Chapter 545 - 299: The Dragon Knight Returns

  • Next Chapter

Baron heard Elder Pence laugh coldly behind him.

Then he felt a crushing blow to his back. He looked down and saw Elder Pence’s Dragon Claw bursting from his chest!!!

He turned his head slightly to see Elder Pence sneering at him. "Unfortunately, it seems Hell has no welcome for an old man like me."

Elder Pence retracted his Dragon Claw and, with a casual push, watched dispassionately as Baron plummeted into the Abyss.

It was all over.

Elder Pence turned and announced to the crowd of Law Enforcers at the cliff’s edge:

"The Lawbreaker, Baron Constantin, has been executed!!!"

After a moment of silence, the younger generation of the Hestia Family erupted in cheers. They were ecstatic that the culprit behind Roy Hestia’s murder was finally dead.

The remaining Law Enforcers, however, merely exchanged whispers, none of them appearing particularly happy.

Clearly, they were still reeling from the shock of the battle between Dragon Knight Baron Constantin and Elder Pence and had yet to fully process it.

The eldest daughter, Isabella, looked at the Wizards forming an Array at the cliff’s edge, and behind them, the similarly meditating Celestial Horse Knights. She muttered to herself, "Mutual destruction... Is this what you wanted to do?"

「At the edge of Traitor’s Cliff.」

Elder Pence watched Celestial Horse Yisur step forward and asked in a low voice, "Does the Holy Hall wish to arrest me so soon?"

Celestial Horse Yisur replied, "I am simply following orders."

"Following orders?" Elder Pence laughed.

"Then I’m afraid I’ll have to disappoint you, Mr. Yi Su. According to the Holy Hall’s judicial system, passing Judgement on someone requires the approval of four or more of the Six Great Knight Clans."

Elder Pence continued, "The Hestia and Antel Families will not approve. As for Lancelot’s Family... I believe you should at least try to ask the Lancelot Family Head for his opinion."

Celestial Horse Yisur said in a low voice, "The Golden Knight needs an explanation for your collusion with the Dragon Eater Association, along with Roy Hestia and several Griffin Knights from the Griffin Knight Order."

"An explanation?" Elder Pence chuckled. "Tell Mr. Bode that Roy Hestia and the Griffin Knights are already dead. On the Inner Side, isn’t death the best Judgement?"

"The Hestia Family will pay due compensation to the Old Race members who lost their children, relatives, and friends."

"As for me," Elder Pence whispered, "do you really think those cowardly, life-clinging members of the Elder Council in the Holy Hall would dare pass Judgement on a Silver Knight who has regained his youth? Especially when the Mad Dragon is on the verge of reawakening?"

"The Array that seals the Mad Dragon requires the Golden Lion. And right now, in the entire Inner Side, I am the only one who can summon the Golden Lion."

He said in a low voice, "So not only will the Holy Hall not pass Judgement on me, but neither will the Law Enforcement Organization or the Old Blood Clans. They need me, and as long as they need me, I am invincible."

"I’ve thought about it, and I find what Elder Pence says to be quite reasonable. The Elders of the Holy Hall would indeed not be quick to pass Judgement on a Silver Tier Knight, even if he has likely colluded with the Dragon Eater Association, murdered the Leader of the Lion Eye Knight Order, and even tried to cooperate with the Dragon Witch to release the Mad Dragon from Traitor’s Cliff..."

Elder Pence suddenly froze, and not just because of Celestial Horse Yisur’s dispassionate tone, which sounded almost like a formal declaration.

It was also because Celestial Horse Yisur had someone clasp Forbidden Magic manacles onto his hands, and then watched him silently as he spoke in a low voice:

"So I must thank you, Elder Pence, for helping me see this so clearly. Since the Holy Hall and the Law Enforcement Organization cannot pass Judgement on you... we’ll leave it to him to judge you."

RUMBLE!

The Mad Dragon’s roar echoed from the Abyss again, louder than ever before, like the sound of mountains crashing together.

In a flash of lightning, Elder Pence saw the Dragon Knight clinging to the cliffside!!!

The smile instantly vanished from Elder Pence’s face.

The Dragon Knight’s voice was grim as he spoke to Elder Pence.

"I told you we were going to Hell together."

Elder Pence echoed the words Isabella had sent to the Dragon Knight earlier via a Spiritual Power message: "Is it really necessary?"

But this time, Baron answered with grim seriousness, "Absolutely necessary!"

Having said this, he completely ignored the Battle Nuns and Griffin Knights swooping in from the cliff’s edge and lunged at Elder Pence. No matter how Elder Pence struggled and screamed, using explosive bursts of Spiritual Pressure to shatter his bones, he did not let go!!!

And he did not loosen his jaw!!!!

The sheer madness of the scene stunned everyone present.

They had never seen such a bloody and savage spectacle. It was like two lions on the African plains, cornered and fighting to the death, tearing and biting, each willing to sacrifice their life to kill the other.

Governor Howard was visibly moved. "He may lack reason," he said softly, "but he has madness in spades."

Elvin, meanwhile, was astonished. "They’re still not dead? Are the Dragon Knight and Elder Pence both Hamlet or something?"

A Law Enforcer’s lips trembled as he murmured, "A Bronze Tier Dragon Knight can nearly hold his own against a Silver Tier... I can’t imagine what he’d be like if he reached Silver Tier..."

He didn’t finish his sentence, but everyone understood its unspoken implication.

Baron Constantin was so young, yet he could already trade blows with a Silver Tier. Who knew what his future potential held?

"Baron Constantin... a Dragon Knight..." Kesha heard the Dragon Demon Hunter, Andy, mutter beside her.

The Lancelot Family Head whispered to his daughter, "Freya, do you regret it?"

At that moment, Freya could only silently watch the battle on the cliff. She then shook her head. "I have no regrets. I only hate that I lacked Baron Constantin’s strength to avenge Anthony."
