Chapter 196: Chapter 171: I Really Hope It’s Not Rowan Rhodes

"Does anyone have more specific information? Share it!"

"Who knows which direction Harold Thompson and his crew went when they left Void Isle? I want to tag along and pick up some scraps."

"So jealous. How did they happen to stumble upon it!"

"Harold Thompson: Hehe, I’m just lucky! So, if anyone wants to join my crew, you can sign up right now."

"Heh, what a gloating upstart."

"Henry Quinn: Copy that, on my way."

"Elias Ziegler: Boss, wait for us."

"Sean Rowan: Boss, you’re amazing."

"What if you guys can’t meet up at the shipwreck’s location? This is just your own guess!"

"Actually, according to the mechanics of the islands, this shipwreck location might just work out."

"To think they actually profited from this."

"What if we use a Positioning Card to track Harold Thompson and his guys?"

"Forget it! They have quite a few people; we probably wouldn’t gain any advantage."

"Unless a few big shots make a move, it won’t be that easy."

"Harold Thompson was talking so much trash earlier. Big shots, do you want to give it a try? There’s also the resources of a shipwreck waiting for you!"

"Harold Thompson: Stop coming up with random ideas. The big shots have their own pace, and maybe they’ll find other shipwrecks!"

"Haha, Harold Thompson, you’re panicking."

"..."

Harold Thompson looked at the sour comments on the screen and scoffed a few times. Noticing that no players on the World Channel had used a Positioning Card, he breathed a sigh of relief. Ultimately, he still felt smug. These people were definitely jealous of him, which was why they were instigating trouble. It was a sunken shipwreck, after all!

Shifting his gaze away from the World Channel, Harold Thompson continued heading toward the shipwreck location marked on the Map. As his raft sailed on, he drew closer and closer to the sunken ship.

However, upon getting nearer, he spotted a silhouette in the distance. The moment he saw it, his heart skipped a beat. He recognized the shape—it was a raft.

What did this mean? It meant another player had already discovered the shipwreck’s location ahead of him. Earlier, when he mentioned it in the chat, not a single player had spoken up.

With this in mind, Harold Thompson returned to the World Channel.

"Harold Thompson: @Simon Quinn @Elias Ziegler @Sean Rowan @..., I see a raft at the shipwreck’s location. There might already be a player here, but they’re alone. Hurry up and get here."

Obviously, even though the shipwreck had been discovered by another player, Harold Thompson had no intention of giving up. He planned to leverage his team’s advantage to bully a lone target with superior numbers. That way, they might be able to seize the majority of the shipwreck’s resources. Taking it a step further into villainy, they could even rob the player outright. This would truly be the epitome of making a fortune in silence.

Harold Thompson’s message sparked another heated discussion in the World Channel.

"Another player actually got there first?"

"This is trouble. They’ve run into District 122’s evil syndicate."

"Harold Thompson’s intentions are obvious—he wants to snatch the shipwreck’s resources. That player is in danger."

"Actually, since his crew hasn’t arrived yet, the best move for that player is to leave the shipwreck with whatever resources they’ve already gathered. Otherwise, they’ll not only lose the loot but also their life."

"Yeah! That’s a solid plan. I just wonder who this player is and whether they’re reading the World Channel. If they see this, they need to run immediately."

"I’m afraid they might already be in the middle of exploring the sunken ship, which is even more dangerous! If their raft is destroyed, the player will die by default!"

"Harold Thompson: Aren’t you guys being a bit hypocritical? When it’s me, I’m a ’gloating upstart,’ and you urge the big shots to take me down. But for this other player, you’re giving them ideas on how to escape!"

"@Harold Thompson, isn’t it because your group is just too detestable?"

"Exactly! You really need to reflect on yourselves."

"Managing to unify everyone’s opinions like this—you guys are truly successful. Successful villains."

"Maybe we really can use a Positioning Card to head over. We have a righteous cause now!"

"To that unknown player: if you reached the shipwreck first, hurry up and surface."

"Come to think of it, if this player is exploring the shipwreck and seems to have arrived a while ago, they should be listing the resources they’ve gathered in the Sea Survival Shop! There’s no way they have enough backpack slots for all that, right?"

"What does this mean? Does it mean they’ve only just started exploring?"

"No! There’s another possibility. This player is a big shot with plenty of backpack slots to store the shipwreck’s resources, so they don’t need to list them in the Sea Survival Shop."

"There aren’t many players in our district who can pull that off!"

"True, only big shots like Rowan Rhodes and Zelda Parrish. They probably have more Space Stones on hand."

"No, no, no! I feel like even Zelda Parrish couldn’t do this. She only recently started working for Boss Rowan Rhodes, and the resources from a shipwreck number in the thousands."

"It’s still possible. Boss Rowan Rhodes has so many Space Stones; it would be completely normal for him to advance a few to his trusted aide!"

"I honestly hope the player who arrived early is Boss Rowan Rhodes. Let Harold Thompson and his gang experience what it feels like to fall from heaven straight into hell."

"Haha, just imagining that scene makes me laugh out loud."

"Praying for this."

"Praying +1."

"Harold Thompson: Aren’t you guys going too far?! Cursing me?"

"Harold Thompson: Curses don’t come true that easily! It definitely won’t be Rowan Rhodes!"

"Stubborn to the end. Harold Thompson, you’re scared, aren’t you!"

"..."

Harold Thompson looked at the uniform schadenfreude sweeping across the World Channel and fell silent. Listening to the other players’ analysis, he had to admit that he was genuinely a little scared.

He stared fixedly at the black dot in the distance, hoping to god it wasn’t Rowan Rhodes!
