Chapter 1482: Chapter 1482: Is There Anyone Who Isn’t Afraid of the Saxon Family?
What man can endure being cursed like this?
Thinking about this, she nervously looked at him and whispered, "Don’t pay attention to him, let’s hurry. Knox is still waiting for us."
But the burly man wasn’t willing to let it go, seeing Matthew’s lack of reaction, his anger grew and he slammed his hand on the car window a few times: "Hey, pretty boy inside, are you deaf or just too scared to talk to me? I can’t stand such cowardly men; even the chick next to you has more guts. Aren’t you ashamed?"
"If you’re a real man, stop hiding behind the woman, come out and talk to me. Do you dare?"
Scarlett feared this kind of provocation the most.
The next second, she saw Matthew lift his head and smile. Being cursed all this time, his face still held a smile, as if his mood wasn’t affected at all, and he nodded to the man: "Alright, let’s talk outside."
"Matthew, you promised me..." Scarlett furrowed her brows tightly.
He gently patted her hand: "Don’t worry, it’ll be fine."
After saying this, he unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the car door, and stepped out.
Scarlett, worried about him, also unbuckled her seatbelt and followed him out.
After getting off, Matthew and the man started talking. In just half a minute, whatever was said changed the man’s expression slightly. A moment ago, he was aggressive, but suddenly he deflated like a balloon, nodding and bowing, his attitude abruptly turning respectful.
Scarlett had thought they might fight and was prepared to jump in and stop them if they truly intended to throw punches.
But she hadn’t expected this outcome.
Matthew resolved the issue in just half a minute.
The burly man, after nodding and bowing to Matthew, turned and left.
Scarlett was dumbfounded: "What did you say to him?"
Matthew turned around, walking slowly towards her, and replied with a smile: "Nothing much, he just asked me to introduce myself. I told him the truth, and he apologized to me."
Scarlett was silent for a moment, then sighed and said quietly: "In Z City, is there anyone who’s not afraid of your Saxon Family?"
Matthew actually pondered seriously, then stared straight at her.
"Why are you looking at me?" Scarlett felt a bit uneasy under his gaze.
Matthew walked to her, ruffled her hair, and escorted her into the car: "You just asked me if there’s anyone not afraid of the Saxon Family, aren’t you one of them?"
As they got into the car, Matthew vaguely felt as if someone was watching him.
The gaze seemed to come from a very concealed place, hidden, as he suddenly turned his head to look, he saw nothing but the vast flow of cars.
On both sides of the street, there were only pedestrians rushing by.
Past six in the evening marked the rush hour of people heading home eagerly.
As he turned his head, that hidden gaze also vanished.
Consequently, Matthew was more convinced he might be being followed; perhaps by someone hiding in a car behind.
"What are you looking at?" Scarlett asked upon getting in the car, fastening her seatbelt, noticing Matthew’s hand still rested on the door, with his head turned back, his brows furrowed, seemingly looking at something.
