Chapter 153: Chapter 110: Observing the Half-Plane and Gourd Little Vajra

The specks of light converged toward the center, growing denser and brighter until they condensed into a fist-sized, blazing white sphere. This core was the physical projection of Ignatius’s Origin Rune and the seed of the Half-Plane.

Ignatius withdrew his hand from the surface of the bubble. The blazing white seed had already found its place in the Void. Through his Eye of Truth, Chen Shang could clearly see that this was not random suspension; it was precisely anchored to a specific node within the Star Force Field. The space surrounding the seed was not flat, but slightly concave, much like a heavy iron ball resting on a taut sheet of fabric.

This was a High Tier application of the Repulsive and Attractive Dual Force. It wasn’t the simple pushing or pulling that someone at Chen Shang’s current stage would employ, but a positioning within the Void using extremely complex formulas. Simultaneously, it constructed a point of gravitational equilibrium, ensuring the Half-Plane would neither drift away nor collapse.

Haimer stood at the highest point of the observation platform, his deep purple robes perfectly still in the Void. He remained silent, simply watching Ignatius’s every movement.

Soon, fragments of a landmass were drawn out of the Void. Dozens of pieces of varying sizes drifted slowly, resembling scattered puzzle pieces. Ignatius extended his hand, spread his fingers, and then slowly curled them into a fist. As if gripped by an invisible hand, the fragments gathered from all directions, piecing and interlocking together above the seed before finally fusing.

The edges of the fragments melted the moment they touched, then solidified again, with a dark red light flowing through the seams. This was a High Tier application of the Star Force Field. Gravity pulled them closer while Repulsive Force squeezed them. The alternating interplay of these two forces ultimately compressed the fragments into a complete, perfectly regular hexagonal landmass.

Following that, the high temperature of the landmass visibly decreased. The rocks on its surface slowly cooled from dark red to ash-black, with occasional jets of steam shooting out from the cracks. Ignatius landed in the center of the landmass, squatted down, and took a seed from his robes. The seed was silvery-white and only the size of a fingernail. Its surface was covered in fine, dense patterns—some kind of complex Rune. He pressed the seed into the rock and activated it with his Spiritual Power.

The shell of the seed cracked open, and a silvery-white root squeezed out from the fissure, extending straight into the Void like a snake searching for its way in the dark. The tip of the root expanded into a fine, luminous net. Much like a jellyfish’s tentacles, it caught the invisible, free-floating energy strand by strand and delivered it to the core of the seed.

Then, the seed sprouted. A silvery-white shoot poked its head out of the crack. Its stem was translucent, revealing the slow flow of liquid inside. It grew rapidly. In just a few breaths, it reached the height of a person, and then the height of a full-grown tree. The canopy unfurled, branches spreading in all directions, as its silvery-white leaves trembled gently in the Void.

The roots spread from the base of the trunk, creeping across the surface of the landmass like serpents. With every distance they covered, they split into secondary roots, which then branched out further, weaving a net that covered the entire landmass. Wherever the roots passed, the rocks were secured, the cracks were filled, and the temperature of the landmass stabilized.

This was a Magic Energy Tree, a product of Wizards that could absorb energy directly from the Void. Its roots, exposed to the Void, acted like countless antennas, capturing the fluctuations that mortals could never perceive. The landmass covered by its root system would slowly expand, as new matter condensed from the Void deposited layer by layer along its edges. The annual growth would be nearly imperceptible, but stretched over hundreds or thousands of years, a small landmass could transform into an entire continent.

Ignatius stood up and began the next step: the opening of the Magic Spring. He walked to the very center of the landmass, extended his right hand with the palm facing down, and spread his fingers slightly. Spiritual Power surged into the rock, piercing every corner of the landmass and carving out a hollow in its exact center, forming a stable domed structure.

Then, water began to seep from the bottom of the hollow. This was Elemental Water, condensed directly from the Void. At first, it was just a thin film of water, but it grew increasingly thicker—turning from a film to a puddle, from a puddle to a pool, and from a pool to a lake. Once the water level stopped rising, tiny crystals began to form at the bottom of the lake.

The Earth Element crystals were an earthy yellow, settling in the deepest depths. The Water Element crystals were deep blue, floating in the middle layer. The Fire Element crystals were dark red, resting in the top layer. The Wind Element crystals were cyan-white, suspended near the water’s surface. The four types of Elemental Crystals grew slowly at the bottom of the lake, like coral.

Chen Shang had kept his Eye of Truth open the entire time, not missing a single detail. The moment the roots of the Magic Energy Tree plunged into the Void, he saw the space around the landmass undergo a slight distortion.

This was space being compressed! Because the landmass itself possessed mass, that mass would compress space, and the curvature of space would, in turn, guide the flow of energy. Mass compressed space, space guided energy, energy nourished the landmass, and the landmass increased its mass. It was a self-reinforcing cycle.

Of course, he also saw something else. The instant the Magic Energy Tree’s roots pierced the Void, the flow of time within the landmass underwent an extremely minute change. He could feel that time had begun to flow! Previously, the landmass had been dead, devoid of time, or rather, its time had been stagnant. The Magic Energy Tree had activated it, allowing time to flow within. This meant that the Half-Plane had begun to acquire the attribute of time.
