Chapter 280: Chapter 282: The Benefits of the Child of the World

"Still here?"

Sokra stared at Munger with a provocative look on his face.

Munger ground his teeth in frustration at the sight of Sokra’s expression. But his own strength was no match for Sokra’s, and there was nothing he could do. With a cold snort, he turned and left.

’Hmph, trying to pull back a genius you’ve already sent away? The world isn’t that generous.’

After watching Munger leave, Sokra snorted inwardly.

He had known Munger for years; how could he not be familiar with his methods?

Ostensibly, Munger had been asking Andre how he had killed the Racial Alliance Army.

But in reality, it was a gesture of concern—a way to win Andre back to their faction.

It was precisely this concern revealed by Munger that had prompted Sokra to appear.

Andre absolutely could not be allowed to return to Munger’s fold. Even the slightest hint of it was unacceptable.

"Get up." Sokra turned and pulled Andre up from the ground.

Leaning on his Splitting Heavy Sword, Andre slowly got to his feet.

At that moment, Andre looked at Sokra with utter confusion in his eyes.

Andre could have sworn he had never met Sokra before.

"Your teacher, Radak, is my junior brother. I am the second disciple taken in by your grandmaster, Klein."

Sokra explained, seeing the puzzled look on Andre’s face.

After Sokra introduced himself, Andre nodded.

"So you really did kill this entire Racial Alliance Army by yourself."

At this moment, Sokra was just like Munger, who had just left.

Unlike Munger, however, as Sokra spoke, he silently cast a layer of detection Witchcraft on Andre.

The reason he cast such Witchcraft was to see if Andre was lying.

Lying could be a serious matter or a trivial one; it all depended on the circumstances.

With the academy now at all-out war with the Cosmic Sea World, lying at a time like this would have exceptionally grave consequences.

"I killed them," Andre affirmed with a nod.

"You weren’t injured?" Only then did Sokra notice that Andre’s body was completely unscathed. Even his clothes were intact.

"I wasn’t injured," Andre confirmed again with a nod.

Andre’s answer left Sokra utterly astonished.

’Is this level of combat prowess really something a Level 2 Wizard can possess?’

Sokra finally understood why Munger had been questioning Andre so persistently, repeating the same question over and over.

It was possible for one person to single-handedly take on an entire Racial Alliance Army, but that was predicated on a vast difference in Realm.

But Andre was just a Level 2 Wizard.

A Level 2 Wizard had killed every single member of this Racial Alliance Army.

How could such a situation not be shocking? How could it not be astounding!

Sokra stared at Andre, and after a long moment of thought, he could only let out a resigned sigh.

Sokra could guarantee that within that Racial Alliance Army, there must have been a leader equivalent to a Level 3 Warrior and many commanders equivalent to Level 2 Wizards.

He fought against foes beyond his level, facing a siege by enemies several, even dozens of times his number, whose Realms were equivalent to or even higher than his own.

Faced with such a scenario, most people would have chosen to flee. Andre, however, had killed them all.

At this moment, Sokra fully appreciated the complex emotions Munger must have been feeling.

"Weren’t you at the Expedition Base established by the First Expedition Squad, observing and deciphering this world’s script?"

"How did you suddenly disappear from the Expedition Base?"

"And how did you suddenly end up here?"

After staring at Andre for a long time, Sokra finally remembered the first thing he had intended to ask after finding him.

"I was abducted."

Andre spoke only after a long silence in response to the question, finally looking at Sokra.

"Abducted? From inside the Expedition Base? Who did it?"

Sokra grew tense the moment he heard Andre’s words.

To ensure the conquest of the Cosmic Sea World, the academy had provided Angela’s team with more resources than any other Expedition Squad.

These resources included a defensive Witchcraft Array.

The Witchcraft Arrays held by other Expedition Squads could, at best, only defend against attacks from experts equivalent to Level 2 Wizards.

But the Expedition Squad in the Cosmic Sea World possessed a Witchcraft Array capable of defending against the attacks of a Level 3 Wizard.

To abduct Andre from within a Witchcraft Array that could defend against a Level 3 Wizard, the perpetrator must be an expert on par with a Morning Star.

"After you were abducted, they didn’t... do anything to you, did they?"

Sokra asked, looking at Andre with a worried expression.

Hearing Sokra’s question, Andre’s expression turned impossibly sour.

"Say something! Don’t just stay quiet! Who abducted you?"

Seeing Andre keep his mouth shut, Sokra was practically dying of anxiety.

Just then, Andre touched the spot between his eyebrows, and the phantom image of a Crown instantly appeared there.

Upon seeing this Crown, Sokra froze on the spot.

"Ch-Ch-Ch... Child... Child... Child of the World."

A long while passed before Sokra finally recovered, pointing at the Crown between Andre’s eyebrows and repeating the words.

He was so agitated that, for a moment, he couldn’t even speak clearly.

"How did you suddenly become a Child of the World?"

Sokra patted his chest, composing his frantic and chaotic emotions before looking at Andre to ask.

"I don’t know. I had just arrived at the Expedition Base and was about to start deciphering the script when the World’s Consciousness just... took me away."

Andre shrugged at the anxious Sokra.

Seeing Andre’s nonchalant attitude, Sokra was at a loss for words.

"So that’s why the suppression from the Cosmic Sea World vanished. It was your doing all along."

Sokra’s gaze on the Crown between Andre’s eyebrows was now exceptionally complex.

Child of the World... So many Wizards spent their entire lives striving for this position, only to fail.

Even becoming the Child of a Level 3 World brought endless benefits to a Wizard.

The reason for this was that a Child of the World had the right to communicate directly with the World’s Consciousness.

One should not underestimate this power, thinking it was merely about conversing with the World’s Consciousness.

In truth, a Child of the World could observe the changes anywhere in the world from the perspective of the World’s Consciousness.

And these changes were the very manifestations of the Rules and Laws hidden deep within the world.
