Why Are the Psychos Obsessed with a Mere NPC?
Chapter 246 - 245: Quarrel
Sunlight scattered down, casting dappled shadows over Sheng Yue.
He lifted his eyelids. His cool blue eyes were hazy, holding a distance that pushed everyone away and made him seem serene yet somewhat desolate.
Reflected in those blue pupils was Jian Yu’s stiff expression.
Jian Yu blinked, her bright, clear black eyes darting back and forth.
For once, her chattering teammates were quiet.
Like a flock of quails, they all peeked up at Jian Yu before quickly lowering their heads again.
Only Teacher Hu was still smiling, showing no unusual reaction.
Jian Yu’s gaze swept back and forth across Sheng Yue’s handsome, aloof face.
His deep, inscrutable blue eyes, his straight nose, and those thin, pale pink lips that were always pressed together, exuding a certain coldness.
’He looks so wronged right now.’
’But he was so decisive when he pushed Ji Shiyin onto me.’
Jian Yu stared intently at Sheng Yue, finding him a little hard to understand.
She pressed her lips together, her long, curled lashes trembling.
The intensity of her gaze was almost tangible.
"What’s wrong, Sister?" Ji Shiyin’s voice pulled Jian Yu’s attention back.
His voice was clear and pleasant, with an almost imperceptible hint of gentleness.
"It’s nothing." Jian Yu looked down, awkwardly picking at her fingers, the tips of her ears turning slightly red.
Her feet felt soft as she stepped on the ground. Her head still fuzzy, Jian Yu let Ji Shiyin help her forward.
The two of them sat down, and everyone stared at each other in awkward silence.
Even someone as unobservant as Zhang Qin could tell the atmosphere was off.
The Soul Beast Cover had muffled any sounds for him, but Sheng Yue must have heard everything last night.
Not to mention, before bed, Wang Hu had been rambling on and on about all the gossip and rumors from the academy about Jian Yu.
Steeling himself, Zhang Qin started distributing the food. "Let’s eat first."
It was roasted meat again.
And it was Lulu Meat again.
Jian Yu habitually took out the pre-packaged meals and porridge from her Space Ring.
She handed one of the containers to Ji Shiyin.
Ji Shiyin gave a shy smile, the two small dimples by his lips making him look sweet and soft. "Thank you, Sister."
Sheng Yue’s eyes darkened. His chest felt as if it had been pricked by something, a dull and painful ache spreading through him.
He had been cold and detached since childhood, and his emotions rarely fluctuated as intensely as they were now.
His self-restraint had become a joke.
Jian Yu placed the remaining meal containers to the side for everyone to choose from.
Lu Yi let out a loud cry, trying to break the awkwardness. "Thanks, Junior! After eating meat all day yesterday, I’m dying for some porridge."
This only made it more awkward.
Why had they been eating roasted meat all day?
Because Jian Yu and Ji Shiyin had stayed in the tent for over ten hours, not even coming out for dinner last night.
Lu Qi paused his movements and ducked his head lower.
Zhao Jiangyou followed his example, turning to the side and focusing on shoveling food into his mouth.
Wang Hu stuffed his mouth full of meat. He looked up, his big eyes clear and clueless. "What’s up?"
Zhang Qin piled more meat onto his plate—two eyes and a large piece of heart. "Just eat. Nothing’s up. Maybe this will give you a bit more sense."
’My brother is great in every way, except he loses his brain whenever he eats.’
Lu Yi, completely unfazed, distributed the meal boxes. "Jiang Fei, Ziyue, Ziwen..."
Jian Yu was more sensitive and read more into it.
A light blush soon spread across her cheeks, even tinting the corners of her eyes a faint peach-blossom pink.
They had gone at it for a long time last night, but with her strong Healing Ability, she recovered quickly and hadn’t suffered at all. In fact, she had even enjoyed it a little.
If anyone had been worn out, it was probably her who had worn out Ji Shiyin.
He was also eighteen, only a few months older than Pei Yin.
He looked slender-shouldered, like a delicate man in need of protection, but once his clothes were off, she discovered just how perfect his proportions were.
Tall with long legs, a straight shoulder line, and a handsome face. When he looked at her with tears in his eyes, his gaze was wet and glistening, filled with a heart-wrenching vulnerability.
Jian Yu remembered gripping his wrist or pressing down on his thigh. Just a light rub, a little more force, and she could leave red finger marks on his fair skin.
’I feel like such a pervert.’
Jian Yu quietly swallowed.
She glanced at the obediently eating Ji Shiyin out of the corner of her eye, then turned her head to look openly at Sheng Yue.
Sheng Yue’s eyes trembled, and he averted his gaze.
He rose abruptly. "Shi Yan, come over when you’re done eating. I need to ask you something."
The man’s aura was distant and cold, steeped in an inhuman indifference.
Ji Shiyin smiled. "Okay, Brother Yue."
Ji Shiyin followed after only a couple more bites.
As the two of them left, Zhang Qin and the others visibly relaxed.
Teacher Hu subconsciously looked toward Jian Yu.
The young Leader was pressing her lips together, her chopsticks mutilating a piece of meat on her plate.
Her small face was fair, the corners of her eyes touched with a rouge-like red. Dressed in a pale green-blue dress, she looked like an upright stalk of young bamboo—refreshing and pleasant.
Appeasing one’s harem was a fundamental principle for the Primordial Beast Clan People.
Even though Teacher Hu was disguised as a man, she couldn’t change her sexual orientation.
At school, she was an ordinary teacher. Outside of school, she was an elusive Divine Level Healer who avoided people.
A Healer who was well-established and had five male spouses.
She loved every single one of them, and she had legally registered her partnership with each one through official channels.
Teacher Hu felt she understood Jian Yu’s awkwardness very well.
She had gone through the same thing back in the day.
Teacher Hu decided to lend a hand.
But before she could speak, Jian Yu had already gotten up and followed them.
Jian Yu had excellent hearing. The reason she went over was because she heard Ji Shiyin say, "To be precise, Yan Li’s targets are Xi Yu and Ling Yanzhi."
Jian Yu wasn’t sure if she was supposed to have heard that or not.
She looked at the Soul Beast Cover in front of her, reached out, and shattered the barrier.
She couldn’t help but ask, "What happened?"
The Soul Beast Cover broke, and Ji Shiyin froze for a moment.
This meant Jian Yu’s power was likely greater than his.
Ji Shiyin wasn’t someone who was only attracted to power, but he still felt inexplicably happy. "Sister."
Sheng Yue didn’t take his eyes off him. "Continue."
Ji Shiyin’s smile faded.
Jian Yu listened quietly as he recounted the events once more.
Ji Shiyin said doubtfully, "The Emperor Wolf Star Military District might be trying to become independent."
Sheng Yue’s brow furrowed. "Emperor Wolf Star is still under the Alliance’s jurisdiction."
Ji Shiyin was silent for a moment. "But they’ve stopped listening."
Sheng Yue’s features were cold, his pupils a dark blue. His gaze fell on Ji Shiyin, devoid of any warmth.
His voice was indifferent, as if he were holding back his anger. "You didn’t follow orders either."
Ji Shiyin was taken aback.
He rarely saw Sheng Yue get angry, especially for a reason like this.
According to the Alliance’s orders, he indeed shouldn’t be at the Ultimate Eye right now.
Ji Shiyin said helplessly, "I had no choice."
The Little Flying Bear flew out anxiously, its linguistic abilities somewhat limited:
"Master didn’t get drugged on purpose! My master is only eighteen, and he’s still a virgin! Was he supposed to just find some random woman? That would be irresponsible to the woman and unfair to Master!"
It threw itself into Jian Yu’s arms, whimpering, "Master’s mecha was broken, and Emperor Wolf Star is so far away! If Master hadn’t wanted to give Sister a mecha, he wouldn’t have had a new one to fly here to find you, and he might have died from the frenzy!"
Yin Jiu, his defenses completely shattered, leaped out of Sheng Yue’s body. "Then does my master deserve to be abandoned? The moment you showed up, I fell out of favor! You even took over my bed! My master didn’t sleep all night! WAHHH, I feel so bad for myself, and I feel so bad for my master!"
It ran over—PATTER PATTER PATTER—and tugged on the hem of Jian Yu’s dress, its round face tilted up, physiological tears welling in the corners of its eyes.
"Babe, can it be my master’s turn tonight? My master is very clean! Yanyan is a virgin, and my master is a virgin too!"
Sheng Yue was mortified and annoyed, his lips pressed tightly together.
Jian Yu instinctively hugged the Little Flying Bear tighter, her eyes filled with helplessness.
’Ah, this...’
’Oh, well.’
’I guess I’m just lucky.’
