Chapter 1462: Chapter 1462: Alice Is Also a Pitiful Woman

"Stella?" Matthew Saxon was stunned for a moment, a trace of confusion appearing in his eyes.

Scarlett Yates got angry seeing his expression. Great, he not only forgot about her completely, but he also doesn’t remember her good friend.

"Stella is my friend; she’s had a relationship with Hayes Simmons. You know he already has a fiancée and will soon marry Miss Hughes, but he hasn’t completely broken things off with Stella yet. I went to him because of this matter."

"Did I know your friend before too?" The name sounds somewhat familiar, but he can’t recall.

Scarlett snorted coldly, glaring at him in annoyance: "Definitely, you’ve even had dinner together."

"But, I can’t remember."

"Yes, you don’t remember me, nor do you remember my friends, anyone closely related to me, you don’t remember them, but you remember Alice Green very thoroughly." Scarlett was genuinely upset, fuming mad, the more she talked, the more she felt Matthew Saxon was extremely infuriating.

After her sarcastic comments, Matthew pushed aside his doubts about the test results. Thinking of Alice Green, his feelings became very conflicted.

Thinking of Alice Green still being missing, his mood inevitably became heavy: "Scarlett, I know Alice has done many things that are unjust to you, but given her current state, there’s really no need to mind her anymore."

His memories of Alice Green stayed before meeting Scarlett Yates, so upon hearing Scarlett’s words, he couldn’t help but defend Alice Green.

"Alice is a very pitiful woman; perhaps she might no longer be alive. When a person dies, it’s like a light going out; regardless of the grievances between you, they should be let go."

"Let go?" Scarlett flared up immediately, her eyebrows furrowing, her expression darkening, about to lash out at him. Suddenly, she remembered Hayes Simmons’ advice, which calmed her, though her anger surged to the top of her head.

She mustn’t lose her temper... nor argue with him.

Hayes Simmons had mentioned that his emotions shouldn’t be too intensely shifted.

But still, she felt he was extremely hateful, keeping the fury bottled up inside felt suffocating.

She suppressed her anger, took several deep breaths to calm herself: "Matthew Saxon, let me ask you, do you remember what she’s done to you?"

"Did she collude with Maxwell Saxon to poison Uncle Saxon? Do you remember this incident?"

Matthew furrowed his brows slightly: "You told me about this."

Scarlett took another deep breath, forcefully suppressing the restless anger, trying to speak in a peaceful tone: "I did tell you, but what I’m asking now is if you remember it yourself?"

Matthew shook his head.

Scarlett truly wanted to raise her voice to his ear, questioning why he not only hadn’t forgotten Alice Green but also forgot the worst parts about her.

The more she thought, the more aggrieved and unfair she felt.

"And you say you were not good to her?" She bit her lip tightly, her eyes full of resentment, both angry and wronged, "She did such an excessive thing, yet you don’t remember it, and now you’re speaking for her."

"I..."

"Alright, don’t say anything more, if you don’t remember these things, so be it, but I forbid you to speak for her again."

Matthew still wanted to say something more about Alice Green, but seeing Scarlett’s displeased expression, clearly written with unhappiness, he dismissed the thought.

However, he couldn’t help but wonder, is Alice Green alive or dead?
