When it was all over, Lin Fan looked like he had been drained.
Though that wasn’t a bad way to describe it because the poisons that he had taken had drained him of a few things. One of the bigger things that he had lost were liquids because many of these things had made him cry or sweat.
It was as if these things were designed specifically for this.
But thinking about it, a lot of negative feelings were related to this.
It was just how the body reacted when it was under distress...
When it was finally over, Xiao Mu didn’t even offer a word of thanks to Lin Fan as it started focusing on creating poison once more. It seemed like Xiao Mu had been hit with some kind of inspiration with how focused it was making all these poisons.
No one said anything as Xiao Mu ran off like this. They all silently watched over Xiao Mu like they were watching over a child.
The only one that had a reaction was Lin Fan who revealed a bitter smile and let a single tear drop fall.
It made him seem like a little woman who had been used and thrown away.
It took a while, but Xiao Mu eventually finished with the refining that it had been doing. Only instead of paying attention to the poison that it made, it seemed to be interested in something else completely.
"What are you doing?"
Ye Qing Huan and the female elder couldn’t stop themselves from asking this.
After all, Xiao Mu had just ripped out its arm in front of them.
Though it wasn’t that big of a problem in the first place since Xiao Mu was a puppet. To begin with, all of the parts of Xiao Mu’s body were detachable since they were designed to be replaced.
There was nothing that could last forever in this world, Xiao Mu was designed with this in mind.
However, it was surprising to see someone rip out their arm like this. Not to mention that this wasn’t something that Xiao Mu should have been capable of doing, if not for the fact that it gained spirituality.
Xiao Mu didn’t answer with words, instead it used actions to show what it was doing.
The first thing that Xiao Mu did was rip off the skin covering that was on its arm to reveal the inside parts. After that, it started digging things out without a single care, as if nothing that was there mattered at all.
Once it had cleared out a large part of the things in its arm, it started to tinker with it as if it was installing something new. From time to time, it grabbed a few of the parts that it had tossed out, but it didn’t put them back in right away.
Instead, Xiao Mu seemed to be modifying the parts that it had taken out.
From what they could see, it seemed like Xiao Mu was making some serious changes to the inside of the arm. Only they just couldn’t understand what Xiao Mu was doing at first.
Eventually, Lin Fan who was more familiar with machines was able to figure it out.
"It’s making a compartment that can hold and inject things into its body." He muttered under his breath. Though when he muttered this, he did make sure that he raised his voice enough that Ye Qing Huan and the female elder could hear this.
They looked at him as if they were demanding him to explain this, but it wasn’t as if Lin Fan had seen that far yet.
He only knew what the things Xiao Mu was installing in its arms were capable of, he certainly didn’t know what Xiao Mu wanted to do with them.
That was until Xiao Mu started putting the poisons that it made into that arm.
The way that the Xiao Mu put it in was as if it was loading up the arm with the different poisons.
With his Appraisal Eyes, Lin Fan was able to see what each of these poisons did. Once he saw this, he had a good idea of what Xiao Mu was trying to achieve with these poisons.
"It wants to simulate emotions?"
There was a part of Lin Fan that felt strange about this.
After all, it really felt like Xiao Mu was obsessing a bit too much over the fact that it couldn’t display emotions properly. It felt like this kind of obsession would eventually become a chain for Xiao Mu.
Only it turned out that Xiao Mu knew exactly what it was doing.
Once Xiao Mu finished installing all of the poison into the arm, it attached the arm back onto itself.
For a moment, it didn’t seem like anything had changed with Xiao Mu.
Then all of a sudden, Xiao Mu began to laugh.
It was strange seeing a puppet laugh, but there was no mistaking the sound that came from it for anything but laughter. It wasn’t a strange kind of laughter that wouldn’t be considered proper laughing, it was actual laughter that anyone would recognize as laughter.
"Finally, I can express emotions like everyone else."
The emotional tone that was in Xiao Mu’s voice as it said this showed that this wasn’t just a simple matter for it.
Lin Fan realized that this matter wasn’t as simple as he thought it was for Xiao Mu. At the same time, he realized that he had been a fool for thinking that he needed to be worried about Xiao Mu.
Xiao Mu knew exactly what it was doing, so him being worried about Xiao Mu losing control was useless.
It wasn’t just laughter, it was even tears that came from Xiao Mu.
Though since Xiao Mu was a puppet, it wasn’t as if it had any actual tears to shed. What came out was some kind of lubricant that Lin Fan didn’t recognize at all.
Regardless, it seemed that Xiao Mu had achieved its goal by installing these poisons in its arm like this. However, Lin Fan was a bit confused about how it was triggering the poison in the first place.
After all, the way that Xiao Mu had set things up was that it had to be triggered by something before it released the poison. Unless Xiao Mu moved its arm in a certain way to release the poison, it wasn’t as if it would come out.
If it were to do that, then it really wouldn’t be considered having emotions.
Xiao Mu seemed to guess what Lin Fan was thinking based on how Lin Fan was looking at its arm.
"There’s a sensor in there that’s connected to my processor."
Lin Fan was surprised and confused by these words at first, but soon his face filled with even more surprise. It wasn’t that he didn’t understand what Xiao Mu meant by this, it was that he was surprised by how advanced Xiao Mu’s technology was that it was able to do something like this.
A sensor that was even able to detect emotion...
Though if Xiao Mu had never developed spirituality, it wasn’t as if it would have been able to think of such a thing to begin with. So it was something that could only be created because it had developed the ability to think outside the box.
If this sensor could be used to detect emotions...
Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling that it would help him with many other things, but he didn’t dare say it out loud in front of Ye Qing Huan.
If she were to hear what he was thinking, there was no doubt that he would have been in for a beating.
Xiao Mu didn’t test it beyond this since it didn’t seem like it was a good idea to force out emotions just for the sake of testing this thing. But it was clear that Xiao Mu was excited about being able to express all kinds of emotions now that it had this thing installed in its arm.

The female elder was surprised to hear this, but Xiao Mu just walked off to the side.
When they came back, the female elder looked like something had changed her.
