Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 605: Gamedia's Dream (2)
“Then what’s the purpose of this so-called ‘Gamedia’s Dream’?” Wei’en asked, pointing to the Pyramid in his hand. “Is it for containing killing intent?”
“More than that,” Menor said, shaking his head, his gaze also fixed on the Pyramid. “Ever since I received the intelligence you reported, I’ve scoured all records of relics. I finally found a mention of it in a tattered alchemical manuscript.”
“It’s a training ground that an Ancient God created specifically for the believers within his Divine Realm. Its main purpose is to enhance their Power of Faith, but it also has the ability to punish heretics.”
‘Faith? Punishment?’
‘So the Dusk Sect’s goal is to collect faith generated by slaughter?’
“Faith generated by slaughter,” Menor hesitated. “This involves matters of a Divine Realm… We don’t have a complete understanding of it either.”
“I understand.”
Wei’en didn’t mind. From Menor and Yuan’s apprehension when the Lord of Dawn, Orpheus, descended as a projection last time, it was clear that even legends had a long way to go before reaching godhood.
It was normal not to know about the affairs of a Divine Realm.
“As for what purpose this slaughter-based faith serves, we haven’t found that out yet. Besides what you mentioned—helping a Tier 3 Calamity advance—the Dusk Sect definitely has a much grander scheme.”
Wei’en: “…”
‘That goes without saying.’
“So what’s the Eternal Life Association’s next move? And regarding Clelia…”
“You don’t need to worry about Clelia for now,” Menor said calmly. His silver-gray eyes swept past Wei’en and landed on the little Messenger, which had been sitting quietly on the workbench. “She had contact with *that one* in the last era. This is merely a continuation of past events.”
“Hm? The last era?”
Wei’en looked at the two of them. ‘So the Eternal Life Association knows quite a bit about Clelia’s situation?’
“She probably hasn’t told you these things. It would be better for her to tell you herself when you see her again.”
Menor looked at him and chuckled. “Although I don’t know what your relationship with Clelia is, I must remind you: she’s no ordinary woman. Especially when it comes to self-preservation, her abilities surpass even some divine beings.”
‘It seems so.’
Wei’en nodded. He was now certain the Eternal Life Association knew a great deal about Clelia, but whether they knew she was an avatar of that Ancient God was difficult to say.
After all, this involved the Night Goddess, that Ancient God…
“As for the Dusk Sect, the Association has deliberated and decided that we must stop their plan this time. The first step, just as you communicated with the ghost, is to start with these ‘Gamedia’s Dreams’.”
“But there’s no rush. It will take them a long time to gather all those things. I came here this time for two reasons. First, to ask about Clelia. Second, for this…”
As Menor spoke, he reached out and took out a black card. “This is your Deacon identification card. I’ll contact you through it from now on.”
Wei’en took the card and glanced at it. It was a solid black card made of metal, with no patterns or etchings.
“Since you’ve already made contact with the ghost, you’ll be in charge of that matter going forward. As for subsequent plans, we’ll talk after I’ve communicated with the one from the *Black Pearl*.”
Menor said with a faint smile, “In this Cordo Sea Region, surrounded by four continents, the mood of that ‘Sea Emperor’ is especially important. And…”
“From what I know, the Dusk Sect chose not to cooperate with him. Instead, they’ve been striking out everywhere to seize control of various large, medium, and small Pirate Gangs, including the *Alanjia*.”
“Hm? Are you talking about the one from the Western Continent?”
The name *Alanjia* was not unfamiliar to Wei’en. During his days at sea, he had often heard it from Ronan. Moreover, Black Jack and the others had been wary of them, suggesting they possessed the power to rival the *Black Pearl*.
‘If they collaborated with the Dusk Sect, then at sea…’
“The very same,” Menor confirmed with a nod. “That Captain Suyade was very lucky. On an adventure over a decade ago, he found the Taboo Item named ‘*Homecoming*.’ Since then, his *Alanjia* has grown and expanded.”
‘*Homecoming*?’
Wei’en’s expression flickered. He remembered that before leaving Caster City State, the name of the Taboo Item held by Director Nifa was the “Figurehead of the *Homecoming*,” wasn’t it?
‘Could the two be related?’
“Fortunately, he hasn’t gotten his hands on the ‘Figurehead’ yet. Otherwise, the power of the *Homecoming* would be even more terrifying…”
“He may want it, but he doesn’t have the strength to take it!” Kleia sneered. “Once those two Taboo Items combine—no, even if they just come within fifty kilometers of each other—that ship will break free from his control.”
‘Huh?’
‘There’s something like that?’
“That’s right,” Menor agreed, not refuting him. “The *Homecoming*’s existence is very special. It possesses the ability to traverse the forbidden zones of the sea. It can also use set anchor points to travel without spatial restrictions, moving between places like the Undead World and the Abyssal Depths.”
“But that’s only when it hasn’t been combined with the ‘Figurehead.’ Once they merge…”
At this, Menor paused, his eyes filled with amusement. “They will become a single Taboo Item with its own consciousness, wandering through various worlds along a fixed route. Unless an Ancient God appears, no one will be able to control it again.”
[You have heard the name “Taboo Item 0-10, *Homecoming*.” Your trajectory of fate has slightly changed. Current encounter progress: 1/100. Evaluation: A small boat that once carried the primordial… Special Reward: Origin +5, Resilience Level +5, Spirit Level +5.]
‘Huh?!’
‘It can be encountered just like that?’
Wei’en was bewildered. ‘Menor and Kleia didn’t say the full name of the Taboo Item just now, so how…’
‘And 0-10…’
“Do you know the designation number for the *Homecoming* that Captain Suyade controls?”
“It’s said to be ‘0-37.’ Hmm, let’s not talk about it.” A look of apprehension appeared on Menor’s face. “Taboo Items are powers unto themselves. They can transcend the River of Destiny. Unless absolutely necessary, it’s best to mention their names as little as possible.”
[You have heard the name “Taboo Item 0-37, the incomplete *Homecoming*.” Your trajectory of fate has slightly changed. Current encounter progress: 5/100… Special Reward: Origin +3, Resilience Level +3, Spirit Level +3.]
‘Just as I thought. The notification I just received was about the fate deviation of the combined Taboo Item…’
‘In other words, in the distant future, that Taboo Item will inevitably be made whole. Does that mean Director Nifa and Captain Suyade are destined to clash?’
“That part is really disgusting. To this day, I can’t forget the time on the Southern Continent when that Bishop from the Earth Church deliberately caused a Taboo Item to go out of control. The scene almost made me sick.”
Kleia added, and from the lingering fear on his face, it was clear the memory was still deeply etched in his mind.
Menor was noncommittal. “If not for the fact that Suyade could roam the seas unchallenged after obtaining that Taboo Item, with the Sea Emperor’s power, he would have thrown him into the sea to feed the fish long ago.”
“It’s what allowed him to grow to his current level by leveraging the mysteries and strangeness of the sea’s forbidden zones. Speaking of which, Isabella is also partly to blame.”
“Don’t say such things in the future. Don’t forget why we came out here.”
“I know, I know…”
Wei’en listened quietly to their conversation, gaining a clearer understanding of the Eternal Life Association’s response.
If they could join forces with the *Black Pearl* and participate in the encirclement of the Dusk Sect, it would be a good thing for him.
That way, the Wizard Schools could set out from the coasts of each continent, with each responsible for a region of the sea, while at sea, the *Black Pearl*, the Eternal Life Association, and others would be there to stop the Dusk Sect’s plans from coming to fruition.
‘It seems like something is still missing… Hm?’
“Lord Menor, I have a question.”
“Go ahead.”
“Regarding the Dusk Sect, have the True God Churches been notified? Leaving aside the Dawn, Earth, and Red Moon Churches for a moment, the Storm Church is deeply involved with the sea. With their participation…”
“The Association has considered this,” Menor said, frowning slightly. “But based on our understanding of those figures, I’m afraid it will be very difficult to persuade them.”
“Why? The Dusk Sect’s plan is likely to unleash a massive calamity upon this world. Don’t the True God Churches care?”
Wei’en was very puzzled by this. The True God Churches had always given him the impression of being lofty, remote existences, devoid of humanity and largely unconcerned with the suffering and calamities of the mortal world below.
‘But this clearly conflicts with their doctrines… Don’t they want more believers?’
“They care, and yet they don’t. Speaking of which, this requires an explanation of the origin of the name for the Fifth Era: the Divine Prohibition Era…”
‘The Divine Prohibition Era?’
‘Is that the main reason?’
