"What is this?" Lin Fan’s group was shocked to see what was in front of them.

Out of all the things that could have happened, they never thought that it would end like this.

If it wasn’t for Lin Fan’s quick reaction, they might not have been able to breathe.

That was because every single trace of moisture had been drained from the air around them. It was as if this entire space was completely devoid of all moisture with how there wasn’t a single trace of it in the air.

As for the land, it was completely dried up as if it had all been sucked away.

"But what is draining all this moisture away?"

After a certain point, it didn’t seem like the moisture was being drained.

It was a gradual change as one came closer and closer to where the mark was on the map, so it should mean that it was something that was stored where the mark was that was draining all this moisture away.

Only it really was hard to imagine just what it was that was doing this.

It didn’t feel like there was anything in this world that was able to do something like this.

Or it didn’t feel like there was anything that should have reached this point that it was capable of this. After thinking about it, Lin Fan did have an idea of what it could be that was draining all this moisture away.

There was no doubt that it was related to the power that he was using to create that layer of moisture around them.

"But is there something that has such pure water elemental energy in this world?"

His Clear Water Bead was already supposed to be a pure water elemental energy item, it should have contained water elemental energy that was at the peak. Yet now it seemed like there was something that even surpassed that.

After all, even the moisture that he was creating with the power of his Clear Water was being drained away.

It was at a level that he was able to resist still and form this barrier around them, but it wasn’t as if he was able to keep this up forever. He could feel that there was something that was draining the pure water elemental energy from his Clear Water barrier.

It wasn’t as if he would be drained immediately, but it was a matter of time before he would be drained.

So before that happened, Lin Fan had to find the source of this.

Once he found the source, he would have to decide whether he would retreat or figure out a way to deal with it.

"It would be easier if he just told us what was here..." He didn’t actually mean this, Lin Fan was just complaining for the sake of complaining.

It was just a good thing that it didn’t take long for them to find the source of this. At the same time, the force that seemed to be draining the pure water elemental energy from his Clear Water didn’t become much stronger.

When Xiao Mu asked Old Duan what this was, there was no response that came from him.

Even when Lin Fan tried using his Appraisal Eyes to see what was in the pond and waterfall, he wasn’t able to figure anything out.

It wasn’t because what made up the pond and waterfall were too strong for him to see through. It seemed like there was a barrier that was set up to protect this pond and waterfall itself.

"This is something that is important to the Dao Sect, so it wouldn’t be strange that they have something protecting this." Lin Fan thought to himself with a secret sigh.

Only this did make things much more complicated for him.

"What do we do now?"

Though the pond and waterfall were right in front of them, Lin Fan turned around to ask Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu this question. However, they obviously knew that he wasn’t asking this question because he wanted to know what plans they had.

He was just asking this because he was confirming what they would do if he were to put his plan into action.

Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu immediately narrowed their eyes to look at him, though it seemed like Ye Qing Huan was more relaxed than Xiao Mu was.

The two of them both knew what kind of cultivation technique Lin Fan possessed, so they knew what he was planning to do with this pure elemental energy item.

Only Xiao Mu didn’t have as much faith in this as Ye Qing Huan did. Xiao Mu hadn’t seen much of Lin Fan using his powers, so it was hard for Xiao Mu to have faith in it like Ye Qing Huan did.

In the end, it wasn’t as if Xiao Mu or Ye Qing Huan could stop Lin Fan from doing what he was planning to do. So the only thing that they could do was show that they weren’t going to follow him.

They didn’t know what would happen, but the one thing that they did know was that they would have distracted Lin Fan if they were to follow him in.

So the only thing that they could do was wait and see what he would do.

Lin Fan nodded to show that he understood before heading towards the pond and waterfall. Though before leaving, he made sure to create a proper barrier of Clear Water that would protect the two of them.

If they wanted to leave, it would follow them and bring them away from here as well.

It wasn’t that he thought that they wouldn’t be able to take care of themselves if he didn’t give them the Clear Water barrier. He was certain that they would be able to take care of this problem on their own.

He just didn’t want to leave them like this without doing anything.

This was the bare minimum that he should do as a man.

But not long after he stepped forward, Lin Fan suddenly disappeared from sight.

When they came back to their senses, they saw that they couldn’t find a single trace of Lin Fan.

Whatever had caused him to disappear had completely hid him from them.

It wasn’t because it was from a different source, it was as if it was a completely different kind of mist.

So Lin Fan had no choice but to try and figure his way out of this.

"How is there still enough moisture that this mist can exist?"

He could feel the moisture that was coming from the mist itself, but that didn’t make sense since it should have been pulled away by the pure elemental energy item in the center of this.

After all, it wasn’t as if the pure elemental energy item was able to control its own power. That was what was demonstrated when he saw all of the desolate land that surrounded this place.

Even now, he could feel the sensation that was coming from around him that was pulling at the Clear Water barrier that was around him. It was the kind of unconscious pulling that clearly wasn’t being controlled by anything at all.

When he couldn’t see anything, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan could move around rashly.

But at the same time, it wasn’t as if he could just remain in the same spot like this without actually doing anything. It was only a matter of time before he was drained by the unconscious pulling that was coming from around him.

"Can you show me a sign?" He said this to the token that he had taken out, but it was as if the token was playing dead.

The token didn’t give him a single sign of where he should be going, so it wasn’t as if Lin Fan knew what to do.
