Chapter 333: Chapter 189: Troublesome Bee Swarm! The Rock Armor Eagle’s Crucial Assist! Catching the Ferocious Poison Bee King

Facing a dozen or so Fierce Poisonous Bees was still manageable, but as their numbers swelled to over a hundred, they were forced to retreat. Otherwise, they would have been stung to death on the spot.

Xu Jun and Jia Wen weren’t faring any better.

The two were completely surrounded, forced to constantly use their abilities just to stay put.

If they dared to move even an inch, the Fierce Poisonous Bees swarming their bodies would instantly inject dozens of stingers. Even a Transcendent couldn’t withstand that...

Fortunately, the clever Xu Jun came up with a plan.

Although his turtle-shell defense forced him to lie prone and prevented him from using a shovel, the person he covered underneath was unaffected.

So, he kicked over the paralyzed Jia Wen and crawled on top of him...

And just like that, the two formed a combination technique.

One was responsible for maintaining the defense on top, while the other lay underneath, digging frantically.

And surprisingly, they were making good time...

Qi Zhen couldn’t see a thing, but his hands never slowed. He didn’t care what was in front of him; he just had to listen for Chen Chong’s command and keep digging.

And so, another ten minutes passed...

The four had completely demolished the entire mud tower, even digging a meter-deep crater into the ground and fully exposing the subterranean hive.

With nowhere left to hide, the entire swarm of Fierce Poisonous Bees poured out, surrounding the four so densely that nothing could get through.

Chen Chong had run into a problem of his own...

He’d excavated the hive, and he could pinpoint the Ferocious Poison Bee King’s location with his Perception Ring. He was even right on top of it, but...

He couldn’t catch the damn thing!

The Perception Ring was no substitute for the naked eye. While it could sense a lifeform’s location, it was just a blurry image. Trying to use it to accurately snatch a single target from a massive swarm of tiny, constantly moving creatures was damn near impossible!

Chen Chong frantically batted away the Fierce Poisonous Bees in front of him, but in the next instant, they swarmed back in like a tidal wave, completely obscuring his vision.

After several failed attempts, Chen Chong was growing furious. He was so frustrated that he felt the urge to just slam his fist down and wipe them all out.

’If this keeps up,’ he worried, ’forget my stamina running out from keeping this ability active. The Ferocious Poison Bee King will probably escape before I can even catch it.’

He never would have imagined that the hardest part of taming the Ferocious Poison Bee King wasn’t fending off the swarm’s attacks, but finding it only to be unable to catch it!

’The little bastards are so quick!’

Damn it all. Chen Chong was so pissed he could have coughed up blood.

Over a thousand meters away, Wang Biao, Zhang Meng, and Huang Mao watched the scene unfold, their expressions each more priceless than the last.

The distance was too great for them to make out the details, but the sight of that dense, black mass was utterly terrifying.

The mere sight of it was enough to make one’s skin crawl.

Just then, the Rock Armor Eagle, its head half-hidden inside the poncho, seemed to sense something.

With a powerful kick, it launched itself out from under Wang Biao’s poncho.

"Huh?"

Wang Biao, Zhang Meng, and Huang Mao stared in surprise, watching as it flew off in Chen Chong’s direction.

Just as Chen Chong, after failing to grab it time and time again, was growing ever more frustrated.

THUD!

The Rock Armor Eagle landed on the dilapidated remains of the mud tower.

Rain soaked its feathers, but it couldn’t conceal the terrifying presence of an Extraordinary raptor.

An eagle’s cry suddenly pierced the air.

As the Rock Armor Eagle opened its beak and swallowed two Fierce Poisonous Bees, the swarm descended into chaos as if it had met its natural predator. They stopped circling Chen Chong and the others, scattering in every direction.

However, they didn’t flee the area, but instead continued to buzz about nearby.

It was as if they were unwilling to abandon their king, yet too terrified of their predator’s presence to draw any closer.

The Ferocious Poison Bee King was no different...

Upon sensing the Rock Armor Eagle’s presence, it stopped hiding in the hive. It shot out of the ground, intending to make a swift escape.

But with his view now unobstructed, there was no way Chen Chong would let it get its wish.

Using his naked eye and the Perception Ring for a dual lock, he snatched it up the very instant it crawled from the dirt and began to beat its wings, trapping it securely in his large hand.

"Finally... got you!"
