. The Southern Argenti Forest, the West Palesti Forest, the East Dragon Forest, and the North Amazon Forest are each ruled by their own king. You are now the King of the Southern Argenti Forest."
"But the Central Fenrir Kingdom is ruled by a single person... the Wolf Queen. She is not merely the queen of the Central Fenrir Kingdom. She is recognized as the ruler of all werewolves. The four kings govern their own territories, but none stand above her. Whenever the werewolf race faces a crisis, every king must answer her call. The title of Wolf Queen has existed for thousands of years, and only the strongest and most respected werewolf can inherit it."
Vikram finally understood why the System wanted him to find her. She was the supreme ruler of the entire werewolf race.
After a moment, Vikram looked at his grandfather. "So... if I want to meet the Wolf Queen..."
"You must travel to the Central Fenrir Kingdom," the Mist King replied. "The journey is long, crossing several forests. Along the way, you’ll encounter powerful tribes and many dangers. And even as the King of the Southern Argenti Forest, you cannot simply request an audience with her. The Wolf Queen only meets those who have a reason worthy of her attention."
Vikram nodded. He had grown up hearing stories about the Wolf Queen. Back then, they had seemed like legends. Now, the System had given him a mission that required him to meet her in person.
After a brief silence, he stood. "I understand."
The Mist King gave a small nod. "Then prepare yourself. Your journey to the Central Fenrir Kingdom is only beginning."
