Chapter 1616: Scattering the mist

Even if he wanted to stop, it wasn’t as if he could stop.

Lin Fan was using the suction force to absorb the pure water elemental energy around him, but it was like a faucet that was being opened. It wasn’t as if the water would stop flowing just because the tap was closed.

At the same time, it really was hard for him to close the tap with how strong the energy was flowing out.

So the only thing that Lin Fan could do was brace himself as he continued draining the pure elemental water energy that was around him. All he could do was use that pure water elemental energy to strengthen himself so that he could take all of it.

This pure water elemental energy was a highly dense form of energy in the first place with how pure it was. So it was the perfect elixir for Lin Fan to strengthen his body with when he absorbed it with the suction force.

But at the same time, it was putting more and more strain on him as he tried to absorb it.

It really was a battle of wills to see which side would collapse first.

Either his body collapsed before he was able to take in all of the pure water elemental energy that he was absorbing or he would be able to absorb everything in front of him.

In the end, it seemed like Lin Fan’s gamble paid off as he was able to strengthen his body enough that it wasn’t breaking down anymore.

However, there was another decision that he had to make when that happened.

"Do I want to absorb it as is or do I want to use it to strengthen something else?"

At first, Lin Fan’s suction force had just been breaking down the pure water elemental energy since that was what he needed. He needed the energy provided from breaking this down to strengthen himself.

But now that he had strengthened his body enough, it had finally started storing the pure water elemental energy instead of breaking it down.

It was only a small amount at first that was collected in his dantian, but Lin Fan couldn’t be more familiar with this process.

The only difference was that Lin Fan already had a form of pure water elemental energy inside of his dantian.

If he didn’t stop it in time, then he could tell that they would have clashed with each other. It was the kind of thing where they wouldn’t be able to exist with each other.

In a way, it was almost like how a piece of land wasn’t able to take two kings at the same time.

Both of them were made from pure water elemental energy, so they would naturally want to be the only thing that existed. If there was something else that was similar to them, then they would devour each other until there was only one thing left.

In this case, they would have attacked each other until there was only one thing that was left.

What Lin Fan was struggling with was whether to take in this new form of pure water elemental energy or feed it to the Clear Water Bead to strengthen it.

Since both of them were in his dantian, he had complete control over both of them. As long as he wanted, it would have been easy for him to control one of the two to let the other swallow it.

It was all about what benefits there were from letting one absorb the other.

In the end, Lin Fan decided to let the Clear Water Bead absorb this new pure water elemental energy to become stronger.

However, the reason for this wasn’t that the Clear Water Bead was stronger than the new pure water elemental energy. It was simply because the new pure water elemental energy didn’t seem to have any function at all.

Lin Fan had made sure to test it, but he found that there weren’t any effects at all.

The only thing that it could do was pull moisture out of the space around it, but this was more because of how powerful this pure water elemental energy was. That allowed it to have this restraining effect on the moisture around it.

If the Clear Water Bead absorbed it as well, it wasn’t as if it wouldn’t be able to absorb this ability. It would grow based on how much energy was inside of that pure water elemental energy.

So in the end, it really was that the Clear Water Bead was superior.

Though it would be a lie to say that there wasn’t a bit of attachment towards the Clear Water Bead that was involved. It was something that had been with Lin Fan for a long time now, it was the first pure elemental energy item that Lin Fan had absorbed.

After he restrained the new pure water elemental energy, he started feeding it to the Clear Water Bead.

The Clear Water Bead didn’t seem to hesitate at all as it absorbed everything that Lin Fan offered it with relish. The way that it was absorbing the energy was almost as if it was a hungry baby that wanted more milk.

Lin Fan really didn’t know what to think as he fed this pure water elemental energy to it.

But he was grateful that there was so much of it in the air around him and he had never stopped absorbing it. Even though he was feeding it to the Clear Water Bead, Lin Fan didn’t waste any time in absorbing even more of the pure water elemental energy.

At first, it didn’t seem like there was anything that was changing with the Clear Water Bead.

Only it didn’t take long for the Clear Water Bead’s aura to change.

It was getting more and more dense, just like the pure water elemental energy that was around Lin Fan at this moment.

It was clear that it was only a matter of time before it reached the same level as the pure water elemental energy around him.

Or that would have been the case if not for the fact that there was nothing left around him.

Lin Fan wasn’t certain of this at first, but it didn’t take him long to figure out that the pure water elemental energy around him was disappearing. It had happened so fast that he was completely caught off guard by it.

There wasn’t anything that he could do since it was just a natural thing, but there was a part of him that couldn’t help feeling that it was a shame.

"Why are they being so stingy with it? If they’re going to use it, then they should give me more of it." Lin Fan couldn’t help complaining to himself.

Once it was over, it was actually quite easy for him to fill this area with moisture once more since there was nothing that was sucking it away.

"Wait, there’s still something here that’s draining away the moisture."

It had only been a small sensation at first, but Lin Fan couldn’t shake it. When he focused on this sensation, he found that there was actually something that was draining a bit of power from him.

It wasn’t enough that he was actually affected by it, but it wasn’t as if it was nothing at all.

The only thing that was around him at this point was the mist.

"So it seems like even this mist is a special form of pure water elemental energy. It was being controlled by whatever is at the core of this place and was helping it drain the moisture away. It’s no wonder why this mist was so filled with moisture in the first place."

The way that the mist held the moisture, it almost felt like it was gathering this moisture for something.

But now that Lin Fan had taken care of the thing that was controlling this mist, it didn’t seem like this mist knew what it was supposed to do anymore.

"It would be a waste if I just left this mist here." The way that Lin Fan said would have made anyone want to beat him up. After all, even if this mist was being used by a high grade pure water elemental item, it was still a form of pure water elemental energy.

It was something that anyone would have been happy to obtain, but he was acting as if it was a pittance.

Though in the first place, it wasn’t as if others would have been able to take control of this mist that easily. It was only someone like Lin Fan with his special physique that was able to take care of this mist like this.

With the suction force, he drained the mist from the area and cleared it out.

When he did, all of the moisture that had been in the mist returned to the space around him which made it possible for normal people to live in this place again. At the same time, he no longer had to supplement the moisture in the air with his own power.

Not only did the moisture return, Lin Fan was able to see the area around him again.

He found that there was indeed an array that was there and it was quite the simple one. But with the power of the mist and the higher form of pure water elemental energy, it had been hidden quite well.

This was an array that really required all three parts to work properly.

But now that two of those three parts were gone, it wasn’t hard for him to break through it.
