"Would it be possible not to store any information about me whenever I pick a mission?"

The question made Asher think for a moment. Adam’s concerns were understandable. His disciple didn’t want to live like a prisoner. And if the recent assassination attempt had taught them something, it was that those who were after did not care where Adam was.

"That can be arranged." The vice-principal nodded. "Though you’d still be seen in public."

"I have a solution for that, master." Adam quickly explained as they stepped into one of the empty elevators. "I’ve been thinking about it for some time now. As long as there are no digital records anyone could just access, then I’ll be fine."

"Good. You’re thinking ahead." Asher praised with an appreciative nod. "Is there anything else you’d like to add? At this point, you’re already your own man. It hurts to say, but your talents are just too broken. How am I supposed to show off my experience as your master when you already know everything?"

The vice-principal shook his head.

Adam could not help but smile wryly. After a moment of pondering, he said, "You’ve already done a lot for me, master, and we’ve met just recently. It’s actually been over a month, but still."

The elevator doors opened to the ground floor, the two walking out towards the exit.

"I also know you’ve been handling a few things you think I’ve not realised. You’re the reason I’ve not been approached by the retainers of the elites or their children."

Adam’s words drew Asher’s sharp gaze, a flicker of surprise flashing through them. He looked at the boy whose gaze seemed distant.

"So you knew..." Asher remarked calmly, returning his gaze forward.

"Yeah."

Adam would be blind not to see the subtle things happening around him. For all intents and purposes, the children of the elites and powerful were a dime a dozen in the academy. He should be drowning in pressure from all sides.

And yet, he continued to move around freely.

"I really appreciate what you do for me, master." He had come to a decision after thinking through everything. "That’s more than most would ever do for a stranger."

Leaving the healing department, they continued towards the street, drawing attention wherever they passed.

"That’s why..." Adam continued, stopping.

The vice-principal also stopped, sensing that the boy was about to reveal something. Adam turned to face him, staring right into his purple eyes.

"Adam, not-"

Asher tried to stop Adam from speaking, but the boy cut him off when a subtle shift in the air around them caught his attention. His senses quickly realised what it was.

’A sound barrier.’ His heart skipped a small beat, the implications shocking.

"It’s alright, master," Adam said with a gentle smile. "No one can see or hear us right now, physically or digitally."

Asher’s eyes widened ever so slightly, his heart thumping. His disciple possessed a lot more secrets than he initially thought! Without hesitation, he added his own layer of protection, locking the space around them.

"You’ve wondered about my secrets, but there isn’t much to say, as this has everything to do with my awakened affinity."

Asher narrowed his eyes, listening to Adam’s words attentively. He dared not miss anything.

"My affinity..."

Asher held his breath, his anticipation building.

"...is called Genesis."

The vice-principal showed no immediate reaction, the true meaning of the affinity eluding him.

Seeing his reaction, Adam added, "That means I can create anything I understand."

"!"

Asher’s eyes finally widened to their limits, his heart thundering. His mind worked fast, mulling over Adam’s words and what it actually meant.

’Th- any- imp-’

The vice-principal’s mind was in chaos. One coherent thought could not form over the other. Everything he had thought and believed he knew about Adam came crashing down like a sandcastle. For more than a minute, silence reigned over the place.

Adam calmly observed his master’s rapidly changing expressions, sensing how the revelation was wreaking havoc on his emotions. After what felt like an eternity, the vice-principal exhaled.

"So that’s what it is," Asher said, taking a long look at his disciple. "None of my guesses ever came close."

He could not believe his disciple awakened such an affinity. Possessing the power to create anything as long as he understood the principles behind it.

The potential of such an affinity was godly.

"My Dad and I agreed that I would only reveal two abilities, but I can do so much more."

"Hehe. I don’t doubt that," Asher chuckled as he looked at the sound barrier again.

Thinking back to the assassination attempt, he could see how Adam could have survived the encounter. Several abilities could indeed help him achieve that.

A lot of things began to make sense at that moment. Adam’s ridiculous intelligence no longer felt far-fetched. To understand and create, he would naturally need the requisite intelligence to match.

"I think I need some time to think through everything," Asher admitted with a sigh, turning around.

The sound barrier and locked space dissolved as they continued walking.

Adam glanced at his master, not uttering another word. Anyone would have the same reaction as the man. Genesis was indeed a broken affinity, or rather, primordial as the rank stated.

The vice-principal didn’t even have to know about his unique skill and physique. Genesis was more than enough to fill in the gaps.

As the two continued down the street, pedestrians continued to observe but not approach. They cut a unique scene for those who watched them, as it was a rather uncommon sight. Asher had a presence that screamed power and elite status, naturally keeping other people away.

Then there was the infamous Adam who was almost always in the headlines.

The duo took several turns as they slowly made their way to the dormitory area of the academy. Asher would occasionally take a glance at his disciple, the look in his eyes intense.

’He must have a lot of questions,’ Adam thought with a gentle smile on his face. His expression hardened the next second, his resolve cementing. ’I’m sorry it took a while, but what I’ve revealed will have to be enough.’

"Adam..."

The vice-principal finally spoke, his gaze forward. "Is there any-"

"Just my dad and now you." Adam cut in, answering the question.

"Good. It must stay that way." Asher replied, turning to face his disciple. "Continue what you’re already doing. And when necessary, do what you need to do to survive. I’ll take care of the rest."

He placed a hand on Adam’s shoulder and added, "Stay safe out there."

With that, the vice-principal tapped into his Space Affinity and teleported Adam to the entrance of the first-year dormitory.

Asher lingered on the street for a while, looking in the direction of the dormitory. ’His affinity changes everything.’

Should the elites find out what Adam’s potential truly was, they would most definitely fight to forcefully claim him.

’It was smart of him to keep his affinity hidden.’

He vanished a moment later.
