Chapter 400: Chapter 401: To the Abyss

The Star Realm’s boundary membrane is damaged??

The Star Realm’s boundary membrane is damaged!

As this sentence echoed endlessly in Andeta’s mind, he finally understood why the Star Realm had no boundaries.

Logically, the Star Realm should be an immense world.

It was because of this immensity that the Star Realm could give birth to all sorts of other worlds.

But no matter how vast it was, it should still have had a boundary.

Yet, the Star Realm was boundless, a problem that had puzzled everyone before.

Most people believed that the Star Realm was in a state of constant expansion.

But now, with Andre’s words, the puzzle seemed to have an answer.

Without a boundary membrane, of course the Star Realm would be boundless.

But a new question arose. If the Star Realm had no boundary membrane, how did it not collapse under the immense pressure of the Chaos?

Andeta looked at Andre, who blinked in confusion.

’I see.’

Looking at Andre, Andeta understood everything in an instant.

He finally understood why worlds were constantly being born within the Star Realm.

And he understood why only beings who had reached the Morning Star level could move freely within it.

The answer was the strange powers within the Star Realm—the ones capable of extinguishing countless lives.

The source of these powers was the Chaos.

The Chaos is transformed step-by-step as it passes through the Star Realm’s main body and the worlds within it.

Only then can life be born within the Star Realm.

However, because the environment of the Star Realm is so hostile, life there is exceedingly rare.

In order to increase the amount of life, to have that life help it solve the problem of its damaged boundary membrane...

...the Star Realm adjusted its course. It allowed the worlds within it to nurture vast amounts of life, hoping to use the wisdom of these living beings to mend the gaps in its membrane.

Until this problem with the boundary membrane could be solved, the Star Realm’s only defense against the Chaos was to continuously transform Chaos Power and create worlds to block its erosion.

Because the worlds within the Star Realm were all born from the Star Realm Will, based on its own nature...

...they naturally possessed some resistance to the Chaos.

And that was the case until now—until the appearance of Andre.

Using his own Chaos Magic Power and the changes in his body, Andre can create a membrane that can serve as a replacement for the boundary membrane.

This membrane has given the Star Realm Will hope.

It is precisely because of this hope that the Star Realm Will has permitted Chaos Magic Power to exist within the Star Realm.

Previously, Chaos Magic Power was forbidden in the Star Realm due to the Star Realm Will’s concerns.

The terrifyingly corrosive nature of Chaos Magic Power was exactly what the Star Realm Will feared.

If Chaos Magic Power were to go out of control, its dreadful corrosiveness would become the most troublesome problem in the Star Realm, potentially even causing the realm itself to collapse.

Therefore, the Star Realm Will had always controlled Chaos Magic Power with an iron fist, even as the ancient sages of the Wizard World constantly sought ways to circumvent its supervision.

But the Star Realm Will’s control over Chaos Magic Power remained absolute.

Not until Andre appeared and successfully forged a path with Chaos Magic Power was it finally permitted within the Star Realm.

’So, a new question arises: how did Andre convince the Star Realm Will to allow him to forge this path?’

Andeta stared at Andre, filled with questions, hoping to find an answer in him.

But now that Andre had become a Morning Star Wizard, his entire body was composed of Chaos Magic Power.

Andeta couldn’t see how Andre had managed to forge this path with Chaos Magic Power unless he could perform a physical dissection and analysis.

But such an analysis would not be easy. Aside from needing Andre’s consent, he would also require the approval of the Wizard Civilization Will, and finally, the consent of the Star Realm Will.

Getting the Wizard Civilization Will’s consent would be manageable. As one of the founders of the Wizard Civilization, he could secure its temporary agreement.

But passing the trial of the Star Realm Will was fundamentally impossible.

Right now, Andre was the only living being in the Star Realm who could potentially mend the damaged barrier.

The Star Realm Will would never allow anything to happen to Andre before he mended the boundary membrane.

"How much can you produce right now?"

Andeta asked Andre, countless plans already forming in his mind.

"It would take me one hundred years to produce another one like it," Andre replied seriously, looking at Andeta.

"One hundred years? No, that’s too long!"

Andeta felt a headache coming on when he heard the number.

"Old Ancestor, that’s the fastest I can go right now. I can’t do it any faster."

Andre looked at Andeta and spread his hands helplessly as he spoke.

’Doesn’t he think I want to be faster? But this is the limit of my Ability.’

"Is that so... In that case, prepare yourself. You’re going to the Abyss!"

Andeta looked at Andre, pondered for a moment, then nodded. His tone shifted abruptly as he ordered Andre to go to the Abyss.

"Old Ancestor, why are you sending Andre to the Abyss?"

The Eight Ancestors also looked at Andeta in confusion. He couldn’t understand why Andeta would arrange for Andre to go to the Abyss.

"Your most urgent task right now is to grow stronger quickly and then mass-produce these membranes."

"But if you stay within the family, even with the full support of our clan and a massive infusion of resources..."

"...your growth rate won’t increase by much."

"That’s because you haven’t truly experienced growth, you haven’t faced setbacks, and you haven’t personally witnessed the differences between various worlds."

"Only after experiencing these things will you truly grow."

Andeta offered Andre a very flimsy excuse.

Upon hearing this reason, even the Eight Ancestors couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

’You wouldn’t even trick a child with a lie that obvious, let alone Andre. He’s not a child anymore; he’s an adult, a Morning Star Wizard. Is it really a good idea to try and fool Andre with such a far-fetched reason?’

"Do I go now?"

Andre didn’t object to Andeta’s arrangement for him.

He did, in fact, want to make a trip to the Abyss. This was not only because of the Morning Star pact among the major powers, but also because of the Chaos Crystal that Angelson had obtained there.

If he could find the birthplace of that Chaos Crystal and excavate a vein of Chaos Crystal Stones...

...then from that point on, very few people in the Star Realm would be able to stand in his way.

"Not right now. You’ve just become a Morning Star Wizard. You need some time to familiarize yourself with your current Power."

"Once you have mastered your current Power, you can head to the Abyss."

Andeta said, shaking his head at Andre.

"Ah, I see!"

Andre nodded, his mind already turning to other matters.

For instance, he could return to Senbai Academy to see Radak, or he could go and unearth the other treasures Angelson had left behind.
