Why is This Troublemaker So Damn Rich?
Chapter 335 - 224: At Long Last (Part 2)
"Boss, streaming for four hours every day is a lot of work. Will the company provide any extra compensation?"
Yang Wei was immediately displeased. "Xiaojie, you need to think bigger. Just deliver results first. You think the company won’t reward you then? Besides, the sales from this stream count toward the store’s total, so you’ll get a commission."
’There’s a commission!’ Ji Kun was overjoyed. ’A 5% commission wouldn’t be bad at all. And if the mall provides subsidy coupons, sales could be much higher than offline. With that kind of income, who cares about the hard work?’
"Boss, will the mall’s marketing promotions and consumer subsidy coupons be available every day?"
"What do you mean? You’re the one doing the stream. Why would the mall give you marketing promotions and subsidy coupons? If you want them, go talk to the mall yourself. Where is the company supposed to get them for you?"
’Holy crap.’ Ji Kun’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Boss, are you saying we get nothing? We just create an account, stream from the store for four hours a day, and have to hit a daily sales target of at least 5,000 yuan?"
Yang Wei grunted in affirmation and picked up a piece of pork rib, putting it in his mouth.
"Then I’m not doing it. Whoever wants to can do it. If we had that kind of ability, would we still be working this job? Wouldn’t it be better for me to just go home and become a live-streamer myself?"
’And here I thought it would be like that event Yang Hui organized.’ He had been excited for nothing. ’What the hell is this thing Yang Wei cooked up? Does he even understand the situation himself?’
Yang Wei was in the middle of gnawing on a pork rib. Hearing this, he looked up, his lips stained with bits of meat, which disgusted Ji Kun. He then said, displeased, "Xiaojie, what kind of attitude is that? I’m giving you this opportunity because I admire your potential. Just think, if you do this well, you’ll immediately become a model for the entire company to learn from. Won’t a promotion and a raise be right around the corner?"
’This idiot probably doesn’t understand Futong Commerce.’ Ji Kun sneered inwardly but didn’t respond. ’The ones who dare to try new things are always the first to fail. Who could possibly meet the target the company set? This Yang Wei was probably bamboozled by the company himself.’
No matter what Yang Wei said, Ji Kun adamantly refused. This finally pissed Yang Wei off. "Xiaojie, I’ve given you the opportunity. Don’t you regret it. I’ll just have to give this prime resource to one of your colleagues."
There is no greater sorrow than a withered heart. Ji Kun was now completely disillusioned with Yang Wei, and even felt a deep sense of dread for the team’s future. ’With such a bizarre leader, how are we supposed to get by?’
When it was time to pay, the bill came to 250 yuan. Ji Kun found this truly ironic. ’How could I have believed him? Even the meal costs 250.’ He felt like heaven itself was mocking him for being an idiot.
At Xinyue Group’s First War Zone, Zhang Chun received Zong Lan in his office. This beautiful young madam, a Regional General Manager parachuted in by the family, was shrouded in mystery. Faced with the unknown, Zhang Chun maintained a certain distance. He made a show of concern with a few pleasantries and informed her that President Tian’s team in the region would fully cooperate with the work handover.
Although Zong Lan had never worked in commercial real estate, as a member of the Young Miss’s secretarial team, she had to have some understanding of all the Zong Family’s various businesses. Moreover, her perspective was far more elevated than that of these subsidiary regional heads. Taking on the role of Regional General Manager was naturally no sweat for her. Besides, her other identity remained: she was still concurrently the Young Miss’s secretary, which made it easy to mobilize the various resources controlled by the clan. If she couldn’t even do this job well, she might as well just slit her own throat.
Zhang Chun hadn’t expected that Zong Lan, despite being at the clan headquarters, was so clear on recent events in the region. It seemed she had carefully studied the materials. She even knew about the anonymous complaint regarding the business terms between the region and Yanghe Commerce, and she even asked if the whistleblower had been found. Zhang Chun felt she was even angrier about it than Old Tian had been. ’She must truly be the Young Miss’s trusted confidante,’ he thought.
’My own understanding of the relationship between Yang Hui and the Young Miss is only partial.’ Most of what he knew was what the Chairman had told him in order for him to properly manage his own relationship with Yang Hui. The last time the Young Miss visited, he didn’t even have the standing to approach and speak with her. Compared to this Zong Lan, his status within the Zong Clan was far inferior.
’Alas, I am ultimately an outsider.’ This woman, on the other hand, was likely someone deeply tied to the family’s interests—or rather, deeply tied to the Young Miss herself. Zhang Chun knew a thing or two about the family’s internal strife. The power struggles within a great clan were no less dramatic than those in a palace intrigue drama. Back then, no one had expected that the Young Miss would be the one to make the superior move. Even her uncles were no match for her, which just showed how formidable her methods were.
In fact, people like Zhang Chun were all beneficiaries of this struggle. His choice of faction had been a good one; he had followed the Chairman in publicly cheering on the Young Miss. At the time, the Chairman wasn’t yet the Chairman, but merely the COO of Xinyue Group Headquarters. He was only appointed Chairman of Xinyue Group after the Young Miss took power, a veritable leap to the heavens.
He was thankful that he had stood firmly on the Young Miss’s side all these years. Otherwise, he would probably be retired by now.
It all felt like it had happened just yesterday. After the Young Miss took control of the Zong Family, the business entered an unprecedented period of prosperity. He’d heard that some of the bigwigs who had once fought her for power were now completely convinced of her abilities and had gone to pledge their loyalty. The few who put up a futile resistance had all been marginalized and could no longer stir up any trouble. Consequently, after the Young Miss replaced the leadership of all the major subsidiaries with her own people, nearly a year of purges had eliminated all the dissenters.
