It didn’t take long for the female elder to finish passing on her knowledge to Xiao Mu.
But in the first place, the female elder was only passing on basic knowledge to Xiao Mu, so it wasn’t as if this was anything complicated.
Xiao Mu had already said that it only wanted to learn the basics since it wanted to build on this knowledge on its own. Which was why the female elder was able to pass on the knowledge so quickly.
However, that wasn’t the only reason that the female elder was able to pass on the knowledge that easily.
The other part was because of how excellent Xiao Mu was.

"Then if you add in this..."
"Also, there’s this thing..."
As Xiao Mu absorbed the knowledge, it was adding in its own observations between the things that the female elder taught it. These were observations that struck at the very essence of what the female elder was teaching it, so there really wasn’t anything that the female elder could say.
The only thing that the female elder did was look at Xiao Mu with a look of pride.
Though when it did this, Ye Qing Huan would step forward to block her view of Xiao Mu.
The way that the female elder looked at Xiao Mu was almost like how a mother would look at a child that they were proud of. If the female elder was going to treat Xiao Mu like this, Ye Qing Huan would naturally have something to say about it.
Xiao Mu just didn’t seem to care about the way that they were acting, the only thing that it cared about was what it was learning.
Once it was done processing everything, it turned to the female elder and asked, "Is there a place where I can test this?"
The female elder wasn’t surprised to hear this and just went to the side.
With a wave of her hand, there was this station that appeared that already had a full set of basic ingredients stocked.
Xiao Mu didn’t waste any time in moving forward to start grabbing things from the stock of ingredients and tossing it into the pot in front of it. It seemed like the only thing that Xiao Mu had its attention on was what it was working on.
It really seemed like Xiao Mu just completely forgot about the world around it.
However, what it was working on was creating poison...
It really was strange seeing Xiao Mu act this way, especially since it had a cloak on that was hiding its true appearance.
For Lin Fan, there was an even further implication than this.
The way that Xiao Mu acted made him think of witches in his past life who worked on potions like this. They brewed potions in cauldrons while stirring the mixture inside, just like what Xiao Mu was currently doing.
It really felt like they were planning to do some kind of evil thing.
But Lin Fan wasn’t wrong about this in the end.
"Can you help me test it?"
When Xiao Mu asked this, there was a bitter smile that appeared on Lin Fan’s face.
It was hard for him to not have this kind of reaction when Xiao Mu was basically asking him to drink poison.
But with the way that Xiao Mu looked at him...or it was better to say that with the way that Ye Qing Huan looked at him...
In the end, Lin Fan had no choice but to drink it.
The moment that he drank the first poison that he was offered, he could already feel the effects of it going through his body. However, this wasn’t the kind of effect that he had expected to feel.
The corners of his lips couldn’t help curling before he let out a laugh.
Once that first laugh escaped from his lips, he wasn’t able to stop the rest of the laughter from coming out. It really felt like there was something that was deep inside of him that was forcing all of this laughter out and he wasn’t able to resist at all.
But eventually, Lin Fan was able to slowly suppress it.
It certainly wasn’t the effect that he had been expecting from the poison that Xiao Mu handed him, but it was the effect that he couldn’t resist.
"Here’s the antidote." Xiao Mu said only after he had finished suppressing the poison.
Lin Fan had already suppressed it at this point, so it wasn’t as if having the antidote would do anything for him. But to be sure, he did use his Appraisal Eyes to make sure that it was indeed the antidote.
After taking the antidote, Lin Fan let out a sigh of relief as the feeling that came from deep inside of him disappeared.
Only that relief didn’t last long.
"Come, there’s more here for you to test."
Xiao Mu was gesturing to the other poisons that it had created and placed on the table to the side. The look in Xiao Mu’s eyes as it gave this gesture made it clear what it was thinking.
Lin Fan could only reveal a bitter smile, but he was also more cautious this time as he used his Appraisal Eyes.
When he did this, he realized that what Xiao Mu made previously wasn’t an accident. It seemed like Xiao Mu had gotten a strange epiphany when it came to learning about how to make poison.
Xiao Mu didn’t make poison that normal people made that would just kill its enemies.
Instead, it could even be said that the poisons that it made were specifically for torturing its enemies. After all, the effects that the poison had was anything but ordinary.
"One that makes you cry, one that makes you throw up, one that makes you lose your balance...Where did this kid come up with all of these strange ideas?" Lin Fan’s smile turned even more bitter as he observed all of the poisons in front of him.
But then he suddenly thought of something.
The way that Xiao Mu had acted when it moved through all those rooms, it was clear that there was something that Xiao Mu had been chasing with the poison.
"The sensation? Is that what it wants?" Though Lin Fan thought this to himself, he already knew that this was the case.
This was the only thing that Xiao Mu could be chasing as a puppet that had come to life. It didn’t have the same sensation that normal people had, so it could only chase after these feelings with the poison.
Lin Fan shook his head with another bitter smile when he figured this out.
Even if this was what Xiao Mu wanted, that didn’t mean that it had to test it on him.
Xiao Mu had said that it had already analyzed this since it was the one that made the poison, but still what would it accomplish by letting Lin Fan test this?
Seeing the way that Xiao Mu looked at him, Lin Fan finally tied it all together.
Xiao Mu was analyzing what it was about these poisons that was mainly causing this effect. It was trying to pick this out so that it could make it stronger and let it affect itself.
When he saw Xiao Mu acting this way, he really didn’t have a choice in the end but to drink the poisons. He knew that it wouldn’t hurt him, so the only thing that he could do was drink.
Once he drank it, he immediately felt the effects of this poison.
It surged in his eyes and made it hard for him to hold it back in the end.
When it was over, he started bawling from both eyes and his nose completely stuffed up.
It had turned him into a complete mess with how strong this sensation was.
When he finally suppressed it, Lin Fan looked at Xiao Mu as if he was waiting for something.
However, Xiao Mu looked to be frozen in a daze as if it was realizing something.
Ye Qing Huan was the one that brought out the antidote in the end.
She had been listening on the side while the female elder explained her poison crafting knowledge, so she had been able to pick up a few things. With these few bits of knowledge that she picked up, she was able to figure out which one was the antidote when Xiao Mu made it.
Lin Fan shook his head with a bitter smile as he took the antidote since he could see the way that Ye Qing Huan looked at him.
Even though she sympathized with him because he was suffering from the poison, it didn’t seem like she was going to stop this. She even looked at him as if she was urging him to keep going.
Lin Fan really didn’t know how to feel when everyone was against him like this.
It wasn’t that he wasn’t willing to help Xiao Mu, it was just that he was hoping for at least one person to be on his side...
After drinking the antidote, Lin Fan reached out for the next bottle of poison.
Since he was already determined to help, then he would do this to the very end.
Even if he was going to suffer, there really was no one better than him to suffer through this since they didn’t have the same recovery power as him.
It was a good thing that he had an endless source of vitality inside of his dantian.
