As soon as Valery spoke, everyone around was amazed.

Hua Yun looked at Valery with heightened caution, thinking, well, this chairman wasn’t so obvious before, but now he’s openly trying to poach a key member of the Hua Country Survival Association!

No, Chen Wen is more than just a key member; he’s essentially a foundation block of the association!

Valery didn’t care about the others’ reactions, or rather, he didn’t care about anyone else at all.

He smiled and said, "The environment here was meticulously crafted by me, the previous chairman, and all the vice-chairpersons and staff. You could say, this place is a paradise for survival enthusiasts. What do you think?"

Not much wrong with that statement.

Chen Wen chuckled and nodded in agreement.

"So come join our association."

Valery continued, "We don’t have many rules here. We won’t talk about the treatment for vice-chairpersons—besides a salary, you can enjoy everything here for free. The cafeteria will customize a chairman’s meal at no charge, you’ll have professional trainers lead weekly fitness sessions, and we’ll periodically invite top-level survivors to teach survival skills..."

Valery listed many benefits and finally said, "And if you join, you’ll be an honorary vice-chairperson, with no work obligations, only to enjoy these perks. Of course, if you wish to work or manage, I can also grant you real authority as a vice-chairperson."

Hearing this, Fred was envious beyond measure.

He knows best about the association’s situation here—as a member, he has to pay for everything.

Every meal costs, training costs, everything Valery mentioned requires payment.

And the prices aren’t cheap.

Before attending the Eight Extremes Challenge, Fred could only afford to spend a week at a time each month here, even with the member discount.

But despite the temptation, Chen Wen simply said, "Thanks for the kind offer, Valery, but I’ll pass. I’ve always been a member of the Hua Country Survival Association. Let’s issue the badges first; everyone is waiting."

Hearing this, Valery wasn’t disappointed but said, "Alright, let’s issue the badges then."

Valery issued the badges to everyone.

The badge for the Forest Extreme Challenge is also shield-shaped, featuring a golden star.

The theme of the badge is a bear’s head, looking particularly fierce, and beside the bear’s head are green patterns representing the Taiga Forest’s pine trees.

The background is pure white, symbolizing the snowy landscape of the Forest Extreme Challenge.

Overall, it’s quite a good-looking badge.

(Bean Bun ran, it looks alright, doesn’t it?)

Chen Wen put away the badge, silently giving himself a thumbs up in his mind.

Eight badges in total, he’s already collected three.

Looking at the entire association, he has the most badges among the young members.

After putting away the badge, Valery said, "As for the earnings from this challenge, please wait for notifications. This time, I’m here to ask for your bank account numbers. Any internationally accepted bank will do; we’ll deposit the earnings to your accounts."

"Furthermore, we’ll provide an income breakdown for the challenge within about seven workdays. If anyone has questions, you can visit the association for inquiries. For the next seven days, enjoy Russia’s cultural offerings to your heart’s content. Accommodation will be at the previous hotel; breakfast and dinner are provided daily and are free."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

They’re quite pleased with the hospitality of the Russian Association.

After saying this, Valery turned to Chen Wen once more, "Think about my proposal again; if you change your mind, feel free to look for me. And don’t worry about Liu Yu not letting you go; he still owes me a favor."

Chen Wen, hearing this, helplessly thanked him and declined again.

After leaving the room, Hua Yun curiously asked Chen Wen, "Why didn’t you agree? I feel Valery’s offer was quite sincere—for a foreigner to be given the position of vice-chairperson directly."

Chen Wen grinned, "Well, are you trying to get me to leave our association, to sideline Mr. Liu or what?"

Hua Yun rolled her eyes.

Still, she was curious why Valery admired Chen Wen so much, as the two hadn’t really met before.

But on second thought, given Chen Wen’s caliber, it’s not surprising that Valery sees potential in him.

After leaving the Survival Association’s office, the two decided to wander around and explore Russia’s culture.

...

Three days later.

After three days in Russia, Chen Wen woke up in the hotel, continued researching information on the Heat Extreme Challenge, and practiced the planned study of Arabic-Berber dialects.

"Damn it, this Arabic language is really tough to learn!"

Chen Wen repeatedly practiced some simple everyday phrases and finally, feeling defeated, tossed the practice notebook aside.

In terms of language talent, Chen Wen is quite average.

He learned English only through forced education.

Additionally, after participating in various international challenges, communication had to be in English, which gradually led him to become proficient.

Now learning a new language, one unrelated to both English and Chinese systems, is overwhelming for Chen Wen.

Yet, for survival, it has to be learned.

He picked up the practice notebook he had thrown aside and continued studying with a frown.

Just then, his phone rang.

Chen Wen quickly picked it up and saw it was Adam calling.

After answering, Adam’s voice came through the line, "Hey, what are you up to?"

"Studying, learning Arabic."

Chen Wen’s voice revealed his utter despair.

Adam chuckled and then said, "Then forget it; we were planning to go play with guns today. Considering your country’s unique circumstances, I thought you’d be interested, but since you’re studying, then..."

"Wait!"

Chen Wen decisively interrupted Adam and immediately said excitedly, "Where are you guys? I’ll come find you now."

Adam paused, "You’re not going to study?"

This situation is quite rare; this survivor, typically at an academic level, unexpectedly chose not to study.

"Study?"

Chen Wen impersonated Li Yunlong, "Forget about studying! He-he-he, guns are fascinating, and I’m not just playing around."

Then Chen Wen found an excuse for himself, "This time, where I’m going to survive, there are guerrilla troops there, and they have guns. Maybe there’ll be abandoned firearms in the wilderness post-conflict. If I learn about guns, it might come in handy!"

This left Adam speechless.

He thought for a moment and said, "Then come downstairs at your hotel; Fred and I will pick you up shortly."

"Great!"

Chen Wen leaped up energetically and casually tidied up, planning to head downstairs.

However, just before leaving, Chen Wen thought for a moment and decided to bring the booklet containing Arabic with him.

"Yes, I can use it to study now and then between playing with guns for better results."
