Chapter 296 - 289: The Kill (Part 2)
Chapter 296: Chapter 289: The Kill (Part 2)
"An air strike? Imitating your mentor?"
The Black Wizard was shocked at first, but he quickly calmed down, his expression twisting into a sneer. "A good move! A pity you know nothing about my technology!"
With a thought, the carapace on the Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast’s back squirmed again. Behind the original main eye, two more crimson main eyes slowly opened, glinting with a sinister light as they stared fixedly at the sky.
"Come on! Let’s see how many more of those tin cans you have to throw at me!"
’He still had something in reserve? This guy is truly cautious.’ A flicker of emotion crossed the depths of Allen’s eyes.
"Freedom Gundam Unit 3, carrying one ’Big Boy,’ attempt a forced breach."
[Understood.]
In the clouds, Freedom Gundam Unit 3 went to full throttle, soaring into the sky. After reaching its apex, it dove toward the Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast with terrifying acceleration, constantly changing its trajectory as it fell.
A constantly accelerating blue meteor, carrying the second "Big Boy," hurtled toward the Tyrannosaurus Beast amidst a howling gale.
However, the two crimson main eyes lit up simultaneously. Two purple beams of light shot out in a crisscross pattern, sealing off all of Unit 3’s escape routes.
The beams converged.
BOOM! BOOM!
Under the double impact, the AT Field shattered instantly. Unit 3, along with the "Big Boy" Crystal Bomb, was torn apart and detonated in mid-air, turning into a dazzling burst of colorful fireworks.
"Remaining two Freedom Gundams, maintain distance and provide high-altitude deterrence."
Allen watched another blip extinguish on the screen and sighed softly, offering a moment of silence for Unit 3 in his heart.
Despite losing two Freedom Gundams and a one-time-use trump card in succession, Allen’s breathing rate remained unchanged.
The enemy’s anti-air capabilities had been confirmed, as had his wariness of the Crystal Bombs.
Through three probing attacks, the opponent’s attention had been successfully drawn to Allen’s offensive.
"It seems a straightforward Crystal Bomb attack really can’t hit a prepared Second-level Wizard," he murmured.
In the distance, the Black Wizard smugly observed the direction of Allen’s workshop through the Tyrannosaurus Beast’s shared vision.
’So this is all an Alchemy Wizard amounts to.’
He sneered inwardly, ’He must have run out of tricks!’
However, the corner of Allen’s mouth curved into a barely perceptible arc.
’The appetizers are done. Time for the main course.’
The [Golem Teleportation Technique] activated again!
VMMMM—!
Fifteen kilometers directly in front of the Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast, space twisted violently.
An unprecedentedly massive Space Gate slowly opened.
A Golem of extremely rugged and enormous design rolled out on treads, crushing sand and rock beneath it. It stood a full thirty meters tall, its armor as thick as a mobile fortress.
Most eye-catching were the oversized cannon barrels protruding side-by-side from its front!
The moment this tank-like Golem appeared, the complex Energy Gathering Rune Arrays on its four barrels lit up in sequence like breathing LEDs.
The ambient Magic Power in the surrounding air was drawn in frantically, coalescing at the muzzles into four terrifying red vortexes.
Fifteen kilometers away, the Black Wizard’s scalp went numb.
"What the hell is that thing?!"
Staring at this completely over-the-top, four-barreled tank, the alarm bells in his mind rang wildly.
’A new model? This must be his real trump card after advancing to Level 2!’
The four beams of light intertwined and merged in mid-air, becoming a destructive torrent of light over ten meters in diameter. It crossed ten kilometers in an instant, slamming viciously into the Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast’s chest.
BOOM—!
At the moment of life and death, a half-meter-thick dark shield erupted in front of the Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast’s chest.
He could cast Witchcraft while simultaneously controlling his modified Magical Beast!
The torrent of light ground against the shield, letting out a piercing shriek.
CRACK. The shield held for only two seconds before shattering on the spot!
The remaining shockwave of energy blasted the Tyrannosaurus Beast’s chest plate, melting a large patch of the supposedly indestructible special metal into molten, crimson slag.
Inside the beast’s chest cavity, the Black Wizard felt his blood churn from the impact.
’This level of attack power...’ His gaze turned frigid.
’This has to be the ultimate trump card that Alchemy Wizard created after advancing to Level 2!’
He looked up. In the distance, the four barrels of the tank Golem were once again glowing with a blinding red light, charging up for a second shot!
The muzzles were still locked firmly onto him!
’I can’t let it fire a second time!’
The Black Wizard was now dead set on killing him.
He no longer cared about Magic Power consumption. An inky black fog surged madly through the conduits and into the Tyrannosaurus Beast’s body.
The Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast let out an earth-shattering roar.
Its massive body seemed to defy the Laws of physics. It stomped its four limbs and transformed into a black bolt of lightning, charging straight for the tank Golem.
For a Second-Level Magical Beast at its limit, a distance of over ten kilometers was covered in an instant.
The tank’s barrels were glowing at their brightest, just about to fire.
"Die!"
The Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast charged forward, thrusting out two massive metal claws glinting with a cold light, and precisely clamped down on the tank Golem’s barrels.
The Black Wizard’s face contorted as he channeled all his Magic Power, forcing the giant claws to pull apart with crazed strength!
SCRRREEECH—!
Amidst the grating sound of tearing metal, the huge cannon barrels, along with the thick armor modified from the wreckage of a Freedom Gundam, were forcibly ripped apart by the Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast.
The Black Wizard’s eyes widened, ready to enjoy the sight of the Magic Furnace being crushed.
However, beneath the armor, there was no Magic Furnace. No transmission system.
There were only eighty full tons of high-purity crystallized seed ore, stacked in neat rows.
"What..."
The Black Wizard’s thoughts came to a halt.
In that split second between life and death, he unhesitatingly played his final life-saving trump card—forcing the Tyrannosaurus Beast to execute a five-kilometer spatial jump!
If it had been the previous five-ton-yield "Little Boy," he might have actually gotten away.
Unfortunately, he had underestimated the yield of Allen’s "ultimate move at point-blank range"!
He still failed to escape the blast radius of the super bomb Allen had crafted with such tender loving care.
A blinding white light erupted from the tank Golem, mercilessly engulfing everything around it.
There was no deafening roar, only the absolute silence of the laws of physics being forcibly rewritten.
Eighty tons of crystallized seeds, detonated at point-blank range!
A wave of brilliant, multicolored light swept out in all directions with devastating force, even transforming a portion of the thick clouds in the sky into iridescent clouds, allowing sunlight to spill through.
The Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast froze in place.
Inside its chest cavity, the Black Wizard’s face, filled with terror and despair, was also frozen within this splendid tapestry of light.
The wave of light dissipated.
On the Black Stone Gobi, a pure white, crystalline basin ten kilometers in diameter had appeared.
In the center of the basin, the Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Beast, still in its charging pose, had become a giant, translucent glass statue.
CRACK! CRACK!
Cracks appeared on the statue’s surface, and then it collapsed with a rumble, turning into a sky full of shimmering crystal dust that scattered gracefully.
A dignified Second-level Black Wizard, tricked and annihilated without even a corpse left behind.
Allen closed his eyes, standing outside his workshop and feeling the hot wind blow past.
He had paid a huge price in this battle, but at last, he had utterly erased this unknown, troublesome Black Wizard.
There was no Ultimate Golem, no new trump card.
That thing was just an empty shell, cobbled together from the wreckage of a scrapped Mecha, that could barely even move.
All’s fair in war.
He had calculated the Black Wizard’s caution and suspicion, anticipated his high alert against air-dropped bombs, and had specifically tailor-made this "Trojan horse."
Did the Black Wizard think he’d seen through Allen’s trump card and could charge in to rip his Ultimate Golem apart with his bare hands?
Too bad for him, what was inside was an eighty-ton "special delivery" to send him to heaven.
As for that "main cannon" shot that stunned everyone and scared the Black Wizard into tearing it apart himself...
...it was actually just the "Titan’s Roar" shoulder cannons from four Freedom Gundams, disguised and strapped together, then remotely overloaded using the [Energy Domination Technique] to force out one final, swan-song blast.
It could only fire once.
The barrels glowing red the second time? That was purely a bluff, achieved by installing a few colorful light bulbs inside beforehand.
A high-end Hunter often appears in the guise of prey.
And a rational Alchemy Wizard player... perhaps his greatest skill is playing with people’s minds.
