Chapter 1461: Chapter 1461: Don’t Hide Things from Me
He paused for a few seconds, slowly raised his head, and cleared his throat lightly, with an expression that seemed a bit uncomfortable: "For now, avoid marital relations, and of course, aside from that, avoid any overly intense physical activities. His... emotional fluctuations shouldn’t be too drastic."
Scarlett Yates was taken aback, her face warmed, blushing lightly, and she awkwardly coughed: "Um, I... I’ll be careful."
Marital relations?
Who would believe it if she told them, she and Matthew Saxon haven’t actually done that yet.
When everything was normal, they managed to hold back; now it’s certainly not a problem.
--
Matthew Saxon is still completely unaware of his own health condition.
On this matter, both Hayes Simmons and Scarlett Yates were in agreement; they both felt it was wise to wait until the second check-up before deciding whether to tell him about it.
Yet Matthew still keenly sensed that something was awry.
Since leaving the hospital, Scarlett Yates’s attitude towards him had noticeably improved.
Especially when she just seriously said to him that if he felt uncomfortable anywhere, he must let her know immediately.
After getting in the car, Matthew Saxon did not start driving right away; he rested one arm on the steering wheel and held the medicine prescribed at the hospital in the other, glancing at it for a while. He then raised his head and looked at Scarlett Yates: "Scarlett, are you hiding something from me?"
"What could I possibly be hiding from you?" Scarlett Yates responded calmly, raising an eyebrow.
Matthew Saxon didn’t say anything, instead he picked up the box of medicine again, turned it over, and examined the text on the back, reading each word aloud: "Specially treats dizziness and weakness, sudden heart palpitations, cold sweats, and cold limbs."
Scarlett Yates didn’t understand what he meant, couldn’t fathom his thoughts, so she chose to remain silent and wait to see what develops.
After reading, Matthew Saxon grinned slightly and looked at her: "The symptoms mentioned here are quite similar to what I experienced today."
"If it weren’t similar, why would I buy these medicines for you?"
"I haven’t finished yet. I said they are quite similar, but similarity doesn’t mean that’s the disease I have." He slowly returned the medicine box to its place, paused, and said, "What did Hayes Simmons tell you in his office? Did I really get some strange kind of disease? My tolerances aren’t that weak; don’t keep anything from me."
Scarlett Yates felt a shock in her heart.
Lying to Matthew Saxon is truly difficult; concealing anything from him is almost impossible.
She thought she had hidden it well enough but was still suspected.
Of course, Scarlett Yates wouldn’t admit anything: "Are you overthinking? My visit to Hayes Simmons’s office has nothing to do with you."
Matthew Saxon didn’t believe: "Scarlett, do you think I’m so easily fooled?"
Before and after the hospital check-up, while Scarlett Yates’s attitude towards him hadn’t drastically changed, indeed, it was different.
Her shift was subtle yet cautious.
Even if she exhibited the slightest change in her gestures or words, he was sensitive enough to pick up on it.
She clearly was hiding something from him, and this matter certainly had a significant link to his recent examination; he wasn’t guessing wrong.
Scarlett Yates glared at him, her eyes flickering with annoyance, and she retorted: "Why would I lie to you? Do you think I’d say you were sick if you weren’t? I went to Hayes Simmons’s office to discuss Stella’s issues; why are you insisting on dragging yourself into it?"
