Wizard: Building a Golem Legion From Zero
Chapter 515 - 501: Thanatos and PX-4
Chapter 515: Chapter 501: Thanatos and PX-4
A brilliant strategist never pins all his hopes on one thing.
His long-standing tradition was to always make two of everything—good things should always come in pairs.
He turned, leaving the hangar filled with deathly silence and deep shadows, and walked into another, newly built one.
This hangar had been specially built with an even higher ceiling.
Under the brilliant lights, the finishing touches were just being put on another Level 4 Golem.
Compared to Thanatos, it appeared much more "normal."
It lacked that bizarre, reality-warping quality, nor did it possess the light-devouring mystery of the other.
It was simply tall and massive, exuding an unconcealed, brutish presence.
The silhouette of the Steel Giant reflected in Allen’s deep blue eyes.
The design, the style—it was just as it had always been.
That’s right. It was the direct upgrade of the Peacekeeper, PX-0—the first main combat Golem Allen had poured his heart and soul into during his apprentice days.
[Project Code: PX-4.]
Allen had also prepared a special gift for it: a specially programmed artificial soul.
’From now on, your name is Xiong Da,’ Allen said softly to himself.
’The name was simple, direct, and easy to remember.’
It stood eighty-six meters tall. Its heavy armor, broad shoulders, and powerful limb structure all demonstrated its original design philosophy—absolute ground suppression.
Compared to the PX-0, the PX-4’s upgrades were all-encompassing.
First, the materials.
Its entire body was forged from the Dawn Star Level "Anomalous Black Steel," top-grade material that Allen had acquired from the Association’s material depot in exchange for five hundred million Low-Level Magic Stones.
The physical properties of this material were astonishingly hard. Allen had run simulations; a full-power bombardment from the original Gabriel Unit-01 wouldn’t even leave a white mark on its chest plate.
Not to mention, Allen had also installed the Super AT Force Field from Cyclops onto it.
It could just stand there and take your hits, and you wouldn’t make a dent.
Second, its power source.
Inside its body, three standard-issue Dawn Star Level Magic Engines purchased from the Association were installed in parallel. Allen didn’t care if the technology was cutting-edge; he only cared if the output was massive and stable.
The terrifying power from overloading all three engines at once could send the fifty-thousand-ton Cyclops flying with a single punch.
Third, and its most crucial upgrade: the weaponry.
The giant circular launch port on its chest was no longer the apprentice-level "Judgement" platform.
Allen took some of the technical data obtained from the Purification Battleship, then simplified, cracked, and reverse-engineered it, finally replicating a low-spec version of the "Zeroing" Antimatter Annihilation Main Cannon.
Of course, limited by materials and energy, it couldn’t truly annihilate matter, but its underlying principle had already touched upon the edge of a Law.
The effect of a single blast could be described in two words.
World-shaking, life-ending.
Allen knew its power all too well, because he had personally taken it to a desolate material Plane for a live-fire test.
That single shot was equivalent to a one-kilometer-diameter meteorite impacting the surface at escape velocity.
It blasted a massive crater into existence, roughly twenty kilometers in diameter and five hundred meters deep. The terrifying shockwave, thermal radiation, and violent earthquake instantly destroyed everything within a fifty-kilometer radius. Any creature weaker than a Morning Star Wizard caught within that range stood no chance of survival. Far away, at a distance of five hundred kilometers, the intense tectonic vibrations could still be felt.
Even so, Allen was still unsatisfied with it.
This Golem was merely a barely passable Dawn Star Level Golem.
’In my mind, it still isn’t the final version of the Peacekeeper.’
It was still missing the most critical core—the application of the Power of Laws.
"Once I’ve mastered the Law of Metal, I’ll give you a proper upgrade, inside and out," Allen promised as he looked up at the Steel Giant before him.
This Golem, plus the R&D costs for the three expensive engines and weapon systems, brought the total cost to nearly seven hundred million.
With his current financial resources, he could only support the construction and maintenance of these two Level 4 Golems for the time being.
One was the grim reaper "Thanatos," which walked among the shadows and reaped souls.
The other was the tyrant "Xiong Da," which stood firm upon the earth and brought peace.
One uncanny, one orthodox.
One yin, one yang.
It was very much in line with the military philosophy of the Huaxia people.
Allen stood in the central corridor between the two hangars, feeling the completely different auras emanating from his left and right.
To his left was a cold, deathly stillness; to his right, a scorching violence.
A sense of fulfillment, of being able to hold destiny firmly in his own hands, filled his heart.
