THUD.

A Mecha landed.

Sheng Yue was cut off.

His expression turned cold and grim.

’Ji Shiyin! You’d better have a damn good reason for this!’

Zhang Qin and the others cautiously gathered around.

"What happened? Whose Mecha is this?"

Jian Yu’s fingers brushed against her wrist.

The red thread had been twitching frantically for the past two hours... and now, the person it was connected to had arrived.

’After accepting the sudden affections of one male lead after another, Jian Yu had a gut feeling that Ji Shiyin would, sooner or later, become another member of her harem.’

’She just didn’t know under what circumstances he would make his entrance this time.’

"Nnngh..."

A low growl came from inside the Mecha.

It sounded like the whimper of a small cub.

The Mecha’s cockpit door opened, and a fluffy, black-and-white head poked out.

It was the Little Flying Bear.

It seemed to have gotten a terrible fright, stumbling out and throwing itself at Jian Yu’s feet, hugging her calf tightly.

The Little Flying Bear lifted its chubby face. "Miss... save my master..."

Its voice was soft and urgent, laced with the sound of crying.

Sheng Yue’s brow furrowed tightly.

Yin Jiu urged anxiously, ’Master, let me out!’

Sheng Yue’s brow relaxed.

Yin Jiu appeared, leaping in front of the Little Flying Bear. "What is it? What happened to Shiyin?"

Before Jian Yu could react, another clingy creature attached itself to her other leg.

Yin Jiu and the Little Flying Bear were each hugging one of her legs.

A tall, slender figure stumbled out.

Zhang Qin and the others quickly called out, "Chief Ji."

Jian Yu caught a familiar yet nauseatingly sweet scent.

Sheng Yue froze for a second, then used Instant Teleportation to appear by his side.

Zhang Qin and his companions retracted their feet and the hands they had been about to extend to help.

Sheng Yue supported Ji Shiyin and asked in a cold voice, "What happened?"

Ji Shiyin shoved something into Sheng Yue’s hand and briefly summarized what had just occurred in a few sentences.

"I recorded the whole thing and sent it to the group chat. We don’t know how involved the Yan Family is yet, but Ayan and the others got the message and have gone to investigate."

Sheng Yue glanced at the medicine vial that had been thrust into his hand, his face darkening.

’Forbidden Medicine again.’

The matter with Yan Yu’s vial of Forbidden Medicine hadn’t even been cleared up, and now there was another.

Ji Shiyin let out a muffled groan.

His face was an unnatural, flushed red, and his forehead was covered in cold sweat.

His jacket was gone, his once-neat white shirt was a mess, and several of its top buttons had popped open.

Sheng Yue’s expression was grim. "You."

He wanted to ask why Ji Shiyin hadn’t gone to the Awakened Hospital, instead coming all the way out here.

But then he remembered that the Alliance had classified this substance as a Forbidden Medicine precisely because the medicine itself was designed to target High-level Awakened.

Only its creator possessed the antidote. A trip to the hospital would do little to alleviate the effects.

Last time, Yan Yu must have found someone to counteract the medicine’s effects. Sheng Yue recalled hearing that not long after that incident, Yan Yu had hastily married some woman.

Sheng Yue fell silent.

Jian Yu tried to walk over, but the two Little Soul Beasts blocked her path.

She bent down, her hand instinctively reaching for Yin Jiu.

The Little Flying Bear blinked its tear-filled eyes. "Miss, I feel so sick."

Jian Yu’s movement paused, and she picked up the Little Flying Bear first.

Yin Jiu froze. "..."

It lowered its head in disappointment.

Jian Yu sighed and picked them both up, one in each arm.

She walked up to Ji Shiyin, her gaze lowered, her eyes falling on the medicine vial in Sheng Yue’s hand.

"Let me try."

’Last time, I wasn’t affected by the medicine. Maybe this will work.’

"Yu." Ji Shiyin smiled when he saw Jian Yu.

His face was scarlet, and his eyes were practically overflowing with undisguised lust.

A large amount of pink mist surged toward him. Ji Shiyin struggled to stand straight, only to find his legs grow even weaker.

’Is this supposed to be helping?’

’Why does it feel even hotter than when I was drugged?’

"Yu... Yu," Ji Shiyin’s voice was hoarse and broken, with a trembling edge that made him sound utterly wronged.

Jian Yu paused, then switched to the Green Mist.

It was still useless.

Ji Shiyin’s eyes were hazy, his tone vague and suggestive. "I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have bothered you... I know we haven’t known each other long. It’s only right that you’d be unwilling."

His legs gave out, and he started to kneel.

Sheng Yue caught Ji Shiyin’s collapsing body.

Jian Yu was stunned.

’I knew this day would come eventually, but what’s with this fragile act he’s putting on, looking at me as if I’m some heartless player?’

The Little Flying Bear groggily recited its lines, "A bad woman wanted to eat my master, so master fought desperately to escape. Master wanted to see you, Miss."

It whined pitifully, "You saved my master last time, Miss. He hasn’t been able to stop thinking about you. I know my master has a crush on you, Miss, and he wants... but if you don’t like my master, that’s okay, too."

Its chubby body was getting hotter and hotter.

The searing heat traveled through its skin straight into Jian Yu’s palms.

Ji Shiyin looked up, his eyes brimming with tears. "Even though I truly like you, it feels fake to say I love you after just a few meetings. I only came here because I thought you might have a way to help. I didn’t know it would be like this. Just leave me be. I can’t put you in a difficult position, and I don’t want you to think I’m using you..."

As he spoke, he trembled violently from the effects of the medicine. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and a repressed groan escaped his throat.

"It’s okay..." Ji Shiyin bit his pale lip, the corners of his eyes turning red. "It doesn’t matter if I die here. As long as I could see you one more time... I have no regrets."

Jian Yu: "..."

Such terrible lines were completely unworthy of Ji Shiyin’s superb acting and his beautiful, fragile face.

Looking at this man, who was practically bubbling with "green tea" energy, Jian Yu felt she could almost understand the emperors of old.

He was too handsome, too beautiful, too weak. It made her desire to protect him swell to epic proportions.

It was impossible to refuse.

He was the one who had come for help, yet he was turning around to comfort her, worried about putting her in a tough spot.

Even so, Jian Yu understood.

Sheng Yue’s fingers clenched. He desperately wanted to throw Ji Shiyin out.

Zhang Qin and the others backed away, steering clear of the love triangle and moving three hundred meters away to stand watch.

’Just listen to this! Can you believe we get to hear all this for free?’

...

The Green Mist was completely depleted.

The pink mist, on the other hand, only intensified the medicine’s effects.

The Little Flying Bear whimpered and whined as it returned to Ji Shiyin’s body, giving Jian Yu a pitiful ’goodbye’ before it left.

Yin Jiu was both anxious and jealous.

It didn’t want anything to happen to its good friend, but it couldn’t help its envy.

’Out of sight, out of mind.’ It huffily retreated into Sheng Yue’s body.

At a stalemate, the rims of Ji Shiyin’s eyes grew even redder.

Jian Yu took a deep breath, the last bastion of reason in her mind completely crumbling.

She looked at Sheng Yue.

Sheng Yue said nothing. He silently let go, giving Ji Shiyin a little push.

Ji Shiyin’s entire body went limp, falling right into Jian Yu’s arms.

His scorching body temperature radiated through the thin fabric of their clothes, carrying a dizzying heat.

Jian Yu’s pupils constricted as she wrapped an arm around Ji Shiyin’s waist.

Her eyelashes fluttered, her gaze sweeping over Ji Shiyin’s exposed collarbone.

It was delicate and small, as demure and gentle as the dimples that appeared on his face when he pursed his lips.

Ji Shiyin looked up in a panic, the corners of his eyes flushed red.

He bit his lip. "If you’re not willing, you don’t have to force yourself..."

Jian Yu: "..."

’She was quite willing, actually.’

’The wild things she used to boast about before transmigrating into this book hadn’t been entirely lies.’

’There were seven male leads, and she already had five of them. What was one more?’

’This was all within her expectations; Jian Yu was already mentally prepared.’

"I’m not forcing myself."

Ji Shiyin obediently shrank his shoulders, a barely perceptible smile touching the corner of his lips before it was quickly lost in the roiling waves of passion.

Jian Yu looked down at him.

He was in agony, heartbreakingly pitiful and utterly deserving of compassion.

"Thank you, Miss..." Ji Shiyin murmured softly.

Jian Yu held his waist with one hand and pulled a tent out of her Space Ring.

’She’s this strong?’ Ji Shiyin glanced down and saw two colors of soul mist swirling around her waist.

The medicine’s effects peaked, and Ji Shiyin’s consciousness completely faded.

His body was pushed into the tent, his breathing growing more and more rapid.

Jian Yu leaned down and kissed his trembling lips.

Ji Shiyin wrapped his arms around Jian Yu’s waist in return, burying his face in the crook of her neck.
