While Others Evolved, I Understood Reality

Chapter 102: Problems And Solutions

  • Next Chapter

Adam appeared at the forecourt of his dormitory, his sudden appearance turning several heads in his direction. A commotion broke out before he could even recover his bearings.

"Yo, it’s Adam!"

"Adam?"

Several students rushed toward him with hesitation, more running over. Before long, he was surrounded on all sides.

"Dude, we heard you survived another assassination attempt?! How did you survive that?!"

"Yeah. Is there a trick you use or something?!"

"Is it true that the assassins were in the Third Realm?!"

"What about your car? It’s totally trashed, right?!!"

"He doesn’t look so good."

The questions came at Adam rapidly, overwhelming him. He looked at their faces, noticing the look in the eyes of the majority.

There were no traces of concern in them; just a desire to know how he survived and what transpired that night.

’Tsk.’

Pushing his way through the crowd, he freed himself and sped off, vanishing from sight.

"..."

"When did he get that fast?"

The students could only wonder dazedly, impressed at Adam’s blinding speed.

Adam did not bother with the elevator. He took the steps, and within seconds, he was at the top floor, standing before his door.

"Ha..." He let out a resigned sigh and unlocked the door. "Just what do they take me for?"

Entering his room, he closed the door behind him and leaned against it. He took a moment to gather his thoughts, his mind wandering to the conversation he had just had with his master.

’He said he would take care of the rest.’ Adam thought with a grateful smile. ’He’s truly one of a kind. I should find a way to repay his kindness.’

Pushing off the door, he moved straight to the bathroom, as he hadn’t had a shower since everything began. He hadn’t had anything to eat either. About an hour later, he stepped out feeling clean and refreshed.

He went to the closet to get himself into some sweatpants and a T-shirt. He jumped onto his bed, lay on his back, and stared at the ceiling.

’I should get a new phone before Mom bites my head off.’

Sitting up, he pushed himself off the bed and moved to the sitting area, a cup of noodles appearing in his hand. He utilised his abilities to create the water and used temperature regulation to cook the noodles.

Before long, he was stuffing his face.

When he finished that cup, he pulled out another and continued. Adam went through two more cups before slowing down. And as he slowed down his eating, his mind naturally drifted to a few problems he had come to realise.

Even before the attempt on his life, he had been thinking about his Spark reserves. Some of his abilities required an enormous amount of Spark for proper utilisation.

His realm’s capacity, although three times more, was not enough

’The obvious solution is to raise my realm as fast as possible.’ He thought to himself, slowly eating what remained in the cup. ’But that solution is dependent on my cultivation speed and ambient Spark.’

It was a long-term process he could not afford to wait on.

Finishing the cup, he sat back and stared at the ceiling. The Spark core could not be forced to hold more essence than needed. It wasn’t a physical organ but an abstract one.

The abstract organ was very fragile.

He had looked at it extensively ever since he first discovered its existence. Tempering with it could be disastrous. It could potentially lead to crippling if care was not taken.

’There is also the mental backlash I suffered after stacking so many skills.’

The backlash itself came from a few specific abilities/skills in his arsenal, as they involved complex calculations via information processing.

Perception Overdrive.

Predictive Sequence.

Vector Dominion.

Adam had studied and knew his biology well enough to know that his brain and body weren’t the problem. His brain was not weak. The backlash was a result of his mind processing too much information through the same biological pathways all at once.

Without his brain actually being at that processing capability, he would always suffer a backlash. He could not afford to be weakened every time he used those skills.

This brought him back to evolution. To reduce the strain on his mind, he would have to evolve his biology to a higher realm. As he sat on the sofa thinking, his eyes suddenly lit up.

"Yes!"

Adam shot to his feet, his expression brightening. "Hahaha...! Yes! The answer was so obvious! Who said I had to have just one?!"

In a flash, he appeared before his desk and grabbed his notepad and a pen. He quickly scribbled down the solutions that came to mind, his hand swiftly moving across the pages.

Who said he had to have just one? Who said he had to have just one Spark core? Who said he had to just have one brain?

"I can do this... This too... This system might work better... Maybe all of it... Auxiliary processor..."

Adam muttered incoherently as he wrote down everything that came to him.

The solution he had come up with was genius. Since the Spark core was an abstract organ, he could create additional ones in other parts of his body without affecting any organ or tissue.

But a new problem arose.

Syncing the auxiliary cores to the primary one in his chest would be challenging. There were also the Spark channels and how the essence would flow without disruption.

But Adam did not care.

He would cross that bridge when he got there.

The brain problem also required a secondary brain, one that would do the majority of the heavy lifting and processing before being passed to him. He eventually sat down to polish the solutions, ruling out what would not work.

Adam’s excitement was through the roof. He could not wait to attempt his proposed solution. But he also knew caution was important, as a slight mishap could cripple him for good.

Several minutes of thinking trickled into hours as Adam continued working out the finer details, utilising every ounce of intelligence and knowledge he possessed about Spark circulation, Spark channels and his biology as a whole.

A knock on his door broke his immersion at some point.

"What is it now?" Grumbling under his breath, he looked through the door. "Oh."
