Chapter 332: Chapter 189: The Troublesome Swarm! The Rock Armor Eagle’s Key Assist! Catching the Ferocious Poison Bee King

The swarm had already gone into a frenzy. But with their abilities providing protection, the bees wouldn’t be a threat for the time being. They had to hurry up and find the queen.

For one, their abilities couldn’t stay active forever. For another, if the hive had another exit and the Ferocious Poison Bee King felt threatened and escaped, the whole trip would be for nothing.

The two of them didn’t dare to destroy the hive by force, fearing they might injure the Fierce Poisonous Bees inside. That would do more harm than good. After all, once they tamed the queen, these Fierce Poisonous Bees would be theirs, so it was best to be as gentle as possible.

So the two of them could only take the shovels they had prepared and start digging into the mud tower. They began prying it open from the top, bit by bit, searching for the queen inside.

None of the four knew the queen’s location yet, but Chen Chong had been using his Perception Ring ever since he got close.

With the help of the Extraordinary Artifact, Chen Chong quickly sensed all the Fierce Poisonous Bees within a ten-meter radius.

What he found was staggering.

Inside the mud tower before him, minuscule life signatures were packed densely together—numbering at least a thousand!

It had to be understood that Fierce Poisonous Bees were no ordinary wild bees. A single one was extremely dangerous; in a swarm of a thousand, even Extraordinary Creatures probably couldn’t withstand them.

No wonder the Jungle Atlas specified that even typical Extraordinary Creatures didn’t dare provoke these creatures.

If that Terror Wolf King from before—the one that was evolving into an Extraordinary Creature—had come here, it likely wouldn’t have lasted even thirty seconds under the swarm’s assault before suffering the same fate as that brown bear.

But this didn’t deter Chen Chong. On the contrary, it made him even more determined to tame the Fierce Poisonous Bees.

’If you’re going to raise something, it has to be something this fierce!’

Not only did the Fire Silk Honey they produced have special effects, but if he raised them right, he might even be able to command and control them.

’Imagine it... going into a fight with a thousand Fierce Poisonous Bees. Wouldn’t that be like having my own insect army?’

’As long as it wasn’t an Extraordinary Creature with terrifying defense like a Blood-tooth Python or a Stone Claw Eagle, no one could withstand an attack from so many Fierce Poisonous Bees.’

’Even a Unihorn Catfish would be stung to death!’

Of course, that was just a daydream. Making it a reality would be very difficult.

Setting aside whether the Fierce Poisonous Bees would even be that obedient, there was the simple fact that they died after losing their stingers. Chen Chong wouldn’t lead them on a suicide mission.

’Otherwise, what would be the point of taming them?’

However, if he could cultivate them in the future, guide their evolution toward becoming Extraordinary Creatures, perhaps he could eliminate that fatal flaw of dying after they sting. Then he could realize his dream of an attendant insect army...

Chen Chong pushed those thoughts from his mind and refocused his attention on the life signatures from the Perception Ring.

Amidst the life signatures of nearly a thousand Fierce Poisonous Bees, he detected one that was larger and had a much stronger presence.

If he wasn’t mistaken, the source of this life signature... was the Ferocious Poison Bee King!

It was located in the underground portion of the nest. Sure enough, the hive didn’t just extend above ground; it had been hollowed out underneath as well.

Fortunately, the underground section wasn’t very deep, only about two meters down.

The Ferocious Poison Bee King was slowly moving downward, clearly sensing the danger and trying to hide in the deepest part of the hive...

’There’s no escape for you...’

A smile played on Chen Chong’s lips as he began to swing his iron shovel.

He had to admit, the mud tower’s structure was incredibly hard. No wonder even rain couldn’t damage it.

It took Chen Chong and Qi Zhen at least thirty to forty percent of their strength just to break through the surface of the mud tower.

And it was important to remember that both of them were Transcendents; their strength was in a completely different league from that of an ordinary person.

That thirty to forty percent of their power was likely much greater than the full strength of a physically fit, ordinary man.

An ordinary person probably couldn’t have broken through it even with their full strength.

It was hard to say whether the Fierce Poisonous Bees had found some special soil in the Primitive Jungle or if they secreted a substance while building their nest that made the earth so solid.

The two of them shoveled continuously, while the Tiger Striped Dog, relying on its hard bristles, also helped dig with its paws.

Seizing the moment when the Fierce Poisonous Bees on them turned to attack Chen Chong and Qi Zhen, Xu Jun and Jia Wen deactivated their abilities and rushed forward to help. But the instant a bee landed on them, they had to reactivate their powers and freeze, not daring to move until it left. Stuck in this loop, their progress was far slower than Chen Chong and Qi Zhen’s...

With nearly a third of the mud tower demolished, the Fierce Poisonous Bees went completely berserk. They swarmed out one after another and began to lay siege to the four of them.

Compared to the initial thirty or forty, the number of Fierce Poisonous Bees had now reached an absurd level. It was impossible to count them; all they could see was a swarming black cloud of at least several hundred!

They landed on the intruders, biting and driving their stingers in...

However, as one Fierce Poisonous Bee after another fell to the ground, it was clear their attacks were useless. Every single one was blocked.

At this point, more frustrating than the threat of their bites and stingers was the fact that their vision was completely obscured. All Chen Chong and the others could see was a blur of constantly flying Fierce Poisonous Bees, and all they could hear was the noise of their vibrating wings, making it almost impossible to see the hive.

Fortunately, Chen Chong had his Perception Ring, which allowed him to sense all life signatures within a ten-meter radius, so he wasn’t flying completely blind.

But the Tiger Striped Dog was starting to struggle.

Although it had a steel-bristle ability, the defense it provided wasn’t as strong as the abilities of Chen Chong, Xu Jun, and the others.
