Chapter 1547: Chapter 1547: I Dream of You Every Day
Scarlett Yates was taken aback, a chill rising up her back, and she neurotically turned her head to look around.
All around were either endless streams of vehicles or hurried pedestrians.
She looked for a long while but couldn’t find anyone, so she turned her head back: "Maxwell Saxon, are you stalking me?"
"No." His reply was quick.
She felt he was lying.
She hadn’t managed to find where he was hiding, but her intuition couldn’t be wrong.
"Do you have anything else to say? Speak quickly, if you have to fart, fart quickly, or I’ll hang up." Now in front of him, she was as vulgar as she could be.
She knew Maxwell Saxon didn’t like vulgar women.
He himself was someone with very high standards for himself, always very picky. You could tell just from his bachelor apartment before, it’s rare for a man’s room to be that clean and tidy.
Moreover, the room’s decor seemed simple and inconspicuous, but in fact, any item picked out was quite exquisite. For someone who was so particular about living essentials, his requirements for a lifelong partner must be even higher.
If it weren’t because of those memories from childhood, would Maxwell Saxon have liked her?
If they didn’t have that past experience, if she and Maxwell Saxon had just met now, it’s impossible for him to like a girl like her.
From start to finish, what he’s been fond of, is merely those beautiful memories.
What she needed to do now, was to continuously erase the goodwill he had accumulated for the "her" from childhood.
Maxwell Saxon was silent.
After a while, she heard him say in a displeased tone: "Scarlett, you’re using foul language again."
His displeasure made Scarlett Yates all the more delighted.
She curled her lips into a smile, and said indifferently: "Oh, that’s just how I am. If Young Master Saxon can’t stand it, there’s nothing I can do. How is ’fart’ a bad word? Do you mean you never fart yourself?"
"Scarlett." The displeasure in his tone deepened.
"I’m not some kind of elegant lady. If Young Master Saxon is looking for an elegant and noble rich lady, then you’ve got the wrong person."
Another silence ensued, then Maxwell Saxon unexpectedly laughed. After a pause of a few seconds, he laughed and said: "Scarlett, do you think using this method will make me give up on you? If I could give up on you so easily, I wouldn’t have remembered you for more than twenty years. I’ve said it before, in this life, you and I are destined to be entangled together endlessly. No matter how you change, I will not let go of you."
A chill seeped out from the depths of her heart.
Scarlett Yates’ face turned unsightly, she pressed her lips tightly together and took a few deep breaths: "Maxwell Saxon, do you think such behavior makes you appear affectionate? No, you’re just a pervert, your mind is already abnormal. I seriously suggest you go see a psychologist quickly, being a pervert is a kind of illness too."
"How do you know I haven’t sought out a psychologist?" he surprisingly didn’t get angry, and instead calmly discussed with her, "I have of course talked to a psychologist and taken some of their advice, trying to gradually forget those memories, but it hasn’t worked."
The last few words he said with a self-mocking tone.
"I’ve found that the more I deliberately try to forget, the more vividly and deeply I remember."
"During that period, I dreamt of you every day."
