Chapter 262: Chapter 264: Soul Cage

"Don’t let your guard down. The latest intelligence indicates that while these guys appear to be single individuals, the Magical Beast Bloodlines they have fused with are reborn inside their bodies in a strange way."

"In other words, each one of them is equivalent to several people fighting as a team."

The newly arrived Star Realm Battleship immediately transmitted the latest data to Ratama and Quint.

"No wonder! So that’s how those guys so easily blocked the blast from the Magic Energy Destruction Cannon. Now it all makes sense!"

A smirk touched Ratama’s lips as he finished reviewing the new data. He then had the Witch Brain Core activate a special War Weapon known as the Soul Cage.

"So, the dead Magical Beast Bloodlines can be nurtured to give birth to new souls, can they?"

"In that case, let’s see how many souls you have that can withstand being captured by the Soul Cage!"

As Ratama spoke, the Soul Cage erupted in a peculiar gray light, which shot straight toward the Racial Alliance Army.

"Defend!" Seeing the gray light approach, everyone in the Racial Alliance Army roared in unison, assuming defensive stances. Streams of iridescent light emerged from their bodies, cloaking them.

Hundred Beasts’ Hair. It was a Defense Witchcraft known to every living race in the Cosmic Sea World.

Once their defenses were in place, some of them stepped forward to counterattack.

The heads of these warriors were constantly shifting, transforming into the heads of tigers or lions.

Then, they all opened their mouths and let out a unified roar, unleashing a soundwave in an attempt to shatter the eerie light.

In their minds, the unified Roar of the Hundred Beasts they had just unleashed would certainly be able to stop this light.

During the world’s ascension, the Racial Alliance Army of that era had shattered space itself with a collective roar.

Although the current Racial Alliance Army wasn’t as powerful as they once were, this gray light didn’t seem as powerful as the invaders from that time, either.

But the light passed right through the soundwave, reaching the Racial Alliance Army unimpeded.

’The roar didn’t work?’

Seth watched the gray light approach, a growing panic rising in his heart. He knew danger was upon him.

At that moment, Seth wasn’t the only one feeling panicked.

Everyone in the Racial Alliance Army was overcome with the same emotion.

Because they walked the path of fusing with Magical Beast Bloodlines, they had also inherited the keen perception of Magical Beasts.

But it was too late. As the gray light washed over them, they were immediately struck with dizziness.

Then, they saw ethereal figures emerging from their own bodies and from those around them.

The sight of these figures struck terror into the hearts of everyone in the Racial Alliance Army.

For these were the Souls of the Magical Beasts, nurtured within their bodies through the fusion of Bloodlines.

And now, those Magical Beast Souls were being dragged out of their bodies by the gray light. Their strength would drop by at least a third.

With a great battle imminent, their strength had suddenly plummeted by a third.

Such a disparity in power would leave them like Pig Beasts before their foe, to be slaughtered to the last.

"Don’t panic! Those souls are still linked to our bodies, to our own souls."

"They haven’t pulled out our own souls. It won’t be long before these souls return to us on their own."

Chaos erupted within the Racial Alliance Army as their Magical Beast Souls were drawn out. But before the panic could spread, someone stepped forward, his voice booming with encouragement to steady their morale.

At his words, the panicked Racial Alliance Army quickly calmed down.

As the Racial Alliance Army regained its composure, several more Star Realm Battleships warped in, appearing beside Quint, Lamate, and the others.

There were now six Star Realm Battleships in total.

"Excellent, excellent. These Magical Beast Souls can be sold off and used to craft Soul Element weapons or Magic Potions."

Ratama watched with satisfaction as the Magical Beast Souls inside the Soul Cage thrashed about, madly biting and clawing.

He hadn’t expected to reap such an unexpected windfall from dealing with the Racial Alliance Army.

After all, Soul Element Magic Plants and materials, whenever they appeared, tended to sell for astronomical prices.

And now he had captured so many pure, albeit weak, Magical Beast Souls in one go.

While a single Magical Beast Soul wasn’t worth much, a large batch like this was extremely valuable.

"Alright, let’s attack together. We’ll strip the Magical Beast Souls from their bodies first, then annihilate them."

"I never thought this unique path within the Cosmic Sea World would give birth to so many pure souls."

Ratama transferred the first batch of captured souls into his Star Realm Battleship’s storage hold, then proposed that everyone attack together to capture the nascent Magical Beast Souls the Racial Alliance Army was poised to nurture.

Quint eyed the Racial Alliance Army in the distance, hesitating. His Star Realm Battleship didn’t have a special War Witchcraft Artifact like the Soul Cage.

Of his three War Witchcraft Artifacts, two were for offense and one was for escape.

If he joined Ratama in attacking the Racial Alliance Army, he would just be doing free labor for him.

"There are only six Interstellar Battleships. The odds of victory if we attack them now are too low. We should wait for more Interstellar Battleships to arrive."

Aboard the Interstellar Battleship next to Ratama’s, Yali looked at the Racial Alliance Army and shook his head. He had no intention of joining Ratama’s attack.

His reason for not joining the attack was simple, and the same as Quint’s.

His Star Realm Battleship also lacked a special War Witchcraft Artifact capable of capturing souls.

Under these circumstances, attacking would mean doing Ratama’s work for free.

Ratama gritted his teeth when he heard Yali’s words.

Of course, he knew what Yali really meant. He just wanted a cut of the captured Magical Beast Souls.

’Since that’s how it is...’

Ratama looked at the Racial Alliance Army and sighed. He knew that if he didn’t produce a plan for dividing the souls, the others wouldn’t lift a finger.

He was just about to open his mouth and propose a plan to the other five commanders.

Suddenly, a figure materialized in front of his Star Realm Battleship.

The figure simply threw a punch, sending Ratama’s Star Realm Battleship flying.

"Big fish, big fish! Report to the War Mother Ship! The big fish has taken the bait!"

After the figure sent Ratama’s Star Realm Battleship flying, the other five Star Realm Battleships immediately began to retreat.

The figure flickered, then gave chase, relentlessly attacking the five fleeing battleships.

Just as the figure appeared and knocked Ratama’s Star Realm Battleship away, a fleet of Star Realm Battleships suddenly materialized a short distance behind.
