Chapter 604: Gamedia's Dream

At some point, two figures in gray robes were standing in a corner of the studio, watching him with smiling eyes.

‘Smiles?’

Wei’en sized them up, a thought stirring within him. He ventured, “Elder Menor?”

‘Besides Elder Menor, who could use a spatial marker to enter, there shouldn’t be any other outsiders who could get into the Clown Theater so silently.’

“It is I.”

One of them pulled back his hood, revealing a handsome face. Beneath thick, dark eyebrows, a pair of silver-gray eyes gazed at him. It was none other than Menor Vannis Stringer, one of the twelve Elders of the Eternal Life Association.

“Menor, is this the Deacon you nominated at the last meeting?”

At that, the person beside him also pulled back his hood and shed his robe, revealing a neat, exquisite formal suit underneath. He sported a very unusual slicked-back hairstyle, and a flamboyant smile stretched across his not-conventionally-handsome face, giving him a somewhat neurotic air.

“It is,” Menor confirmed, then turned to introduce him to Wei’en. “He is also an Elder of the Eternal Life Association, Kleia. Kleia Candrus.”

‘Deacon?’

‘What’s that?’

Wei’en nodded calmly. “Greetings, Elders.”

‘He had just been thinking about joining forces with the Eternal Life Association, and now they’d come looking for him.’

‘Clelia…’

“What happened to Clelia?” Menor stared at Wei’en, his eyes as calm as still water, as if he possessed some mind-reading ability. “I just tried to locate her using the ‘Dao Mark’ and couldn’t find her. Can you tell me what happened?”

Although it was a question, his tone was completely certain—certain that something had happened to Clelia!

“Yes. She’s run into some trouble.”

“Tell me,” Menor said, his voice still calm.

Meanwhile, Kleia’s eyebrows twitched. Wei’en’s reflection was captured in his emerald green eyes as a faint killing intent began to emanate from him, slowly enveloping the entire studio.

Wei’en glanced at him, his expression calm, and said placidly, “Three hours ago, we encountered a Grave Digger from the Dusk Sect. Unfortunately, she was taken away by a projection of the ‘Master of True Slaughter’ that he summoned.”

‘He didn’t know how much Menor, or the Eternal Life Association for that matter, knew about Clelia’s identity, or if they were aware she was an avatar of that particular entity.’

‘But that wouldn’t stop him from using this as an opportunity to ask more about the Dusk Sect.’

‘Whether the Eternal Life Association cared about Clelia or not, he would do everything in his power to reach the domain of “Truth” and bring her back.’

“A Grave Digger? A projection of the ‘Master of True Slaughter’?” Menor’s brow furrowed, creasing deeply. “Are you certain?”

“I’m certain.”

“With your level of strength, I’m afraid you couldn’t even handle a Grave Digger, could you?”

The killing intent radiating from Kleia dissipated as he asked in confusion, “Besides, if a projection of the ‘Master of True Slaughter’ really descended, how are you still alive?”

“If you would, I’d like you to recount what happened.” Menor’s posture relaxed from its ramrod straightness. He casually summoned two chairs and gestured for them to sit.

“Mm.”

Wei’en didn’t refuse. Not only was he a member of the Eternal Life Association, but more importantly, he knew Menor’s relationship with Clelia could be a powerful asset.

“…And that’s what happened. I also suspect that many similar incidents will begin to occur across this entire sea. Those Grave Diggers and Secret Cultivators have likely already started to recover the ‘Pyramids.'”

After finishing his account, Wei’en took out a Pyramid.

“A Pyramid? HAHAHA!” The young, slick-haired Elder burst out laughing after getting a clear look at it. “You must have named that yourself, didn’t you?”

Wei’en: “Hm?”

“Shut up!” Menor shot Kleia a glare, then explained, “This is a very ancient alchemy tool called ‘Gamedia’s Dream.'”

“What’s that? Gamedia?”

“Yes, an ancient god. However, according to the records on the Era Relics in the Association’s possession, He was the sovereign who ruled over war, slaughter, and nightmares. Have you heard of the War Church?”

‘Slaughter?’

Wei’en nodded. “I have. It existed during the Third Era.”

“It seems you know more about the time before the Divine Prohibition Era than I expected,” Menor chuckled. “To be more precise, however, the War Church’s existence dates back to the beginning of the Second Era, the Era of Chaos. But it fell apart in the middle of the Third Era.”

“Oh?”

“I don’t know the exact reasons. The records on some of the Era Relics are fragmented. All we know is that the sovereign of the War Church fell.”

“Fell? A True God?”

‘Wei’en thought of the page in the Era Relic tome that had been smeared completely black. What sort of calamity had occurred in the middle of the Third Era to cause such a disaster for the War Church?’

‘A calamity that could make a True God fall?’

“But that’s not the point. Getting back to Gamedia—after this ancient god fell, of the three realms He ruled—Slaughter, War, and Nightmare—the realms of Slaughter and War were both seized by the War Master.”

“As for the one who controls the Nightmare Realm, they have yet to reveal themselves. We only know that the Nightmare Sect is aware of that realm’s location.”

Menor continued, relaying more records from previous eras. “And after the War Master fell, the Slaughter Realm He controlled was likely stolen by that ‘Master of True Slaughter’ you encountered.”

‘Oh?’

‘So that’s how McCarthy got his Slaughter Realm.’

‘As for the Nightmare Realm… that must be the one where the Nightmare Worms are, right?’
