Chapter 177: Chapter 159: There Are Many Races in the Deep Sea Region

This was what Rowan Rhodes truly wanted to know. She firmly believed that as long as there was even a sliver of a chance, every single player would risk their lives to return home.

"I’m not sure about that, but I do know that past mission targets, after their races established their own cities and factions in the Deep Sea Region, could bring their relatives over from their original worlds," Void Beast Atticus explained simply. "Also, it seems some cities and factions chose to enter even deeper waters. However, no news has ever come back from those who went there. I can ask around later to see what they do in those deeper areas." He shared what he knew and offered to inquire about the things he didn’t.

A touch of emotion flashed through Rowan’s eyes as she listened. "Thank you, Atticus. If you hadn’t told me all this, I truly would have been completely in the dark."

This information was incredibly precious to her. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say it pointed out her future direction. While she had originally planned to build her own maritime fortress, it was primarily to follow the raft’s upgrade path to withstand more of the game’s risks. Now, however, it was much more about self-preservation.

After all, entering the Deep Sea Region was an inevitable progression in the Sea Survival Game. If they entered without sufficient power, their fate would likely be far from pleasant! Furthermore, her previous idea of looking out only for herself probably wouldn’t work anymore. Once they entered the Deep Sea Region, players like them wouldn’t just represent individuals—they would represent an entire race. Only by uniting the Strength of their race could they form a major faction to protect their achievements. Otherwise, they would just be waiting to be carved up by other races.

Judging from the situation with Void Beast Atticus’s family, they were also lacking resources. This could only mean that resource plundering in the deep sea was extremely severe. In that case, wouldn’t the Azure players—who had just acquired massive amounts of resources from the Shallow Sea and the Coastal Waters—be the plumpest prey of all?

She especially thought about the underlying setup of the Sea Survival Game. On the surface, it encouraged players to improve their survival rates, but beneath that, it implicitly drove them to compete and plunder one another. Behind this was not just a selection process, but a conspiracy designed to turn players like them into the cash cows of those races in the Deep Sea Region.

Rowan wondered if the controllers of this sea game were actually the Native People of the Deep Sea Region. The victims were not just their Azure, but other planets as well. Once the races from these planets entered the Deep Sea Region and gained a firm foothold, what would their choices be? Would they join the oppressors? Or would they seek a way to return to their home planets? Rowan thought there were probably cases of both.

So, once Azure entered the Deep Sea Region, what would they choose? If they welcomed their relatives over, did that mean they had to abandon Azure? And if they abandoned Azure, what would be the planet’s ultimate fate? Was this the true goal of those deep-sea races?

After all, many of the rewards in the Sea Survival Game were resources that originated from Azure. Items like bread, mineral water, instant noodles, cake, and cola... Judging from Seabird One’s reaction, the creatures here didn’t recognize any of these items. Could this prove that the Sea Survival Game was supplying these resources directly from Azure?

The more Rowan thought about it, the more her heart pounded with dread. She knew her thoughts were spiraling a bit, but these were absolutely logical deductions.

"You’re welcome! This is common knowledge that everyone in the Deep Sea Region knows anyway," Void Beast Atticus said casually.

"Speaking of which, I had to use a Skill just to communicate with you guys," Rowan continued to ask. "Once we enter the Deep Sea Region, will there be some method that allows different races to communicate with each other?"

"Yep! After entering the Deep Sea Region, there are various translation goods. There’s Magic Fruit, Skill Cards, translators... Consuming or using these will automatically allow you to understand the languages of all races," Void Beast Atticus quickly explained.

Just from this brief Introduction, Rowan understood something crucial. In the Deep Sea Region, not only were the races different, but even their civilizations varied. The Magic Fruit belonged to a Magic Civilization, while the Skill Cards and translators belonged to a technological civilization.

The fact that these items could only be acquired after entering the deep sea proved one thing: the probability of players encountering these goods while in the Shallow Sea Region and the Coastal Waters Region was incredibly low.

"You mentioned before that we are your mission targets," Rowan said. "So, aside from your race, will other races also come out to do missions? Will we run into them?"
